Churlish Behavior from President Obama

Treated Like Dirt at the White House

It kind of boggles my mind (though it probably shouldn’t) regarding President Obama’s behavior toward Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu at the recent politically undiplomatic shindig at the White House, this past Tuesday.

When Barack Obama was running for office, rumors and murmurings of “narcisistic” and “egotistical” could be heard in the poorly lit outer corridors of those who were forced to the outside of the circle.  Of course, this was never even hinted at in the media, and why should it be?  The media wanted to be able to say “President-elect Obama” as much as the next liberal, and the only way to ensure that this would become reality was to overlook anything that even smacked of negativity toward the “hope” of the United States.

Because of that, whenever a rumor actually made it to the forefront of the campaign trail, that Barack Obama was pro-Arab and anti-Israel, or that he loved himself inordinately and tended to have a god-complex, these things were not only pooh-poohed, but normally the tables were turned on the individual making the accusations.  It just would not do for the media to have people think that their choice for our next president had faults, or chinks in his armor.  Wouldn’t be prudent.

Because of this, we now have a president who is not only pro-Arab and anti-Israel, but one who thinks America is better off if it became a true Socialist country.  Never mind that Socialism has never really worked anyplace else in the world, or where health care is socialized to include all the population, taxes go sky high.  Beyond this, let’s not worry that we have an individual sitting in the Oval Office who believes that acting like a three-year old is the way to get things done.  Forget politics.  Ignore diplomacy.  Treat other leaders in the world as if they owe you their allegiance, in spite of the fact that you have given them absolutely nothing at all.

In essence, President Obama is attempting Netanyahu to do it Obama’s way, or else.  In the end, this is a man who apparently believes that he is the one that those who have not favor with him, answer to.  It does not matter that Israel’s capital has been Jerusalem for the better part of 3,000 years.  What matters is that President Obama has intended to embarrass and humiliate Netanyahu and his government.

For a head of government to visit the White House and not pose for photographers is rare. For a key ally to be left to his own devices while the President withdraws to have dinner in private was, until this week, unheard of. Yet that is how Binyamin Netanyahu was treated by President Obama on Tuesday night, according to Israeli reports on a trip viewed in Jerusalem as a humiliation.

“After failing to extract a written promise of concessions on settlements, Mr Obama walked out of his meeting with Mr Netanyahu but invited him to stay at the White House, consult with advisers and ‘let me know if there is anything new’, a US congressman, who spoke to the Prime Minister, said.”[1]

I’m sorry, but this type of behavior from the president of the United States is not only rude and chirlish, but inexcusable.  There is no reason for a leader of one country to treat another like they are scum.  This type of behavior was not even evidenced toward Ahmadinejad.

The article continues, “‘It was awful,’ the congressman said. One Israeli newspaper called the meeting ‘a hazing in stages,’ poisoned by such mistrust that the Israeli delegation eventually left rather than risk being eavesdropped on a White House telephone line. Another said that the Prime Minister had received ‘the treatment reserved for the President of Equatorial Guinea‘.”

I’m hoping that Israel will finally wake up to the fact that they do not need anyone except God.  Why should Israel (or any country for that matter), have to cowtow to the United States?

While the U.S. is busy treating Israel as if they are the scum of the earth all the while pandering to the Arabs (and of course, ignoring the fact that Iran is doing all they can to build their first Nuke), the world’s animosity toward Israel continues to grow.  Because of this, President Obama believes he has world support, and he does.  The reality though is that what happens on Earth is controlled by God alone.  Though people are fully responsible for their own actions, those actions occur because God allows them to occur.

Whatever the ramifications are of this latest situation between the United States and Israel, we can be sure that it is not over.  How bad will it get?  Only God knows for certain, but an educated guess would say that it could very likely get to the point of the United States severing ties with Israel.  That too would be allowed by God.

Is God positioning Israel so that they will be all alone, with no other country to rely on for support?  It’s very possible and what the world means for evil, God means for good.  In spite of this, there is no excuse for our president to behave in such a manner toward the leader of another country.
