For Men Will be Lovers of Themselves…

Over the past few days, I have written about one subject:  racism.  That subject is absolutely a hot button for most Americans.  No one likes to be accused of being racist, unless of course they are racist and then I suppose it doesn’t bother them.  I wouldn’t know; we’d have to ask a true racist.

However, there is actually something worse than racism.  It’s when people are falsely charged with racism.  We’ve seen this from before Mr. Obama was elected and more recently, over the past few days with Ed Schultz’ charge (and Al Sharpton’s) that Gov. Rick Perry is racist.  This is because in a recent speech, Perry used the metaphor “black cloud” to describe this country’s massive debt.  I’ve used that figure of speech and probably so have you.  I guess because it has the word “black” in it, it’s no longer acceptable.

In truth, the debt that America has racked up is a black cloud hanging over this nation.  Because of it, our credit for the first time in our history, has been downgraded from a triple-A rating to our current double-A rating. Make no mistake about it, our debt is killing us.  I used the word “killing” as a figure of speech there.  The debt is not actually, physically taking people’s lives.  It is killing our economy with a stranglehold that will be difficult to get out from underneath.  Please don’t take my use of the word “killing” literally, all right?

But, Ed Schultz – instead of agreeing that Rick Perry had a point – chose to take his words out of context.  He blatantly accused Gov. Perry of using the phrase “black cloud” to reference Mr. Obama.  This was completely untrue and anyone who heard the entire audio knew that Perry was not referencing Obama at all, but our nation’s debt.  I’m convinced that even Schultz knows this, but it is more fun to pretend that you don’t know this, so you can apply a different meaning to it, one that suits your own perspective.

Today, Ed Schultz backpedaled, stating that he did not use the entire clip and should have done so.  He then played the entire part of Gov. Perry’s speech in which it becomes patently clear that Perry was referencing the debt and nothing but the debt.  Interestingly enough, Schultz did not apologize for calling Perry a racist.  In fact, he did not even mention that he had referred to the Gov. as a racist previously.  He simply apologized for not playing the entirety of the clip. [1]  This proves that the left have no scruples.  First, they blatantly and falsely accuse someone of being racist, then they simply present the whole picture, ignoring their own previous false charges.

Over the past few days, we have written about this issue of racism, noting that one “DC Insider” (on Ulster Man’s website) has stated that Team Obama is going to use that one issue like never before.  If left unchecked, it will likely take this country back to the days of the Civil Rights movement and before.  Apparently, there is no fear of starting new race riots over Mr. Obama’s re-election bid.  Certainly, that’s not good and if true, tells us a great deal about Mr. Obama and what he thinks of this nation and “white America.”

I also wrote about the fact that at least one individual couldn’t wait to charge me with racism for some of the comments I made previously, which were not racist, but merely my opinion based on facts.  The point is that it is going to become exceedingly easy for the left to charge anyone with racism who does not like or agree with Mr. Obama and his policies.  Let’s face it, that’s all they have because Mr. Obama cannot successfully run for re-election on his record.  If we set aside the issue of race, what does he have?  A worsening economy (and he himself said that if he could not turn our economy around in three and a half years, he doesn’t deserve to be re-elected) that shows no sign of improving and no new jobs.  You can’t count any new government jobs because they do not add to the economy.  They actually take away from the economy because those jobs are paid for by taxpayer dollars.  There is nothing new that’s added to the economy when Federal, or governmental jobs are created.  Mr. Obama has his share of new agencies in the government that have been created during his administration.

It’s anyone’s guess just exactly what Mr. Obama’s foreign policy is because it seems to be in a constant state of flux, except where Israel is concerned.  We know all too well that Mr. Obama is not a friend to Israel and expects them to bend over backwards to do things that he expects no other country or group (including the infamous “Palestinians”) to do.

Just today, we learned that Secretary of State Hilary Clinton presented her demand – ostensibly from Mr. Obama – that Israel should apologize to Turkey regarding the flotilla debacle a year ago.  PM Netanyahu refused and said if anyone should apologize, it should be Turkey.

The world has no real idea what goes on in Gaza.  The liberal media informs us that those in Gaza live as though they have no water, no food, and no sources of income.  The truth is that Gaza is exceedingly wealthy due in large part to the amount of cruise ships that continually come into port there.  They have large shopping malls, huge water parks and the homes are beautiful.

However, we don’t see that in the news.  What we see is something far different because the liberal news is very selective about what they present to the American people.  Most Americans are not interested in doing their own research either so they lap up whatever they are spoon-fed by left-leaning news bureaus and pundits.

Regarding the flotilla, it has been proven beyond doubt (except to those who really aren’t interested in the truth) that when IDF agents from Israel boarded the flotilla, they were met with lethal force.  The IDF opted to defend themselves.  Had the people on board the flotilla not attacked, there would have been no reason for the IDF to defend and fight back.  They were there to double-check and see just exactly what the contents of the flotilla was and being met with force, it became clear that something was amiss.  The entire flotilla thing is a joke.  It is not as if Gaza does not have supplies, or cannot get them.  The people who believe that Israel blocks everything that goes into Gaza are severely deluded.

In essence, we see a world today in which a lie is seen as truth and truth is dismissed as a lie.  Paul, Peter, and Jude speak of these things that will affect society globally in the end times.  Paul is the most articulate and detailed on the subject in 2 Timothy 3:1-5, when he says, “But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.”

Folks, we are at that point.  What we see in society, especially in the political arena, is exactly what Paul described to Timothy.  Men are lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, and the rest.  This is the average politician today.  It is the average news anchor.  It is the averagae individual who chooses the version of “truth” they agree with and truth itself is up for grabs.

Look how much we do not know about Mr. Obama, as merely one example.  The other day, I mentioned that Mr. Obama is Muslim, not Christian.  One individual wrote to take exception to my statement, saying that he thought it had been all but proven that Mr. Obama was not Muslim.

If we but look at the record, the truth (the real truth) should become apparent.  He was not long into office, when he stated that this nation is no longer a Christian nation.  That in and of itself is not necessarily a bad statement to make and in some ways, it is accurate.  It is clear that we have come off our founding moorings.  Yet, there was no desire of our current president to re-establish this nation on the principles with which this country was created by our Founding Fathers.  Mr. Obama made the statement as if there was little to no need to even bother with the U.S. Constitution or Bill of Rights any longer.  The implication that this country has changed so drastically (no longer being a Christian nation) is something that Mr. Obama and others like him use to put forth their progressive (read: Socialist) ideas.

As we follow Mr. Obama’s record, we note that he has essentially done nothing where major Christian holidays are concerned (the Easter egg hunt doesn’t count), yet gives a speech during Ramadan, a holy time for Muslims.  When the National Day of Prayer came around, we note that he stated publicly that he did not want to recognize it because in doing so, it might offend someone in this country.  Instead, he ran off to pray with roughly 50,000 Muslims who just happened to be nearby.  Who is he kidding?  If we know anything about Islam, it seeks to be supreme and ultimately gives no allegiance to anyone or anything except Allah.  Mr. Obama seems to have made his choice.

Beyond this, Mr. Obama will quote from the Qur’an, ostensibly to make Muslims feel welcome, yet the way he knows the Qur’an as well as the many times he has quoted from it (as opposed to the Bible) is suspect. It is also interesting that the ACLU doesn’t seem to mind when Mr. Obama quotes from the Qur’an, but people have already started labeling Gov. Rick Perry for using the phrase “God bless you” at the end of his speech.

Mr. Obama continues to push for Palestinian rights over and against the rights of Israel, wanting them (Israel) to go back to pre-1967 borders and divide up Jerusalem, so that the Palestinians (of course) have East Jerusalem as their capitol, with Israel keeping West Jerusalem.  It should be noted that East Jerusalem is the side that has the Temple Mount.  If this happened, the Wailing Wall (or at least part of it) would be off-limits to Jews.

Since being in office, Mr. Obama has spent taxpayer dollars as if they are from his own bank account.  He has continually outspent what the Federal Gov’t takes in and yet people believe (as one individual told me) that it took more than four years to get into this economic mess and it will take more than four years to get out of it.  The way Mr. Obama is spending Federal dollars, that much is certainly true.  However, I would remind people that Mr. Obama himself said at the very beginning of his term that if he cannot fix the economy in three and a half years, he should not have a second term.  Those are his words, not mine.  Apparently, he did not mean what he said.  Had this been George Bush who said that, you can bet the liberal media would have been all over him, pressuring him to not run for re-election.

Today, what we are seeing is a global society that is founded upon lying and bringing false charges against people because it is politically correct and expedient to do so.  Too many who are simply conservative – wanting smaller government, a huge cut in spending, and fewer taxes – have become the villains simply because we are tired of paying for all of the entitlements that our Federal gov’t hands out daily and the worst part is that much of the entitlements passed out are generational, handed down from one generation to the next.  I’m not referring to Social Security or Medicare, but all the other entitlement programs.

Apparently, it’s the people on these entitlement programs that make up the current 39% who approve of the way Mr. Obama has handled the economy.  They are still receiving their free money, so to them, he is doing a great job.  At all costs, they want to keep someone like Mr. Obama in office, in order to ensure that their free money continues to arrive each month.

Mr. Obama has not only been soft on this nation’s borders, but he has been essentially absent.  Why?  It seems to me that the more illegals who come into this country, the more potential voters he has for his re-election bid.  How could that happen you say?  The DREAM Act which would grant blanket amnesty to illegals already in this country.  Couldn’t happen?  It is happening in California with Gov. Brown’s signature on California’s own version of the DREAM Act for this state.  Beyond this, many illegals have fake I.D.s that allow them to open bank accounts, get driver’s licenses and Social Security cards.  Because of that, they are eligible to vote and our soft-hearted politicians do not want to try to determine whether or not these individuals are legal or illegal.

Many politicians want what they want and they want it for themselves.  Mr. Obama is no different.  Unfortunately, it looks far worse for him because he is the president of this country.

The other day, I watched a video in which a Tea Party member (two of them actually) asked Mr. Obama why those in his administration were calling Tea Partiers “terrorists.”  Joe Biden is said to have either said it or not disagreed with it and it is common knowledge that Janet Napolitano has said it.  In both cases, Mr. Obama denied that either of these two individuals said it.  He essentially lied, but could probably claim innocence later if faced with the actual video footage or documentation.

I believe we are most definitely in the End Times.  I believe that the Tribulation (the seven-year period spoken of by Daniel in Daniel 9:27) is right around the corner.  How soon it will begin, I have no clue, but things seem to be ramping toward the start of that event.

I believe because we are in the End Times, we are seeing and experiencing what Paul talks about in 2 Timothy 3:1-5.  People have become absolute lovers of themselves, proud, arrogant, boastful, revilers and all the rest.  We are seeing this right in front of us on the news and in daily life.

My wife and I were talking about this last night.  It is one thing to simply read words from the Scriptures, but to see it take place before you is something else altogether.

We are seeing the rise of “flash mobs,” made up of groups of young people who simply start beating on people, or robbing stores as a mob.  Recently, a mob of young people went into a convenience store in Connecticut and took what they wanted and left.  The store owner was helpless and it’ll be some time before the individuals are rounded up by the police if at all.  These types of situations give these mobs a sense of superiority and invulnerability so they will continue to do it.  Why should they stop?

In the United Kingdom, riots have been raging for some time now.  On one video taken by a couple of girls from a building overlooking part of the rioting, they were heard to say that they can do this (riot) because it tells the rich they (rioters) can do anything they want to do.  Okay, but how does any of this solve problems?  It doesn’t.  It merely creates more problems.

People today are without self-control.  If they feel like doing something, they will do it.  They just do not care what the established order is because they will do what they want, when they want and if anyone gets in their way, prepare for a beat down.

So what is going to happen from here?  Obviously, if DC Insider is telling us the truth, things are going to get worse, especially with respect to race relations.  Team Obama seems determined to create an artificial situation in which race relations are thrown back to before the Civil Rights movement of the sixties.  What will that do?  I can only imagine because we are seeing a small taste of it now.  The real problem is that racism does exist in this country.  There is no need to artificially create it.

Recently, a black man was beaten by white youths and then run over and killed in Mississippi.  That is real racism!  That is unconscionable and the perpetrators should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.  The individual driving the truck that ran over and killed the black man should face the death penalty.  To simply take someone’s life as they did because the man was black shows us how bad racism can get and that it still exists in America.

What people like Ed Schultz are doing with respect to Gov. Perry, is creating a racial situation that does not exist.  This is a sham and will ultimately have a negative impact on the real racism that continues to exist in this country.

As I said before, Mr. Obama has done nothing to improve race relations and if the DC Insider is telling us the truth (as referenced in an earlier post), it is clear that he has chosen a course which will pit the races against one another.  He is going to do that in order to win a re-election bid.  Can you believe it?  That is tragic.  Because he is a completely inept president, he knows he cannot hang his hat on the economy that has not improved.  His foreign policy is abysmal with the entire world laughing at us, leaving him one thing and one thing only: race.  That’s his winning ticket, race.  So all the white people in America who are afraid of being called racist will vote for Obama.  I will not.  I did not vote for him the first time and I will not vote for him this next time.  He did not share my principles or beliefs then and does not now.

If Mr. Obama really wanted to do something good for this country, he would simply not run again.  As we learned from DC Insider, he contemplated it, but was talked out of it.  He is in a job he hates because he likely thought it would be a great gig.  He learned the hard way that it is not a great gig at all.

I’m certainly not saying (by the way) that Mr. Obama is stupid.  I don’t believe that for a moment.  I’m sure he is very intelligent; however, just because a person is intelligent, it does not mean that he or she will be good as president.  There are plenty of intelligent people who would likely be abject failures in the office of president or in any area of politics for that matter.

It’s too bad that Mr. Obama did not go with his desire to simply not run again.  It’s too bad that his handlers talked him out of it.  Further, it’s too bad that he has resorted to using a tactic that could win him the re-election, but at what cost to this country?  It’s simply cowardly.  The real tragedy is that it stifles those who have legitimate concerns about his lack of leadership because to say anything against the man pits the person not against the man, but against his race, at least if left-leaning news bureaus and pundits have anything to say about it.

Moreover, if Mr. Obama does not win his bid for re-election after running a campaign based on race only, what will his loss do to this country?  I can only imagine what will happen then.

Paul was right when he said that there will be terrible times in the End Times.  We are certainly living them and unfortunately, the worst appears yet to come.
