School Textbooks: Another Example of Stealth Jihad

Just today a report was published by CAN (Christian Action Network). The 57-page report highlighted efforts of the Islamic community to penetrate the minds of students in public schools with propaganda that is intended to make Islam appear to be something that it is not.
While Imams and other Muslims might disagree with the reasoning behind such a study, it is difficult to downplay the truth of it. When I was a public school teacher in California, I particularly noticed this trend with textbooks. Rather than teach actual history, the tendency was to “clean up” certain aspects of history so that only the positive was presented. In some cases, things were actually made up about a group or culture to show them in the best possible light.
The study begins with an appeal to awareness. “Students in K-12 schools lack the experience and skills to validate most of what they hear, easily absorb propaganda, tend to believe what their textbooks and teachers tell them, and form opinions that are difficult to change once established. Zealous promoters of Islam trying to win the hearts and minds of these children with their messages are well aware of these factors. All Floridians should be, too.
In mid-2008, Citizens for National Security – a Florida nonprofit, 501(c)(3) Public Charity – assembled a volunteer Task Force to learn about and evaluate Islamic efforts to exert their influence in Florida’s public schools. In this initial report, CFNS focuses exclusively on “flawed” K-12 history and geography textbooks. Flawed textbooks are defined, within the context of this study, as those that include egregious errors, glaring omissions, questionable inclusions,
or political, ethnic, cultural and other biases that clearly seek to foster an Islamic agenda.
Although agenda-based campaigns to shape textbook content have existed
for some time, the past decade has seen particularly aggressive and intense overt and stealth efforts by proponents of Islam to inject their beliefs into public K-12 classrooms via textbooks and associated material. Concerned parents and educators in California and Texas – the top two state purchasers of instructional materials – have had the most experience in recognizing and mitigating these attempts.” [1]
Anyone who cares anything about our children and what they learn in taxpayer-supported public schools should be aware of reports like these. The table of contents is as follows:
It is indepth in digging up the potential problems and how the Islamic community has been able to get to the publishers in order that the history of Islam might be “whitewashed.”
What is of course tragic, is that in many places, it is not simply that Islam is presented in a fashion where facts are distorted or omitted, but Israel is often seen as the aggressor in many situations, which of course, highlight Islam as simply being placed in the position of having to defend itself against the aggressor (Israel). Here are a few examples.
“While the United Nations granted the Palestinians their own homeland, the
Israelis seized much of that land, including the West Bank and Gaza Strip, during its various wars.” 31 [emphasis in original]” [2]
This is a complete distortion of the actual facts. Moreover, when Israel became a nation again in 1948, Arabs were at that point offered a two-state solution which they declined to accept and continue to reject it. While they say they want a two-state solution, it is very clear from many leaders within the Arab nations in the Middle East that they want Israel completely eradicated from that area once and for all.
Another example also places Israel in a negative and untrue light. “1967. Israel wins Six-Day War and seizes more Palestinian land for what it calls
security purposes.” [3] [emphasis added]
The bolded phrase is completely untrue, yet it is presented as though it represented fact.
So much of the verbiage utilized in many statements like those above makes it literally impossible for students in grades K-12 to think objectively about the situations. Their minds are already made up for them because of the way the books are written.
Here is an example of how information about Muhammad is presented as opposed to how information about Jesus is presented.
“Muhammad’s teachings, which are the revealed word of God…, are found in the holy book called the Qur’an.”
“According to the New Testament, Jesus of Nazareth was born around 6 to 4 B.C.”
“According to Jesus’ followers, he rose from the dead….” [4]
Look at the sentences above carefully. Please note how qualifiers are used in describing the events surrounding Jesus (according to), yet no such qualifiers are used with reference to Muhammad (Muhammad’s teachings, which are the revealed word of God…).
These types of characterizations force feed impressionable young people so that they simply accept without critical analysis what they are reading. One might even argue that there are many who complain of a separation of church and state, while the information surrounding Jesus is not taught as fact, the information pertaining to Muhammad is taught as fact. Since the information surrounding Jesus and Muhammad cannot be proven, then it is clear that the school districts who use these books and the publishers who produce them become complicit in not keeping church separate from the state.
Why are there unequivocal statements in any textbook used by taxpayer-supported public schools regarding any religious book or person? Why is the information reflective of Muhammad presented as fact, while the information presented as Jesus is not? Why should any of it be presented as fact and if anything should be presented as fact, why not the information connected to Jesus since this nation was founded upon Christian principles not Islamic ones?
Should the reader believe that this is merely an exception to the rule, then I would strongly suggest downloading your own free copy of this report. This can be done here: https://www.christianaction.org/node/161
Please note that you will be required to provide your first and last name as well as your e-mail address, but you can opt out of future mailings or being placed on a mailing list. The report is well worth the read.
This entire problem is a perfect example of how stealth jihad works. Islam intends to gain the minds of young people because they know that once young people become nurtured to accept one particular viewpoint as truth, it is difficult to change it.
There really is absolutely no reason why Islam’s leaders would want to be able to persuade textbook publishers to present Islam in a way that omits much of the negativism, while at the same time, shining the light of blame onto Jews. Moreover, while Islam is presented as truth, qualifiers are used in the presentation of information surrounding Christianity, which of course leads people to think that the information connected to Christianity is merely opinion while the information connected to Muhammad/Islam is actual fact.
This is wrong and I dare say, it would not be tolerated if Christians got the ear of textbook publishers. In fact, not long ago people were up in arms when some wanted Creationism taught in schools. Yet the idea of falsifying history so that Islam is seen in a grand light hardly creates a blip on the radar.
I believe that it is due to the fact that most Americans are of the opinion, “So, what does it hurt? Let Islam say what it wants about Islam.” That’s not the point at all. History books should be written with as little bias as possible and while it is not possible to have a history report written by a person who has no bias at all, the last thing we need is for Islam to be rewriting history to suit themselves while textbook publishers go along with it. These same people who believe that all this pro-Islamic bias is nothing to worry about would be the first ones to complain if it was Christianity that was attempting to present itself in such a fashion.
Ultimately, I agree with Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch. He does not believe that Sharia Law will really catch on here in America. That is only due to the work of people like him, Pamela Geller, and many others who are doing all they can to keep Islam from fully encroaching into the fabric of America. If we let our guards down completely, Islam will gain much more than a foothold.
We are seeing what Islam has resorted to with the bias they have managed to instill in textbooks during the production process. I’m glad that someone like CAN is on the ball and keeping abreast of the situation. Of course, people will continue to refer to them as bigots and whatnot, in spite of the truth they present to the public.
This seems to be the way it is for the majority of people in America. They think they have more important things to worry about and yes, obviously employment and putting food on the table is extremely important. However, other things cannot be ignored in the meantime. It can be mind-boggling to sit down and realize just how many things are clamoring for our attention. We need to stop, digest, and then decide what we can do and then we must do it.
I believe there are many radical Islamists in this country who are working tirelessly to bring it down. Unfortunately, it would seem as though a number of them are highly placed within the Obama Administration, if what we have learned from others is true. These people should not be there because their loyalties are not there. At the same time, I’m not convinced Mr. Obama’s loyalties are with this country either.
Stealth jihad is rarely seen until after it has had its effect. Like actual, physical jihad, the result is plain, but the planning of it is not so plain. How many Americans are aware that our major aspects of our public school history textbooks have been taken over?
I will remind the reader once more of the statement by Omar Ahmad, co-founder of CAIR who essentially stated that Islam is not here in the United States to be equal with any other religion. It is here to dominate all other religions. This is my paraphrase and this is from a co-founder of a non-profit organization that is here in America and seeks to instill within society the lies that Islam is not a danger, Islam is not a threat, and Islam is really your friend. While there are certainly Muslims who are seemingly peaceful, the realty is that we simply do not know who they are because they never speak up.
In my last blog, I quoted from an imam who among other things, stated how sad he was that we couldn’t focus on the similarities between our religions, instead of the differences. That is asinine, yet it obviously does fool some people, including leaders in the so-called evangelical community.
Jesus and Muhammad have nothing in common. The God that authentic Christians worship is not the god that Muslims worship. There is no connection at all. We use a different book, we worship different deities, we have completely different values and belief systems and though both Christians and Muslims venerate Abraham, Muslims believe that the promised son was Ishmael while Christians understand the promised son to be Isaac, from whom the twelve tribes and the nation of Israel eventually arose.
I cannot think of anything that would cause me to want to worship with Muslims simply because there is no connection. While I have heard Muslims tell me that “Allah” is simply a name which means “God,” that in and of itself does not mean that our religions connect in any way, shape, or form.
They reject the idea that Jesus is God the Son. They reject the trinity (mainly because they misunderstand it, thinking that the trinity is made up of three separate Gods. This of course, would be polytheism. The Trinity is ONE God in three separate Persons. How? I have no idea, but there are a lot of things about God that I know I do not understand and will not understand in the next life either. God is infinite. How would it be possible for finite human beings to understand the actual nature of an infinite God? It is arrogance to believe we can beyond what He has shared about Himself.
No, there really are no similarities between Islam and authentic Christianity. None. If there were, then one would not be needed would it? Moreover, both would merely be ideologies. If Jesus is God, that rules out everything and everyone else.
Islam says Jesus was a prophet. He was a prophet, but He was also (and remains) God the Son. Muhammad is considered to be a prophet (Allah’s final prophet to humanity). Even if that was true, Muhammad was never God or God’s Son.
The idea that Christians and Muslims can worship together based on alleged similarities is merely another lie and it is tragic that many Muslims believe that lie. This is another instance of Islam wanting to indoctrinate the world by pretending to be something that it is not.
Throughout the world, we see the desperate acts of radical Islamic extremists. But more and more we are seeing Muslims who are sicking police officers on other Muslims and Christians. Check this short radio excerpt out here:
Please note what is going to take place within a few weeks here in America when representatives of Islamic councils will come here and push for the initiation of hate-crimes in America against Islam.
