Iran Moves Troops to Israeli Border to Quash Rebel Groups?

Now, Iran is moving in closer to the Syrian/Israeli border to fight against rebel groups. Which rebel groups? Who knows? We do need to remember that this is the same Iran that has been working toward having the nuclear bomb. It is the same Iran that has shown no favoritism (or even a willingness to put up with Israel’s presence) toward Israel. This is why Israel has been considering bombing missions to destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities and it is why – as we stated previously – that Saudi Arabia is willing to allow Israeli jets to fly through a narrow corridor of airspace to reach Iran quicker. Saudi Arabia is not doing this out of the kindness of their hearts. They are doing it because they want Israel to “enjoy” the blame if they do take out Iran’s nuclear capabilities. Since Saudi Arabia will not necessarily be joining Israel’s efforts personally with fighter jets (but is merely allowing Israel to pass through), then clearly, as far as the UN is concerned, Saudi Arabia would not be considered the aggressor. That’s a bit like one burglar unlocking the front door of a house for another burglar, but not joining in with the burglary. It’s a bit disingenuous but that’s the way the world plays politics.

Hold Everything! A Gap Exists Between Zechariah 9:9-10

But think of Zechariah and everyone who came after the prophet and read his scroll. To them, they saw NO GAP OF TIME. They never saw that the Messiah would come the first time and then come back again, the second time. To those people, Messiah would come and immediately set things right. He would set up His rule and rein in power, dominion, peace, and humility, carrying salvation on His shoulders.

Meaning of “Day of the Lord” Part 3

It is also important to note that “The partial deliverance at Babylon’s downfall prefigures the final, complete deliverance of Israel, literal and spiritual, at the downfall of the mystical Babylon (Revelation 18:1-19:21′).” I think we can all agree that even though the Jewish captives were freed from Babylon after the appointed 70 years noted by Jeremiah, the reality is that the kingdom of Babylon simply began the “times of the Gentiles” (Daniel 2), in which Gentiles would maintain control over Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. This disposition continues to this day.

Abortion Methods Used in United States

Until I had done the research for this article, I was personally not aware that the Dilation and Evacuation (D & E) was the one that utilized the poison injected directly into the heart. This procedure has been performed on many mothers for some time.

Ultimately, when considering the numerous forms used today to kill unborn human beings, it is clear that there is no “simple” or “painless” way of aborting children. Yet, in our society, we grieve more for convicted murderers who may experience some measure of pain while being put to death than we do for innocent unborn human beings who – through no choice of their own – were either conceived or murdered. They did nothing wrong to deserve their fate, yet unborn human beings are murdered while still in the womb every day in this country.

New York Right to Life Clarifies AB6221

AB 6221 would do two major things. It would first – and this would have an immediate effect in New York practice – allow non-doctors to perform abortions. This would be done by repealing the section of the penal code that requires only licensced physicians to perform abortions. The bill sponsors say that it would still be limited to those “operating within the scope of their practice” so in practice this would be mean nurses, midwives, and physicians assistants. We’ve already seen a movement to actively make it so that midwives and nurses are performing abortions – http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/10/politics/california-nurse-practitioners-abortions/ – so this is continuing that trend.

Meaning of “Day of the Lord” Part 2

It is important to understand first, that the “day of the Lord” (DOTL) often represents a span of time, not a singular day or one single event. We’ll look to Scripture in a moment to provide some examples. Note also that there are many different names for this period, depending upon the person called upon by the Lord to write a section of His Word. The phrase DOTL (or its equivalent) is used some 20 or so times in the Old Testament. Because of that, it is imperative to thoroughly research each usage to determine if/how they tie together.

Meaning of “Day of the Lord” Part 1

The “day of the Lord” is another one of those subjects that people like to discuss and even argue over. For some, it means a certain length of time when the Lord will do a specific work. In that case, while it culminates in the return of the Lord on a specific “day,” the phrase “day of the Lord” includes other events as well. For instance, some believe that the Tribulation period begins the “day of the Lord” because we can clearly see from the opening of the very first seal in Revelation 6 (which also coincides with the beginning of the Tribulation period; see also Daniel 9:27), that the Lamb (the Lord) is in full charge and He is pouring out His wrath as He opens each of those seals.

Christians Preparing for the Worst

The Tribulation will be a time of unparalleled evil and the persecution of Christians will be a daily experience throughout the entire globe, including America. God will use the 144,000 Jewish evangelists of Revelation 7 to be His messengers spreading the gospel far and wide. It is not coincidence that after the 144,000 are sealed, we read starting in Revelation 7:9 that there are multitudes of people became martyrs during the Tribulation.

Loving the Lost, Both Loveable and Unlovable

I have to constantly check my heart and mind. It is so terribly easy some times to “hate” the sinner instead of the sin. I will admit it. I am not Jesus and I know that I do not love as He loved. Yes, He loved with words, but He also loved with actions and the way in which He responded to people after they treated Him like He was a piece of manure on the ground. I have to ask myself, how would I respond in such a situation? Do I love the lost enough to sincerely ask God to blot my name out of the book of life?

Understanding Daniel Relies on Jude and Enoch? Really?

It is the same with Daniel 9. Gabriel is literally speaking about a total of 70 “sevens.” The word sevens is a determiner, but without knowing what it determines, we cannot know for certain what the total amount would be. But since the entirety of Daniel 9 is dealing with years, then that context gives us the information we need to know. Gabriel tells Daniel that 70 “sevens” (of years) will be applied to the Jewish people. Once we understand this, it is simply a matter of multiplying 70 (the length of time) times seven sets of years to equal 490. We know that the sevens is joined to years because of how perfectly the first 7 “sevens” (“weeks”) plus the 62 “sevens” (“weeks”) works out from the beginning point of Artaxerxes’ decree to rebuilt Jerusalem in 445 BC (cf. Nehemiah 2:1-8). If the first 69 “sevens of years” works out perfectly, then obviously the final or 70th “seven” is the same amount of time – one seven represented by one seven-year period. I’m amazed at many commentators change the length of this last week.
