NJ Dems Caught on Open Mic on Guns: Confiscate, Confiscate, Confiscate

Recently, several of us conservatives were tweeting about an issue when someone from the left decided to drop in with a one-liner that I’m sure he thought was obvious as well as funny. I have since blocked the person so I’m unable to go back to retrieve the actual tweet.

One thing he left us with was his belief that we on the right constantly assume the government is coming for our guns and before we know it, the black helicopters will be flying overhead to round us all up as well. This is what those on the left do because it’s easier than engaging in honest discourse. Of course, not all on the left are that way, but it seems that the majority of them are and it makes for impossible discussion. When someone on the left resorts to ridicule and denigration (as they are wont to do), they are essentially refusing to engage in intelligent dialogue, but would rather act like 8-year-olds on the school grounds (no offense to mature 8-year-olds meant). The left also has a tendency to forget things…a lot.

After the New Jersey Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee hearing this past Thursday, May 9th, Democrats were heard talking about gun control. Apparently, they did not realize that microphones were still on. Audio was recorded and placed up on YouTube where you can hear it for yourself.

The actual transcribed text from that audio is below.

“We needed a bill that was going to confiscate, confiscate, confiscate.”

“They [gun owners] want to keep the guns out of the hands of the bad guys, but they don’t have any regulations to do it.”

“They don’t care about the bad guys. All they want to do is have their little guns and do whatever they want with them.”

“That’s the line they’ve developed.”

Actually, we do care about the bad guys, but we’re also intelligent enough to know that no amount of gun laws will make a difference where bad guys are concerned. We also care about law-abiding citizens’ rights. But the government is not interested in taking our guns, right? We hear this from the left all the time, while they continue trying to make new laws that squeeze law-abiding citizens.

There are also plenty of regulations now that are not being fully enforced. Beyond this, we do not want to “do whatever” we want with our guns. We are law-abiding citizens. We obey the law. It’s the criminals the left should be worried about, but they’re not. They think if they make it tougher for law-abiding citizens, criminals will also be swept up too. It doesn’t work like that.

We know that Gov. Cuomo of New York came right out and stated succinctly shortly after the Sandy Hook tragedy that new gun control laws might include confiscation. That’s now law. We also know that Gov. Brown just signed California legislation into law giving the state the muscle and the money to begin gun confiscation as well.

Now, we’re hearing it from several senators in New Jersey (believed to be “Senator Loretta Weinberg (D37), Senator Sandra Cunningham (D31), Senator Linda Greenstein (D14), and at least one member of Senate Democratic staff”).

Yet, those on the left continue to dissuade us from thinking that the government is out to grab our guns.  What does this mean then if we see two states controlled by Democrats grabbing guns and now several New Jersey Democrats in that state senate talking about their intentions to confiscate guns? Doesn’t it mean that at the very least, the left is working toward gun confiscation? It would certainly seem to be the case.

Of course, now these same individuals are trying to do what Obama has done when he was overheard saying something that he did not want anyone to hear because of an open mic: damage control. They have taken their cue from the man in the Oval Office.

Sen. Weinberg has since been quoted as saying she has no idea who used the word “confiscate.” Really? That’s odd. She was there, but can’t recall, can’t remember, or simply wasn’t paying attention among that small group of individuals, but at least she admits the word was used.

In reporting the event, a paper from New Jersey stated said, “it is not clear who is speaking or if this is what she is saying” regarding the use of the word “confiscate.” They wouldn’t even admit it.

What I’m noticing more and more is that those on the left seem to have the shortest memories of anyone in politics. They either cannot recall, remember, are unable to repeat something that happened, or they simply had no knowledge of it. This is the way those on the left try to absolve themselves of any real responsibility for events that have taken place under their watch. How can a person be held responsible for what was not known or remembered?

If they cannot recall the events, what really can be done? Can someone be faulted for having a terrible memory? Aside from finding memos or emails that link the person to an event, it is difficult to prove someone’s involvement. Even when they do find an email or memo with the person’s signature, it’s still a questionable because someone else comes along to say that every memo or email goes out with that person’s signature stamp affixed to it.  Of course, the implication is that just because a person’s signature appears on a document, it still does not prove that the person had any real knowledge of that situation.

Well then, our government is completely broken if that is the case. It means that lower levels subordinates are writing and signing official memos, emails, and other documents that are official. Simply because the person who oversees those subordinates didn’t actually have knowledge of something should not remove responsibility from them. Yet, all too often it does exactly that. It could also mean that some suffer from Alzheimer’s. If so, they should retire immediately.

The left is lying to America and as more of these snafus come to the surface, more will come to understand the treachery that is the left. Saying one thing publicly while attempting to do another privately is what is wrong with our political process.  Once again, those on the left show us their endgame, an endgame that can no longer be denied.
