Romney Was Aggressor
I really wasn’t intending to write about last night’s debate, so I’ll keep this short. That’s two for two! Whoo hoo!
It was interesting to see a somewhat defensive Mr. Obama attempt to outsmart Romney. It really didn’t work. In the days before the 2008 election, Mr. Obama was cocky, created to be that way by a media that had fallen in love with him. He had no real record and had not been proven yet. He had everything to gain and nothing to lose.
The tables were somewhat turned last night because Mr. Obama now has a record and for conservatives, it’s not a good one at all. He relied on attempting to once again, lay blame on Bush for what he inherited when he took office. Truth be told, Bush was not the greatest president and he did leave a deficit that Mr. Obama would need to tackle.
Unfortunately, in spite of Mr. Obama’s promise to cut the deficit in half during his first term, he more than quadrupled it. There appears to be no end in sight either and as Romney rightly pointed out, Mr. Obama has had nearly four years to right wrongs, but has progressively made things worse.
Mr. Obama was also wrong on Romney’s alleged 5 trillion-dollar tax plan, something that Romney pointed out on at least three occasions that he had no such plan. Romney explained what his plan actually was, yet Mr. Obama seemed unable to process it, repeatedly referring to Romney’s 5 trillion-dollar tax plan. What would have been good is if Mr. Obama could have quoted something somewhere that backed up his charge. He wasn’t able to do that.
MSN said that Romney was the aggressor. Chris “Mr. Tingly” Matthews asked “Where was Obama?” Numerous Dems believe Obama lost last night’s debate.
Romney certainly appeared sincere and would not fold. He in fact, did appear to be the aggressor, keeping Mr. Obama on the defensive and even on the ropes several times throughout the evening. As I said, it was interesting to see a version of Mr. Obama that was no longer cocky, no longer smiling ear to ear after stating platitudes that turned out to be just that.
Of course, the larger question is whether or not last night’s debate will change anyone’s mind? I hardly think so. At best, those who are undecided may move over to Romney’s side in spite of any perceived “sketchiness” on his part.
I have noted that many on the Left are screaming about this, that or the other thing. They favor Mr. Obama, yet I see not one of them lining up to hand over more of their hard-earned cash. Michael Moore – worth an estimated 50 million hasn’t signed over any money yet and prefers to associate himself with the Occupy Movement – you know, the jobless wonders who defecate on police cars and leave trash wherever they gather.
Last night’s debate showed us that Mr. Obama really has no answers. How could he? Marxism and Socialism simply don’t work. America is a Constitutional Republic and employs democracy as a means to improve society. It’s a place where capitalists like Michael Moore can come out with millions while decrying the excesses that they often either create or take advantage of, all the while attempting to pretend they really are for “the man.”
Last night’s debate was interesting. Whether Romney will make a better president than Obama remains to be seen. One thing is certain. Mr. Obama has not worked. He has not created jobs and he has excelled at spending money; money this country does not have. It needs to stop and if Mr. Obama is re-elected, we can be assured that it will not stop, but continue.
I say we allow Mr. Obama to step aside and give the reigns to Romney. He has a plan. It appears to be workable, but it too might fail. We know what Mr. Obama’s plan is and we know that it is a failure, yet he brings nothing else to the table. That should tell all of us that something else is needed.
For better or worse, I say it’s over, Mr. Obama. Step aside because someone else is actually willing to take on the HUGE mess that you created and try to correct the problem before this country reaches a point of absolute no return.
In just a few weeks, God’s choice will become clear. I have no idea who the Lord will have this nation elect. None. I’m hoping for good change, but the reality is that whatever God decides is good, whether I fully understand that or not. It’s in His hands and under His guidance. He knows what is best and He will accomplish it.
