The Doctrine of Oneness…

It is impossible to avoid and ignore.  Every where you turn in society, you are hit with the message that we all need to become one.  We need to get along.  We need to focus our thoughts on peace in the world.  We need to understand that together we can accomplish much, while alone we accomplish little.

There are two problems with that.  First, the whole idea of becoming one is the world’s vision and it stems from Babylon in Genesis 1.  There, Nimrod – a hunter of men – gathered everyone around him and led the charge to build a tower that reached the heavens.  All the people then were of one mind and one purpose.  They also spoke one language as well.

God saw what was happening and decided to do something about it.  He caused them to split up and created people groups, with different languages and different cultures.  Everyone went their own way, off to create their own areas of the world with people who spoke their own languages.  I’m sure there are folks who read this who will laugh at it – the idea that everyone spoke the same language and God intervened to create cultures.  Okay, I’m sure evolution has a better answer – right.

The point is that if we focus on the fact that people were trying to do something together, as one, we can see that this is unsettling simply because people are fallen.  Ultimately, people can’t really do anything truly good.  If you look at the Tower of Babel scenario, what was so good about building a tower to the heavens?  Nothing, but it would merely prove to people that they could do it.  They would be emboldened to accomplish whatever they set their minds to do in the future.

Here we are in 2011 and we are hearing the same mantra. In fact, I’ve been hearing it for years and maybe you have too.  “You can do anything you set your mind to,” or “whatever you believe, you can achieve,” and all the rest.

Second, why doesn’t becoming one ever truly involve improving society?  It doesn’t.  In fact, for many, becoming one merely means looking after number one better this year than last.

I look at our politicians and it really does not matter what side of the aisle they are on.  Many of them are out for themselves.  How can they improve their lives?  They square off in the media, they huff and they puff, they act tough when they call some for some type of investigation into the role someone or some company played in something or other.  They pretend they are for the people, when in point of fact, it is nothing more than showmanship, self-aggrandizing behavior that seeks to set themselves apart from others.

Do you see this world becoming more unified?  I don’t.  I see areas of the world continuing to be hot-spots of war and conflict.  I see people at each others throats for the fun of it and I see the rich getting richer, while the poor become poorer.  Oneness does not seem to be working at its root.

For my radio program, I’ve been covering aspects of the New Age and though I knew quite a bit about that area, there is always more to learn.  To that end, I did more research and came across a few interesting comments by one of the people who is believed to be part of the global elite, David Rockefeller.  The Rockefeller family has money, lots of it and they’ve had it for many generations.  What they have is called “old money,” because of the fact that it has been in their family so long.  Those who become rich overnight do not have old money.  Old money has staying power.

About 17 years ago, just prior to Bill Clinton taking office, Rockefeller is quoted as saying, “We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time magazine, and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during these years. But the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government which will never again know war, but only peace and prosperity for the whole of humanity. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in the past centuries.”

Did you catch what he said?  A couple of things jumped out at me.  He said that “they” (the global elite) have created a plan and put it into effect…for the world.  He also said that the day finally arrived in which the world is ready to march toward a global governance.  Big words.  Harrowing words.  Rockefeller also implied that the “intellectual elite and world bankers” will be in charge of that one world government.  How humble of him, isn’t it?  Isn’t that nice?

Rockefeller and others believe that this coming one world government will eliminate war and peace will reign instead, along with prosperity for all.  Really?  Prosperity for all?  Ha, that’s funny.

Look, I do not mind corporations or even big business.  They provide jobs.  Without them, people would not work at all.  We need corporations and businesses who can hire people allowing people to earn a paycheck.  The problem comes in when greed is given opportunity and does so.  This is often at the expense of the average worker.

For much of my life, I have been a member of a union.  Years ago, I was a member of the Teamsters and now I am a member of the teacher’s union.  These unions started out as great things because the worker had no protection at all from the whims of management.  In my view, it has reversed itself and while I cannot speak for the Teamsters since it has been so long that I was a member, I can speak for teacher’s unions.  In fact, many teacher’s unions have made it so difficult for administration to fire poor teachers that most don’t even try.  Fifteen to twenty years ago, it cost on average, $50,000.00 for a school district to get rid of a crappy teacher.  No matter how bad the teacher was, unless there was something illegal in which the teacher was participating, the unions would go to bat for that teacher every time.  This cost the school districts thousands of dollars in legal fees.  Even if the teacher was successfully fired, the school districts could expect some type of lawsuit from the teacher.

Oneness?  Looks like unions only care about the people they serve.  I constantly receive e-mails and printed literature telling me whom I should vote for and the reasons are solely based on educational issues.  It doesn’t matter that candidates might have the worst voting record for this, that, or the other thing.  All that matters is whether or not the candidate supports education or not.

The world is becoming far more splintered than ever before.  There is no oneness, yet people convince themselves that there is just that.  The New Age is big on promoting the notion that you and I are already gods in and of ourselves.  If we would simply spend time meditating on and “praying” the Great Invocation, along with immersing ourselves in doing good works for our fellow human beings, then we would eventually arrive at the ability to live fourth dimensionally.  This means being able to move from our three dimensions to other dimensions effortlessly.  Once we arrive at that point, then we are truly living divinely, according to the New Age.

The New Age has a lot of beliefs that actually denigrate humanity, whether they think so or not.  The true test of any doctrine – especially the doctrine of oneness – is how it aims to bring people together and what it attempts to accomplish for people after doing that.

Rockefeller stated something about “peace and prosperity” for humanity.  Isn’t it a little strange that the means which have been selected to achieve “peace and prosperity for the whole of humanity” involve so much violence, deception, oppression, exploitation, graft, and theft?

If you think visualizing world peace and oneness among the nations is going to make it happen, you are wrong.  It is clear that Satan directs his policies through the New Age movement, aliens, and even the global elite to get what he wants.  He has something in mind and he appears to be playing us and all the countries of the world to reach his goal.  We will talk more about that in future posts.  We need to recognize that God allows what happens here, but He also gives Satan a good deal of leeway in order that His (God’s) purposes will be accomplished.

So what to do?  Well, you know by now that I’m going to say this world will not last anyway, but your soul will.  What you decide here in this life will decide your eternity.
