Jesus Christ IS God…

He’s NOT a swear word!

My wife and I were returning home from a trip and passed a semi with the message “Jesus Christ is Lord.  Not a swear word” on the side of the trailer in huge lettering.

I couldn’t help but be impressed and it made me think.  He’s not only Lord but He is God.  I know there are plenty of people who disagree with that, but that’s because they do not understand what the Bible says.  They pick and choose and lift out of context, but when Scripture is allowed to interpret Scripture, the only real conclusion one can arrive at is that Jesus claimed on numerous occasions to BE equal TO God, literally making Him God.

In other words, when He said “Before Abraham was, I AM” in John 8:58, the Jews knew what He was saying.  This is why they wanted to kill Him because they knew He was making Himself equal to God.  The fact that Jesus does not immediately try to “correct” Himself says that He either had a death wish or was/is God.

The problem most have is that it is difficult for humanity to wrap their minds around the idea that God can be incarnated into human flesh.  We expect God to roll back the heavens, parting the sky, and riding into our view on a flaming horse backed by millions of angels.  We expect God to be so fearful that we would immediately wish to die to escape His presence (as if dying could do that).

I’m very aware of what Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, Islam, and others teach about Jesus.  The problem is that each of these religions/ideologies teach something that is based on something ELSE.  In each of the three cases mentioned above, a person came along and essentially taught that Jesus was NOT God, but at most He was A god.  Islam teaches that He was a messenger of Allah.  That bothers me because He was NOT a messenger of Allah.

It also bothers me that Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons believe that Jesus was merely a TYPE of god (small “g”), but not VERY God.  These people have a very interesting way of trivializing the Bible, placing their own writings above it, though they would deny it.

In each case, these people believe that the Bible has been corrupted by man, yet THEIR particular writings are error-free.  Apparently, God was not strong enough to supersede man’s shortcomings to create and keep His holy Word pure.  He only managed to do that with the specific writings of Jehovah’s Witnesses (New World Translation), Mormons (Book of Mormon), and Islam (Qur’an).

I know, I know.  People will say I’m being critical of these other religions. Yes and no.  I’m holding their beliefs up to QUESTION, not ridicule.  I’m using THEIR rationale to show how weak their own arguments are in the end.

If you read any number of passages in the biblical text, it is very difficult to come away (unless you approach Scripture with a certain frame of reference) from these passages believing that they do not teach that Jesus was/is God.

For instance, Hebrews 1:1-8 says this:

“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

 2Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

3Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

4Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

5For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

6And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

7And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

8But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.”

Note that the writer of Hebrews tells us that in “these last days,” God spoke through His Son.  Note verse 3 which tells us that Jesus is “the express image of His Person.”  Folks, the writer is saying that Jesus is a mirror image of God.  What THAT means is that He IS God.

Note verse 8, which has God speaking to God – “Thy Throne, O God, is for ever…”  Psalm 2 does this same thing with God speaking among Himself.

There are so many examples in the Bible of Jesus acting like God, speaking like God and more than implying that He is God, it makes it difficult to ignore.  Yet people continue to ignore it.

Moreover, no other religious leader has ever become a swear word as far as I know.  Only Jesus.  He is the only One who has that “privilege” apparently.  That also tells me something.

Using the precious and holy Name of Jesus as a swear word came from no other place except the pit of hell.  Satan won’t waste his time trying to get people to use “Muhammad,” or “Confucius,” or “Buddha” as swear words.  What’s the point?  These are just men.  They did not come to die on a cross in order that the problem of sin might be settled.  Only Jesus did that and more than one religious ideology downplays or denies that He died on the cross, which is the central theme of the Bible, by the way, going all the way back to Abraham in Genesis, when he was called on to sacrifice his son, Isaac, the son of promise (cf. Genesis 22).

Atheists amaze me because they never see their own faults, though they are so quick to point out any perceived fault of the religionist.  I’ve heard atheists use the Name of Jesus as a swear word in one breath and in the next, they’ll tell you how much they respect people’s religion as long as it remains private.  They’re liars.  If they REALLY respected my relationship with Jesus, they would NOT use His Name as a swear word, or the generic form – God.

Am I going to threaten their lives because of it? Nope.  Am I going to pray that God will kill them?  Nope.  Am I going to ask God to rain down fire and brimstone?  Nope.

I’m going to continue to PRAY for them because they are completely blind.  I will let God work in them should He choose to do so.  It is no skin off my nose if they use His Name as an epithet.  I don’t like it.  It tends to bother me, but that’s as far as it goes.  They are directing their words at God whether they think so or not.  God will deal with it.

Jesus Christ is God.  He is NOT a swear word.  That is the reality I wish existed.  I already know He’s God.  I also know that He is a favorite swear word and sometimes, the speaker will even give Him a middle initial – “H” – if he is REALLY feeling the moment when Jesus’ Name rolls off his tongue as a epithet.

This world, far from evolving into something better, is devolving into something incredibly evil.  Satan’s imprint is seen all over our society and the world.  I guarantee it will become worse?  How do I know?  Because the Bible tells me so.  It’s that simple.

If anyone wants to respond to this, feel free, but know that I will take apart what you say if it is a rebuttal to what I’ve written here, with a fine tooth comb.  I’ve read all the arguments for and against Christ’s deity.  I’m completely unimpressed with the those who argue against His deity.  They sound like children trying to explain physics.  Why THEY think that sound intelligent, the truth of the matter is that they are far from it.  Their convoluted and self-absorbed way of trying to explain away Jesus’ deity shows them for what they are – atheistic in their belief, even if they somehow believe in some type of god.

Oh, by the way, IF I choose to respond at all…

Jesus is God.  The Bible is clear.  He was not “begotten” in the sense that we think of it.  He was appointed or labeled.  Like begets like.  God could not have a “Son” without that Son being the express image of the Father.  That means, in layman’s terms, that any Son God begets is equal to Him in substance and Person.  It can be no other way, sorry if you think so.

God, Jesus and Sea Water Analogy.
Sea water is deep and wide with vast expanses; man alone cannot know the whole of sea. That is how God is, incomprehensible. But have that same sea water in a container; you can be able to start understanding the sea water. The Sea Water Contained can say, “I came forth from the Sea…” John 16:28a. It can also say, “I, Contained Sea Water, Am one with the Sea Water” John 10:30. Just as Sea Water will put off fire when poured over it, So will the Contained Water from Sea. Just as tunas will thrive in the Sea, so will they thrive in this Contained Sea Water. The Sea Water is salty, so is the Contained Sea water which comes from the Sea. Know therefore, the Sea Water is likened unto God and the Contained Sea Water is likened unto the Son of God. Although this is a poor analogy, finite mind will easily understand with this example. This Contained Sea Water never accumulated dirt/soil (sin) and can cleanse other waters which came from Sea Water and accumulated dirt/soil. These „other waters‟ are men, because men come forth from God; God is the ultimate Father of all flesh, up to Adam, the first man. That is not to say God is like man, NO.
The name that the Sea Water has is the name that the Contained Sea water owns. YahuShua is the name of God given to His only begotten Son, whom we call Jesus Christ, the Nazarene. God told His servant Moses His name is YaHuWaH, for ever that is His name and a memorial unto all generations (Exodus 3:15). He reiterated His name to His servant Isaiah saying, “I am YaHuWaH: that is My name: and My glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images (Isaiah 42:8).” The Sea Water name is the Contained Sea Water name; YahuShua is YaHuWaH!
The Sea Water is the only water that there is. Others are forms of this Source; rain water, river water, spring water and lake water all have their primal origin from Sea Water! YaHuWaH is the only God that there is, YaHuWaH is One and besides Him there is no God (Isaiah 45:5).
The bible says YahuShua (The Son) created everything, “All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made” in John 1:3 and Colossians 1:15-19. It is true that it is God who created everything! The Father has called the Son, God in Hebrews 1:8a, “But unto the Son He saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever…” The Son, YahuShua has His Father as His God in John 20:17b, “…I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.” He was talking to Mary, after His resurrection. God is the only Savior, besides Him, there is no other Savior (Isaiah 43:11), but we see YahuShua as the Savior all over in the Gospel! Are there any contradictions in all these verses? NO. YahuShua and YaHuWaH are One, the Contained Sea Water and the Sea Water are One! The bible says (1st John 4:14)…The Father has sent the Son to be Savior of the world!
It was the intention of the Sea Water, through the Contained Sea Water (His Form/Image) be known and understood to all others who come from It, the Source. All attempts to know the Sea Water without the Contained Sea Water is futile endeavor, leading to confusion and pain. Will you know God without Jesus? Don‟t bet on this! YahuShua said, “…he that hath seen Me hath seen the Father…” (John 14:9b). Honor YahuShua the Mashiach and you ultimately honor God. Reject Yahushua as the Savior of men and Lord and you forfeit eternal life, dying a sinner!
Return the Contained Sea Water into the Sea and behold, there is no difference between It and the Sea Water. Fetch anywhere in that Sea Water and you have the Contained Sea Water again! Sea Water to be known and understood by others, it will be contained otherwise It floods everything thereby destroying them. Although God is incomprehensible, He is wise. He chose to be known to His intelligent creatures (angels and men) in a form easily understandable; the Angel of the Lord, the Anointed One, the Holy One of Israel, the Messiah, the Word of God, the Son of God, YahuShua/Jesus etc. YahuShua is the Wisdom of God. He, YahuShua Has today declared, “I, alone, dwell in the unapproachable light with The Father. I, alone, am The Father manifest in creation, Immanu El.” Even He has said, “Be deceived no longer…You are My body and of My body. That, by which you were formed, is that which I am…YaHuWaH… He who causes to be…Behold, I am also The Son of Man!… YahuShua.”
The Son of man once prayed to His Father in John 17:3, “and this is life eternal, that they may know You, as the only True God, and YahuShua the Mashiach whom You have sent”
Although my analogy may not truly express the mystery of God, His Son and men, you now get a glimpse of what the bible is saying to us finite creatures. Only the Spirit of God can open up your heart to the things of God. While this Truth comes as a bombshell, let it be Light, Freedom and Knowledge to all seekers of truth. It can determine life or death!
Arise, O man and know the true God and His Son, only through The Nazarene (Messiah), because that is Life Eternal. Amen.
