Taliban Kills Christians and the Coming Possible EMP Apocalypse

In Islamic countries, it is against Sharia Law to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is against Sharia Law to attempt to convert Muslims to Christianity. The punishment is death. This applies to anyone who is caught and accused of proselytizing, even if they are American.
Recently, Onenewsnow.com reported that this scenario took place in KABUL, Afghanistan. The missionaries, who were part of a 10 member medical team were shot and killed along with the medical personnel because “they were ‘preaching Christianity‘.” [1]
As sad as this is, it should shock no authentic Christian. We know this will happen to more and more authentic Christians as time progresses toward the end, including the period of time called the Tribulation. This seven-year period will usher in the worst persecution, trouble and tribulation the world will have ever seen. If not for the fact that Jesus will return at the end of the seven years, it would continue unabated. The fact that Jesus will return at the end of the seven years is what “cuts the days short,” (cf. Matthew 24:22). I’ve read commentaries where people think that the actual seven years will somehow be shortened, but that does not appear to be what Christ is saying in the Olivet Discourse. He is pointing out that if it was not for the fact of his return, the days would continue without let up.
As we close in on this time period referred to as the Tribulation, we can be assured that persecution against authentic Christians will not only continue, but ramp up. In the particular case of the medical team, there are conflicting reports. The Taliban claims that the team was busy preaching Christianity. Dirk Frans, director of the International Assistance Mission disagrees. “Frans said the International Assistance Mission is registered as a nonprofit Christian organization but it does not proselytize.” So who to believe, the murderous Taliban, or the director of the organization? Seems an easy answer.
Fran went onto say, “‘This tragedy negatively impacts our ability to continue serving the Afghan people as IAM has been doing since 1966,’ according to a statement released by the charity. ‘We hope it will not stop our work that benefits over a quarter of a million Afghans each year‘.” Essentially, this entire team was there to help people, but because they appeared to be Christian missionaries, that’s all it took for the Taliban to decide on life or death. Death comes easy in a place like Afghanistan, or Pakistan, where bodies continue to stack up.
“The team, made up of doctors, nurses and logistics personnel, was attacked as it was returning to Kabul following a two-week mission in Nuristan, Frans said. They had decided to travel through Badakhshan province to return to the capital because they thought that would be the safest route, Frans said.
“Among the dead was team leader Tom Little, an optometrist from Delmar, New York who has been working in Afghanistan for more than 30 years, Frans said.
“Little was expelled by the Taliban government in August 2001 after the arrest of eight Christian aid workers _ two Americans and six Germans _ for allegedly trying to convert Afghans to Christianity. He returned to Afghanistan after the Taliban government was toppled in November 2001 by U.S.-backed forces.
“Frans said he lost contact with Little on Wednesday. On Friday, a third Afghan member of the team, who survived the attack, called to report the killings. A fourth Afghan member of the team was not killed because he took a different route home because he had family in Jalalabad, Frans said.”
Of course, this is tragic, but only from a human perspective. When life ends here, it merely continues in a different form there, in the afterlife. Any of the individuals who were authentic Christians and were killed because of it, are now with Christ. According to the article, apparently at least one of the individuals also killed was Muslim and died reciting parts of the Qur’an. He was probably seen by the Taliban as a traitor to his country and his religion, and therefore, an infidel, worthy only of death.
If we can stand back, it becomes easy to see that there have been a great deal of changes in society and many of them not good. Immorality is on the increase. Hatred of Christians is ramping up and once again, Christians will become the fall guys for the ills of the world, just as occurred during the days of Nero. Christians have always been easy prey since they are generally compliant, and do not resist evil. Of course, this very thing is why Muslims have little to no respect for Christians, since we seem weak and powerless.
It always amazes me when I hear of a person who can simply kill another individual. In this case, the Taliban overtook the 10-member team, robbed them, then shot them to death one at a time. How does a person do that? How does someone decide that they must take the life of another individual, who is unarmed? How does a person point a gun at another person’s head and pull the trigger without blinking? Practice.
In places like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and Iran, life is very cheap. A person can be literally here one day and gone the next. People in those regions live with that knowledge and expectancy. They know it is a matter of time before some lawless group of thugs overcomes them, and without mercy, ends their life.
In today’s world, Christians are targets, either physically, or verbally. That has always been the way and it is increasing. If you read Voice of the Martyrs, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Christians are assaulted, thrown in jail without being charged and forgotten, raped, and even killed. Why? Because people can treat Christians like that and get away with it.
What is good (if we can say that), is that this type of persecution separates the sheep from the goats, the professing Christians from the authentic Christian. No fake Christian is going to want to give up their life here. They will squeal and squeak out from underneath that situation if they can. They will change their tune very quickly when push comes to shove and especially when the choice is facing death or not. They will justify themselves because they do not believe that Jesus “would offend” anyone today. If they think that, they are obviously completely unfamiliar with the gospels. Jesus offended people…often because of Who He was/is, and what He stated on a near-daily basis.
As I write this, my wife and I are compiling a list of things we need to buy before America is struck by an EMP blast (electromagnetic pulse), which could easily destroy communications systems and anything that uses electricity to run. We would need a portable solar generator, food stuffs that will last for up to 6 months (a year would be ideal), plenty of water, a camp stove with plenty of fuel canisters, ammo and other things as well. Just as we are looking the possible future square in the face regarding how we will survive IF America is struck with an EMP, we must also look into the future to realize that life for many – especially authentic Christians – may become very cheap.
In an article by Jack Kinsella, forwarded by Ray Gano over at Prophezine.com, Kinsella explores the possibilities. While many of us are concerned about a nuclear attack, pragmatically, an EMP attack could create far worse damage and death.
Take a moment to stop and think about life WITHOUT electricity. I’m serious. Try to name something that you use every day that does not require electricity, besides your clothing. We eat food, which requires refrigeration. We drive autos, which requires gas. In order to get gas out of the pumps at the station, electricity is required. Besides that, our cars generate electricity in order to continue to drive.
At home, we use electricity to see (lights), our computers require electricity, and most phones use electricity. Without it, no lights, no computer and no phone. Without electricity, life for most of us stops. We become like the Taliban, or the Amish (as far as how they actually live in this world; simply and off the grid, so to speak). Should we be making preparations for the day that may come when we will all be off the grid? Should we be thinking about buying a portable solar powered generator? additional food supplies? growing food in our own garden? stocking up on fuel for our camp stove, or candles to provide light, or wood for the fireplace?
I do not think these ideas are bad at all. IF the day comes when electricity goes off, during that time (until it is re-established, which could take months), no amount of money will do any good at all. We may be forced to enter into a bartering system with neighbors; head of lettuce for a couple of eggs, and so on. It’s really not hard to imagine.
So there are really two things that all authentic Christians may well be facing in the not-too-distant future: 1) greater degree of persecution, and 2) life as it was before electricity. We need to mentally prepare for the possibility of these eventualities. By the way, I’m not saying that God will not help us through these situations; however, I do not believe He wants us to AVOID taking steps to prepare for them either. It is not difficult to envision a scenario such as this when their could very well be near-total global collapse. Out of the ruins, a new world is born, one ruled by a group of ten individuals. From there, one individual rises above the rest to proclaim himself god in human form.
In order for a world dictator to rise, there needs to be a world problem. There needs to be something that creates a global need for someone so intelligent, charming, self-assured, charismatic, with tremendous leadership skills, that people will give up nearly anything for him to “fix” things.
Our life on this planet will only last so long. Are you prepared for what lies ahead?
