70 Weeks Means 490 Years and References the Tribulation Period of Matthew 24

This can only mean one thing. The “prince” here is the ruler of Rome who – along with his Roman soldiers – destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in AD 70. The same verse (26) tells us that the “end will come with a flood.” This most certainly has no reference to water, but to the flood of a military conquest. This is how this word is used when it is not directly referring to a body of water. It is a figure of speech. The end of Jerusalem came with a flood of army soldiers who destroyed Jerusalem and the Jewish Temple there.

Seven Years of God’s Wrath Coming We Call the Tribulation

So we know Daniel was thinking in terms of years. That is clear from the text and indisputable. When Gabriel arrives, he clarifies for Daniel that it is not seventy years, but in reality it will wind up being seventy sevens of years. Seventy sevens of years equal a total of 490 years (70 x 7). This is where the 490 years come from and provides the total number of prophetic years in which God has decreed for Israel and the Holy City. This then, is God’s timeframe; 490 years.

Everyone’s Talking About a Coming Collapse. Could It Happen?

Logic should tell us that things are not getting better, but they are in fact, getting worse. We have a government that is, for the most part, sold out to the Global Elite. Because of that, those who are puppets in DC are there to simply do the bidding of those who placed them there. There is no intention on their part to fix our economy. Their intention is to further destroy it because the Global Elite needs that to happen. This will create a greater dependence on the government, which will in turn, remove more of our freedoms.

Fixing Our Minds on the Things That Are Above, Not on the Earth

Because we have been raised with Christ, we are to cling to Him and continue seeking those things which are above. We are to “grow up” in Him. In order to do these things, we must – as John says in 1 John 3 – fix our minds on the fact that He is one day returning. This one fact will cause us to throw off those things that are worthless and focus on and do the things that are worthwhile (in God’s eyes).

Let’s Talk About the Coming Tribulation Over Several Posts, Shall We? All right…

The Tribulation is another area of controversy. Is there an area of Scripture that is not controversial, we might ask? The Tribulation is described as a period of time – seven years – in which God pours out His wrath onto this world and humanity. He does this for two reasons: 1) to purify Israel and gather to Himself the final Remnant of Jews, and 2) to judge the people of the world for how they have continued to reject Him as God and for how they have treated Israel, the apple of His eye.

Deaf Conference: The Fall of America and the Emergence of the NWO

All of us talked about how things are going in the world and what the Bible seems to say on the subject. We also took the time to emphasize the fact that Christians need to be doing far more than just waiting and watching. We need to be working. This is something that is not emphasized enough.

Israel: God’s Miracle, And Proof Of His Existence

Why do we shy away from prophecy? Knowing that no man knows the hour doesn’t make it any less important. For we see the changing weather, and know a storm is coming. And we see Israel, brought from the ashes as proof that there is a God, and He is real.

Therefore Shall the Land Mourn…

Hosea 4:3 states: “Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.”

Seven Heads, Ten Horns, and the Revived Roman Empire, Pt 2

It is reasonable to conclude then, that the beast that comes out of the sea – with seven heads and four horns – essentially comes from all the previous empires that existed. Here is Revelation 13:1b. “Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names.” These seven heads really represent the previous four kingdoms of Babylon, Medo-Persian, Grecian, and Roman. Why seven heads?

Seven Heads, Ten Horns, and the Revived Roman Empire

These empires are important because of the fact that they are part of prophecy and they essentially replace one another, as one empire segues into the next. What is truly interesting here is because these empires occurred in essentially the same area of the world – which turns out was the birthplace of civilization – even though a new king or emperor came on the scene, if we stop to consider it, one empire simply folded into the next.
