Pastor Yousef, the Qur’an, and the Enemies of Freedom

Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani sits in a jail in Iran awaiting his death penalty to be carried out.  His crime? He is a Christian. The Iranian government believes that Yousef was once Muslim (though he denies it) and became a Christian. The penalty for leaving Islam (to become anything, including an agnostic or atheist) is death.

So, here we sit, waiting to see what happens.  Nothing from the White House, though they were quick to condemn the military for burning the Qur’ans.  Interestingly enough, it now appears as though the prisoners were using their Qur’ans to post notes to other prisoners. Islamic law maintains that if someone writes in a Qur’an, then it should be burned.

However, the U.S. soldiers who burned the Qur’an were instead fired upon (with the resultant deaths of two and injuries to four others).  The individual who did the shooting was said to have been an Afghan military man, of whom we are told was later killed.  I don’t believe he was killed at all.  Why would he be?  If the U.S. soldiers killed him and reported it that way, it would be believable, but since Afghan officials are the ones who reported his death, it’s questionable at best.  He is probably safe and sound, treated as a hero among family and friends.

Since the burning and the apology by Mr. Obama, things have heated up in the world.  Demands by the Taliban to kill foreigners has gone out and now groups are saying that only the White House burning down would make things even.  That tells me that someone, somewhere will try a desperate move to burn the White House down.  They won’t succeed, but I wouldn’t put it past some radical somewhere to think he has a shot at it.

On top of all this, Stand Up for America Now, along with Dr. Terry Jones have promised to burn every Qur’an they can find along with images of Muhammad if Pastor Yousef’s death sentence is carried out.  I’m not sure that this will help, but I am sure that some will feel better after having done so.

People are frustrated.  They are feeling as though they are being hemmed in from all sides by radicals who are – for all practical purposes – living in the A.D. 600 – 700s.  If one considers what is happening in the world, the world is essentially being asked and expected to kowtow to groups of people who want to turn back the hands of time to the 6th-7th centuries.

Many within Islam want there to be no freedom of speech, no freedom of religion, and no personal freedoms of any kind unless those freedoms perfectly coincide with the Qur’an.  The worst part of all of this is to see how too many political leaders are giving Islam what Islam craves – the freedom to live their religious ideology and to heck with everyone else.

In France, we’ve known for some time that Muslims in large groups are given to praying in the streets because they say they need a bigger mosque.  Yet it is clear from locals that many of the Muslims praying in the streets are driving in from other areas.  They wind up blocking traffic – vehicular and pedestrian – so that they can pray and God help anyone who crosses their human blockade.

The same thing has been happening in the U.K. for some time and of course, the trouble is that once these things begin to happen, it is difficult if not impossible to stem the tide and turn the hands back to a time before these events began taking place.

No one is saying that Muslims should not be allowed to worship as they see fit.  However, when their worship infringes on the rights of others, they have crossed the line.  When their reverence for Allah or Muhammad encroaches on the freedoms of those who are not part of Islam, the line has been crossed.

Where are the leaders with the strength of character to say “NO” to Islam for the sake of all those who are not Islamic?  They are few and far between.  It has become easier and more expedient for leaders to give into the demands of Islam.  What they fail to realize is that by doing so, those within Islam will become emboldened to demand more.  Does it ever stop?  It will not stop until Islam gets full sway over society.  I call that the Tribulation or hell on earth, which seems to be the same thing.

I am not knocking Islam at all.  What I have a difficult time with is when their religious ideologies push against me.  Here in America, people have certain unalienable rights.  If Islam has its way, those rights will be gone and people seem unaware that it could happen.

Frankly, other than simply pushing back against Islam through legislation, the courts, and peaceful protests, I’m not sure what to do.  Praying is a given, yet I’ve had no clear understanding from the Lord what He would do or is doing.

If we look at the book of Revelation, we learn of multitudes of people who wind up giving their lives up as martyrs for the cause of Jesus.  These people wind up dying through beheading, which is Islam’s favored way (not the only way, but the favored way) of executing infidels.  If that is a reference to Islam without mentioning Islam, then it is clear that Islam must grow even larger before it diminishes.

Some people think Islam will eventually go away.  No, it won’t go away all by itself.  It will only stop advancing when it comes up against people who are unwilling to allow it passage.

Pastor Yousef waits to see what will befall him, all because he had the temerity to become a Christian.  It is 2012 and this situation is unbelievable.  However, since 9/11, Islam has grown in its desire to overtake the world with the final Caliphate (Islamic rule worldwide).  Islam has become emboldened and those radicals within Islam fully believe that Allah is on their side.  They believe as they continue the assault on free societies, they will be blessed.

I don’t believe Allah and the God of the Judeo-Christian Bible are the same.  In fact, I believe Allah is satanically-inspired.  If that is the case, then the two cannot be the same.

God allows Satan the opportunity to rule as if he will own this piece of planet forever.  His days are numbered, though in spite of that, his resolve remains stalwart.

What’s pushing Islam is not the God of the Bible.  He is allowing Islam’s growth.  What’s behind the growth of Islam is Satan himself.  I’m sure that bothers Muslims who read this but the tragedy is that there is no way that the Bible and the Qur’an are complementary of one another.  Allah is a god of hatred and anger.  The God of the Bible is a God of love who deals fairly with people, even those who continue to reject Him.

If Pastor Yousef is executed, then I have no reason to doubt that Qur’ans and images of Muhammad will start to burn throughout the United States and elsewhere.  It will simply inflame the already inflamed hearts of radical Muslims everywhere.  Will it help?  Probably not, but it will send a message; a message that says people are tired of being pushed into a corner by the violence of radical Muslims.  While civilized people will not pick up arms and strap on explosive devices as do radical Muslims daily, they will resort to protests, even if those protests mean possibly inviting more wrath from radicals.

Unfortunately, Islam has provided the world with no way to win.  If we give them what they want, they will continue to push against us for even more.  If we don’t give them what they want, they will take that as a sign to become even more violent.

It appears as though the point of no return has been passed.  Radical Muslims are emboldened and see no reason to back down.  They are not afraid to die for their cause (oh, and neither am I) and in fact, look forward to their foray through death’s door into a world they believe will reward them with 70 virgins.

The idea that you can kill innocent people (they call us “infidels”) and be rewarded for that is asinine to say the least, yet they believe it and because of that, it is what they live for.  The civilized person says, “Look, let’s sit down and see if we can work this out.” The uncivilized person looks to violence and rhetoric to achieve their goals. It is impossible to deal in a responsible way with the violently obsessed individual because that’s what they know.  Life is either black or white; there are no gray areas for them.

I pray for Pastor Yousef. I know that he probably does not want to die and leave behind a wife and two young boys.  Ultimately, it’s in the Lord’s hands and like Judas of old, though he was used by God to betray Jesus, he (Judas) was specifically culpable for his actions.

Just so, though Pastor Yousef’s life is in the Lord’s hands, those who take his life (if it comes to that) will be held accountable by the God they hate, but think they know.

I’m not sure how much more society can take from radical Muslims.  At the same, they seem to be just getting warmed up and they are the enemies of freedom.

Fred, you can delete this afterwards but I would be very interested in a post sometime on your views about the separate of Church and State, in light of Sanatorium’s recent speech on the issue. It would seem to combine both your interests in Christianity (especially the attacks on it) and politics.

      Hi Simon,

Specifically what part of Santorum’s speech are you referring to?

Can you provide me with a link to the speech, Simon?
