From Rome to America to the NWO – It’s All About Bread and Circuses

Studying about the history, rise and fall of the Roman Empire is multifaceted, which makes for a very interesting study. The Roman Empire appears to have died at some point in history, but historians disagree on exactly when that death occurred. In my book Rome Rising, I highlight what I believe to be the death of the Roman Empire, but I also include truth from Scripture. Though the Roman Empire does appear to die from the scene (there’s nothing called the Roman Empire today), Scripture assures us from various chapters in Daniel and elsewhere, that the Fourth Beast pictured in Daniel (also known as the Roman Empire) somehow resurrects itself, yet is more vicious and incomprehensible than any empire that came before it.
In essence, as we learn in Revelation 13, a unique beast rises from the sea. John describes what he sees for us.
Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names. 2 And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his power and his throne and great authority. 3 I saw one of his heads as if it had been slain, and his fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast, (Revelation 13:1-3)
John describes the beasts that represent various empires of old. As I explain in Rome Rising, this beast with seven heads is essentially the four beasts of Daniel 2, but with more information.
As I’ve highlighted in the chart labeled “The Seven-Headed Beast of Revelation 13,” the top row shows the original four beasts spoken of in Daniel 2. They are from first to fourth, Babylon, Medes-Persians, Grecian, and Rome. These are the four beast empires that make up the Times of the Gentiles, the times when Israel and specifically Jerusalem will be under the control of Gentile governments. This has literally been the case since Nebuchadnezzar and his kingdom of Babylon.
So then, why does Revelation 13 refer to seven heads? As the second row shows, it’s really quite simple. By the time John saw things, he was living during the time of Roman Empire, which means that the first three kingdoms had already come and gone. From John’s point of view (looking backwards into history), he knew that once Alexander the Great (the ruler of the Grecian Empire) died, his Grecian Kingdom was divided up among his four generals, since Alexander had no heir at the time. In essence then, while the Grecian Empire remained as it had been conquered by Alexander, the same geographical area that had once been ruled by him, was now ruled by his four generals.
In that way then, as far as John was concerned, there were now four heads connected to the Grecian Empire, not just one, though it was still one beast. One beast, with four heads. When adding everything together then, Babylon, Medes-Persians, and Roman empires equals three “beasts” or empires. Add to those the now four heads of Greece and the total rises to seven heads altogether since no longer is Greece considered to be merely one head after Alexander’s death.
But notice also that in this same passage of Scripture, all of this – from John’s perspective – still represents only one beast. What that means is that all previous empires though defeated, simply segue from one into another. By the time the Roman Empire rises, it has incorporated aspects of all previous empires. We see this clearly in verse 2 when we note that this beast coming up out of the sea has feet like a bear, a mouth like a lion, and overall, was like a leopard. This beasts power comes from the dragon – Satan. This final beast is an enlargement of the old Roman Empire.
Note also that this one beast with seven heads, also wear 10 diadems or crowns. This type of crown (diadem as opposed to stephanos) signifies a ruler. We need to see this one beast as being a conglomeration of previous beasts/heads and then pointing to a time when there will be ten individual rulers who oversee the final kingdom. This is similar to the four generals ruling in place of Alexander.
What is most interesting about Rome is the way they created entitlements for the people. The Roman Empire was often known as satisfying the people through “bread and circuses,” or food and entertainment. If you keep the people’s stomach’s filled and give them entertainment, their minds will not be on those pesky things like politics. People who are fed and full and who have entertainment to keep them sidetracked don’t notice what might be better about their lives.
Of course, as with any form of socialism, the money eventually runs out and then people wake to the reality of their lives. By then, it’s usually too late.
In a way, this is America. While the Cloward-Piven strategy is to overwhelm the system as much as possible, another aspect of their system is to find ways to keep the people happy and satisfied. Food and entertainment does this best.
While hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens overrun the system putting undue pressure on America’s financial/economic, medical/health, and employment situations, these same illegals (along with millions of others in America) are given EBT cards where they can buy not only food, but some fast food places now take EBT cards. Beyond this, people have been known to pay for their bail, buy lingerie, go to strip clubs, and soon, people who need marijuana in Colorado may be able to purchase it with their EBT cards.
The only way that the federal government can justify processing and giving EBT cards to illegal aliens is because they want to crush the system into failure. Something new is coming and we see it in parts of Scripture like Revelation 13.
In order for the ten kings to rule, the world first must be united as one. Just as Alexander’s Grecian Kingdom was easier for four generals to rule over in Alexander’s absence, so will it require ten individuals to rule over the entire earth.
It is coming to that day, but in the meantime, it’s “bread and circuses” for the masses. They need us to be quiet, to simply accept what they (globalists) are doing to us without complaint. If they cannot shut us up one way, they hope to lapse us into a false sense of security with all the food and entertainment they are pushing us to take.
Revelation 13:3 tells us, “I saw one of his heads as if it had been slain, and his fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast…” The old Roman Empire is resurrecting itself under the power of the dragon and the people are marveling at such a sight.

Swimming along in the vein as you, I must agree with some of your comments in the natural meaning for this natural world. For many years now I have seen the Roman form of government everywhere.
the Senates are named different but still the same form.It is the governments of man/Adam. Remember now the two legs of the image are Rome and the feet on those legs are made of roman iron and mixed with clay or earth, not a very stable condition. Rome has always been with us and now is a religion that rides the back of bestial governments. I don’t see it coming to a head because that rock cut out of the mountain of God will hit those weak feet of Rome and it will come tumbling down.Father’s government is so close. We will see it! Exciting days! I wait in anticipation for the government of this world to become the world wide government of our Lord Jesus/Yahshua Messiah/ Christ!
