Death Threats Against Gov. Walker…and the Media Ignores Them

It’s ironic, isn’t it? A few months ago, Jared Loughner took a gun and shot a number of people in Arizona, killing some while injuring others. Among those severely injured was Congresswoman Giffords, who received a bullet to the head.
We know that it was not long before the left came out in droves to condemn the right. Of course, the real blame was fully placed in Sarah Palin’s lap because of the bullseyes she had on her Web site. Everyone from Chris Matthews, Bill Maher, Jon Stewart and many others all weighed in on the issue because it served the purposes of the left. The message was that Tea Partiers are bad people, wishing death on those with whom they disagree.
This message played out well in the liberally motivated media. People loved it.
Today, the media is strangely silent over the same issue on the other foot. In Wisconsin, Gov. Walker and other members of the Wisconsin legislators have received multiple death threats. If asked, the media would probably say they can only cover so much of the news and right now, the big news is Japan. Why do I get the impression that if it was folks on the right who were leveling death threats to those on the left, this same media would have plenty of time and room to report on the issue.
“One particularly threatening e-mail warned Republican lawmakers to “put your things in order because you will be killed and your families will also be killed due to your actions in the last 8 weeks.” [1]
There have been notes shoved under Republicans doors that say, “The only good Republican is a dead Republican.”
Others have said, “We feel that you and the people that support the dictator have to die,” the letter reads. “If you and your goonies feel that it’s necessary to strip the rights of 300,000 people and ruin their lives, making them unable to feed, clothe, and provide the necessities to their families and themselves then We Will ‘get rid of’ (in which I mean kill) you.”
Why are these threats being ignored? Certainly, they are being investigated by local law enforcement thank goodness, but the media apparently has no real time to report on such seemingly mundane issues like death threats. After all, no one has been attacked or killed yet, so why worry?
The duplicity in the media is way past alarming. It is the accepted norm. While people are claiming that all FOX News does is “lie,” apparently what the liberal leftwing media does not report on is not a big deal. I’m sure there are plenty of lefties who secretly say to one another that the Gov. and those other Republicans are the ones who have caused the problem. They made their bed, so they should lie in it.
I don’t agree with Congresswoman Gifford’s politics, but I would never under any circumstances, wish her to be in the condition she is currently in due not to a right-winger, but a lunatic. In things such as this, politics should be said aside, though it is impossible that this will occur.
In Wisconsin, the unions fought hard with rancor, rhetoric, and false accusations that many simply bought into. What the Gov. and Republican legislators wanted and got was that the state cannot pay more than 88% of public employee benefits and that these same employees must pay into their retirement approximately $100 per month, and the BIG one that unions are hating is that employees do not have to automatically have union dues taken out of their paychecks.
That’s what the Gov. and Republicans fought for and that’s what they got. Unions are up in arms. Mr. Obama accused Gov. Walker of trying to break the unions. The unions very likely sent professional (paid) thugs into Wisconsin to act like thugs. In all likelihood, the people who are making the threats are some of these same thugs.
When I go to forums where these issues are discussed, I see some of the same type of comments and near-threats made by people who are uttering the same party line as the unions. They are trying desperately to paint Gov. Walker as a “fascist” or worse. Now, they are threatening him and his family with death…and the media says nothing.
I’m not surprised. I’m annoyed, but I’m not surprised. Does anyone not understand why authentic Christians are going to become increasingly under attack, both verbally, and quite possibly physically? The idea that a person can be conservative in today’s liberal-minded world, simply does not sit well with much of the population. The world finds it annoying, intrusive, obnoxious, and wrong.
The liberal media would rather spend its time liberalizing the rest of the world because the more they get on their side, the easier it will be to overcome any semblance of conservatism left in the world.
I am reminded of the situation during the ministry of the two witnesses written about in the book of Revelation 11. What is fascinating of course, is the fact that the two witnesses are able to protect themselves by being human flamethrowers. They are also able to shut up the heavens to keep it from raining, they can turn water into blood, as well as other judgments they can inflict on the populace.
The question is, why do these witnesses need to have these forms of protection available? Well, it can only be that the people who hear them do not want to hear them. Their message is something that puts people off, annoys them, angers them, and even brings people to the point of wanting to injure or kill these two witnesses.
Isn’t this what occurred with Jesus and the prophets before Him? When people don’t like the message, often the easiest thing to do, is to attack the messenger. By silencing the messenger, the message is also silenced.
However, God will not have His message silenced, or His messengers, until the exact moment of God’s preordained time frame plays itself out. God will do what He wills and man has nothing to say about it.
Once the two witnesses have completed their ministry (which is 3.5 years long), the Antichrist himself is allowed to kill them. Their dead bodies lie in the streets for 3.5 days and the world celebrates! After the 3.5 days, the two witnesses are raised to life and called upward to heaven.
Though the world stares in amazement (and one can only imagine how many times that will be replayed on CNN!), but no one repents.
The world is moving toward destruction. That fact should make you glad that the Bible is true and God is above all.
