Revelation: 70 Weeks and Rev 4

In a nutshell, the 70 weeks of Daniel 9:24-27 is really an extension or take-off on the 70 years that Daniel had been reading about in the writings of Jeremiah, where he predicted that Israel would be thrown out of their land and taken captive for that length of time. As Daniel read this passage from Jeremiah (Jeremiah 25:11-12; 29:10), he realized that the 70 year period was almost up and of course, he was very excited about that. This lead him to pray his heartfelt prayer in the first 19 verses of Daniel 9.

Microaggression, Intersectionality and War in Urkraine

Microaggression is a term that means that whenever a white person interacts with a person of color, while their questions and even statements might seem straightforward, the truth (according to CRT), is that often these questions are filled with underlying “aggression,” hence the term “microaggression.” For instance, if a white person is talking with a person of color whom they’ve just met, the white person might ask, “Where are you from?” This innocuous question that has always been seen as simply one of the starting points to advancing conversation, is now seen as really implying “you don’t really belong here.”

Woodstock’s Woke Counter Culture

So what began as “peace, love, dope and rock and roll,” as a passionate expression of young people in the 60s and their desire to be free of war, grew into what is today. The violent Left appears to have taken charge over society. They are seemingly in every strata as well, pushing their lies and anger, demanding that all people play ball with them or be cast out of society. Many of those rebellious children of the 60s are CEOs of major corporations today.

Sodom by the Sea and Other Abominations

A huge elephant hotel for families was created (see image), but it also contained a brothel. Sure, why not? Bring the family and dad has something to do when not with the family. Oy. Criminals of course attracted to Coney Island because of all the tourists. They were there to steal as many wallets and money as possible. The rides and games were often rigged in favor of the owners, not the public, but it seemed that most of the public was having so much fun that they didn’t really care if they got swindled out of money here or there.

Walk thru Revelation: Last Generation Pt 3

I was cruising through a few videos this morning and noticed one person placed a comment something along the lines that Jesus is coming in 2024 and we can know this by looking at the signs. No, we cannot know this at all. When Jesus said no one knows the day or hour (Matthew 24:36), He wasn’t speaking in only terms of the exact day and the exact hour. He was literally saying that we cannot know when He’s going to return and furthermore, we should not even be concerned with it so that it becomes all-consuming. On the other hand, there is a specific crown in store for those who gladly look forward to the return of Jesus (2 Timothy 4:8).

Brief Periods of Rest

Joshua led the Israelites to victory one after another against many kings and nations in the Promised Land. The cycle was interesting. Israel would fight and overcome, then fight and overcome, fight and overcome some more and then rest for a while. There might be a short or long time of no wars for Israel. Then they’d be back at it, fighting another enemy that God tasked them with conquering.

Victory in Two (Easy then Hard) Steps

Do we neglect God by giving into the temptations of our flesh, which make us feel good for a few moments but remove us from fellowship with God? We need to be willing to seriously consider what we do, what we say, and what we think always reminding ourselves about our fear of (offending) the Lord.

Revelation: Last Generation, Pt 2

In our most recent Sunday evening Bible study class, on Revelation, we went over the way the Bible reveals its truth to us and last night, we picked up where we left off from the last time when we covered the first three Birth Pangs spoken of by our Lord in His Olivet Discourse of Matthew 24. In fact, what is interesting is that I pointed out that it is nearly impossible to stay on top of everything that is happening throughout the world due to the speed with which things tend to change from one day to the next.

Daniel 7 and Revelation 13 Pt 6

So here’s this beast who was very human-like (eyes of a man, mouth, etc.), and these pompous words he speaks will be motivated by his spiritual union with Satan, his spiritual father. Daniel tells us this, then describes what he sees next, this time in the heavens. Thrones were placed and the Ancient of Days (Jehovah God), took His seat. Why does He take His seat? Because He is getting ready to judge. In fact, the entire description of Him reveals that He is dressed for judgment and ready to issue His judgments.

Evil: Present and Rising Pt 1

More than one settler during that time bemoaned the fact that alleged Christian men could be heard uttering the most abhorrent language and blasphemies after drinking to get drunk, losing money at cards and giving more away to prostitutes. I can’t imagine the wretchedness of life then. Most prostitutes had short sad lives and were drug-addled and depressed. Who wouldn’t be considering this was not at all how God wanted humanity to live? Many committed suicide via drug overdoses.
