All Happening Way Too Fast

February 16, 2011 at 10:08 PM

I’m sorry, but I cannot keep up with the speed with which things are changing these days.  It is almost mind-numbing.

Today, I read that the world’s global elite are likely the perpetrators behind the revolts in Egypt, Iran, Tunisia, Yemen, Lybia, Bahrain, and elsewhere.  In a number of cases, besides Egypt, the Internet was shut off, as a precaution.

The question is:  could this happen in America?  The answer:  YES!  President Obama already has a “kill switch” and I’m sure he’d love any reason to use it.  If it comes to that, why not declare martial law as well, killing two birds with one stone?

Do you realize that if martial law is declared in the United States, the U.S. Constitution goes out the door for as long as martial law is in effect?  Do you also realize that President Obama would remain president until such a time as martial law was rescinded?  Question:  why would he choose to rescind martial law once he instated it?  Answer:  He would not and it would be stupid of him to do so.

Folks, if we are not living in the end times, then I cannot imagine the end times.  The world is colliding with itself and terrible times are ahead of us.  I hope you know Jesus as Lord and Savior.  If not, you’d better get to it.

It amazes me though, that in spite of everything that is going on in this world with Egypt’s upheaval, as well as Iran’s, beyond the normal and near-daily problems that exist within the Middle East related to Israel, people continue to do normal things.

Recently, I noted that the Grammy Awards took place.  I took a moment or two to check things out and the whole scene appeared to me to be so pretentious that it was hardly worth noticing at all.  Apparently, Justin Beiber fever is at an all-time pitch, with girls tripping over themselves to get closer to their idol.

Lady Gaga was on hand to give an acceptance speech that was simply nouns, adjectives, pronouns, and other words put in some type of order without making a great deal of sense; something that Bill Maher does on regular basis.

I simply have one question for the Grammy Awards, as well as the other award shows air annually:  WHO CARES?! I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to yell.  It’s just that it is frustrating to see society fawning after people who are just that – people.  It just so happens that these people may have some talent that the ordinary person may not have at all, or to a lesser degree.

None of that matters though.  None of it.  Matthew 5:45 tells us, “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”  The saddest part of all this is that in spite of the talent (or not) of these people, God rarely, if ever gets the credit.

It is clear from Scripture that God “sends rain on the just and unjust,” meaning that people who will never come to salvation may be blessed with specific talents.  God takes care of the just and unjust, and does not merely send rain on the just, or only gives talents to the just.

Think of people who have special talents and are noticed by agents in Hollywood.  Think of people like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, or consider rock bands of yesteryear.  Groups like Journey, the Beatles, any number of “hair” bands, as well as individual artists, all made a killing in the music industry and had pretty much anything their hearts desired.  Did they stop to give God credit for their talent?  I don’t recall any (or at least, many) of them doing that.  In fact, it seems as though these people believe that they were given something by “fate,” that set them apart from the average individual.

Brad Pitt has stated that he does not believe in God, nor does he believe there is anything after this life.  That is tragic.  People like Pitt and others who have gained their fame and fortune, essentially already have their reward.  Pitt expects nothing after this life, so he is busy enjoying life now.  The fact that he is providing a home for a number of children through adoption does not mitigate the fact that Pitt’s reward will not extend into the afterlife, and he certainly does not expect it.

Here we are in 2011, with the world hurtling toward judgment and the global society by and large, acts as though these are merely hiccups or small burps that will eventually go away.  Because of this, people seek to retain some sense of normalcy, so they continue to do what people do during normal times.  Included in that is to chase after celebrities and stars because people can then live vicariously through them.

Here is the reality that seems to exist:  the dominoes have begun to fall in the Middle East.  With the major changes happening in Egypt, which has caught fire into other nearby nations, one can only wonder how far these revolts will go and how long they will last?  Will they find their way to America?

Teressa Monroe-Hamilton wrote on Worldview Times that she believes the revolts were planned from decades ago. She also stated that she believes George Soros and Barack Obama among other global elitists are behind the whole thing. [1]  See the footnote below for the entire article.

I have come to the conclusion that our job as Christians is to focus on witnessing to the lost.  We must be involved in the Great Commission, introducing people to Jesus as Savior and Lord.  We must do it, whether they listen or not and let’s hope and pray they do listen.  It is getting dark.  The daylight is waning.  I really don’t think there is much time left.
