Daniel 9 and the 70 Weeks, Pt. 1
All of Daniel makes for interesting reading, but in some says, the 9th chapter of Daniel stands alone because Daniel 9 is essentially the only place in all of Scripture where the topic of the 70 weeks are introduced and discussed. As one can imagine, because the contents of Daniel 9 deals with Eschatology (the study of end times/last days), there are many books and articles that have been written on the subject, from a variety of viewpoints. Much of it evolves around the question of whether or not a “gap” of time actually exists between the 69th and 70th weeks.
Does the End Justify the Means?
I’ve been spending a good amount of time dealing with the subject of political correctness as can be seen by the number of articles I’ve written on the subject recently. It is a fascinating subject if for no other reason than the fact that an entire society of people can fall prey to the warped, restrictive, racist, guilt-creating, ad hominem-based, and overwhelmingly antithetical ideology of political correctness.
How Political Correctness Breeds Contempt
Throughout parts of Europe (including the UK and even into India), marauding groups of Muslims seem to have taken to the streets for the sole purpose of raping women. Of course, they feel they have a right to do this since the women are “uncovered” and are therefore, no better than “whores,” “sluts,” and “prostitutes.” As such, they get what they deserve, according to Islam’s Sharia law.
Political Correctness and Its Judgmentalism
This is what it comes down to for the politically correct. In essence, only their opinion is valid and should be allowed to air. Opposing opinions should not be aired. Society has come to the point where the politically correct appear to hold more sway than those who are considered to be outside the arena of the politically correct camp. In essence, they are holding the rest of us hostage and that should not be.
Can Sound Political Theology Produce Civility?
In truth, the type of sound political theology referenced by Bauman is fast becoming outmoded, pushed to the side by the politically correct militants of the day. The desire of many today is to replace, redefine, and renege. But the premise of many within the groups that purpose to accomplish this, is flawed at best. That premise starts with something that has little to do with God’s absolute truth, replacing it with a thorny relativism that impinges and contorts reality into something that is not discernible, yet claims to be the true meaning of God’s truth. What could possibly be better than God’s absolutes for a people or a nation; for the world, for that matter?
Critical Race Theory: Blaming Whites for Racism in Wisconsin
In yet another example of political correctness taken to extremes, controversial teaching material in at least one Wisconsin school comes right out and blames white people for racism. [1] That program is called “CREATE Wisconsin” [2] and like many things produced by the politically correct, the title has absolutely nothing to do with the subject matter within the program. It is a form of subterfuge that the Left has gotten down to a science.
Political Correctness Says It’s Fine to Satirically Malign Jesus
In an ongoing effort by those within the Politically Correct Arena to remove all vestiges of traditional values in America, especially those that reflect biblical values, PC-militants continually work to facilitate society in making a clean break from anything that smacks of Christianity.
Political Correctness On Parade!
So, in the first example with the military vet, we see him being carted off for breaking no law. He was also shouted down by union people at the rally. While the cameras ran, he was never even told why he was being arrested; what law he had broken. I do realize that in some locales, police have so many hours before they inform someone why they are being detained. Moreover, they do not also have to immediately read a person their rights in every instance. However, as a courtesy, you would think that the officer would have informed the man, but chose not to do so.
They Came for Their Money
Here’s a quick news brief. Apparently, the government of Cyprus simply went in and took up to 15% of the money in people’s bank accounts. Why? To keep the country from going belly up, apparently.
