Israel Gives Up Jerusalem BEFORE the “Peace” Talks Even Start!

What will these "peace" talks yield?

According to Aaron Klein, writer for WorldNet Daily, he states, “Ahead of the start of today’s Mideast summit in Washington, the Israeli government publicly conceded sections of Jerusalem will become part of a Palestinian state while holy sites would be governed by a ‘special regime’.” [1]

So what appeared to be only possibility (in our previous post), turns out to be actual fact, that Israel is willing to give up its claim on all of Jerusalem, allowing the Temple Mount and other sites considered holy to both Jews and Muslims, to be controlled by this special regime.  There is no word on who will make up this special regime and with what authority it will control access to the holy sites.

I’m dumbfounded regarding these announcements.  If we stop to consider the ramifications of this, we have the following:

  1. all of a sudden, a willingness by Netanyahu’s administration to give up what he said he would not give up
  2. the closest the world has ever been to a two-state solution to the Middle East problem
  3. a president who in every way acts as though he is a Muslim and at every point, sides against Israel
  4. the chances that the Antichrist will rise is now sooner than later IF these “peace” talks actually amount to anything
  5. a U.S. administration that has treacherously ignored the will of the majority of people where Israel is concerned and done what they wanted to do

This makes me wonder deeply about our president.  What is he doing and why is he doing it?  I’m going to bite my tongue for the moment and say nothing more.

The truth is that it does not seem to matter what Israel does, what she accepts, or what she concedes because at every point, the world has turned against her, never viewing anything she does as enough.

I honestly never would have thought that these “peace” talks would have turned out as they have, especially given the fact that they have not even officially begun.  Though both sides deny that President Obama insisted on preconditions, since he began dealing with Israel, he has always insisted on preconditions.  Why would this time be any different?

My point is that one can only wonder what has been stated behind the scenes.  First, I do not believe for a moment that President Obama secretly treats Netanyahu with any respect at all.  I think he has only learned to be sure that how he privately treats Netanyahu is never made public.  How does that happen?  One way is through threats.  It could mean economic threats to the country of Israel, turning a blind eye to any potential physical harm that may come to the nation from neighboring nations, or through the United States’ working with anti-Israel nations to accomplish what is best for the Palestinians.  In fact, it would not surprise me at all to know that this administration has pointedly offered a “take it, or leave it” approach to Israel.  If they agree, then things will go relatively well for Israel.  If they disagree, things will go very badly for Israel.

Unfortunately, in spite of his rhetoric and public image, I see President Obama as someone who is filled with hatred toward Jews.  I could be wrong, but from what we have seen, while Ronald Reagan was an actual actor before getting into politics, it appears that President Obama may be a better actor.  While he smiles to America, insisting that he is going to stay with New Orleans for the long haul (though he has shown no real interest in anything that happens within the borders of America), his words seem simply to be words, designed to make people feel good.

Since Obama has been president, he has seemed far more interested in what is going on in the Middle East than anything else.  We’ve had the BP oil leak, which Obama ignored until he was forced to (pretend) that he was going to do something to help America.  It was almost as if the BP oil leak distracted him from his real purpose of solving the Middle East problem.

The only time we have seen him state something (usually without thinking) is during the Ground Zero mosque situation, or when the Black professor was arrested for what appeared to be breaking and entering and Obama’s chiding of the police department.  The other thing he has done is push through a health care plan that Nancy Pelosi grandly admitted that we would have to read it to know what’s in it – this after it had passed into law.

The health care bill is a giant move toward Socialism, which is a step toward globalism.  Obama has taken time out from his busy Middle East peace process schedule to condemn and sue Arizona for attempting to pass a law which gave teeth to the Federal law already on the books; the same law that Obama refuses to support, thus he winds up breaking the laws of this land by not protecting states from being overrun by people who do not belong here.

At every step, President Obama has worked to undermine, not protect, the United States Constitution.  He has castigated those who support the Constitution, and he has denigrated the leaders of the states who are trying to enforce the law and bring their budgets into the black.

In essence, we have a president who shows disdain for the Constitution, for the people who are here legally, or are natural born citizens.  He has shown his favoritism for Islam, the Palestinians, Arabs, and Muslims.  He has canceled the celebration of the National Day of Prayer (the annual White House event), and promptly ran off to pray with 50,000 other Muslims on that same day, all the while maintaining that he is not a Muslim, but that he is a Christian.  We all know the adage, if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, and looks like a duck, it is a duck, yet we are asked to believe that in this case, it is not a duck at all.

This situation with Israel and the Palestinians is turning into something I would not have imagined at this stage at all.  The book of Revelation is fairly clear, taken literally (not literalistically), we see the events that lead up to and begin the Tribulation period.  The only thing we cannot be 100 percent sure of is the order of those events.  Do they all happen sequentially, as listed?  Probably not because there are at least two places where there are parentheses.  When exactly is the mark of the beast enforced?  When does God seal the 144,000 Jewish evangelists?  It is difficult to be dogmatic about events like this, though many are that.

I guess I was thinking that we will have tremendous economic, political, religious, and civic problems that would build to a crescendo, and then a collapse.  Out of this collapse rises the Antichrist with answers to all the problems that affect this world.

I hate to say it, but what appears to be happening is that the Middle East is on its way to some type of awkward peace treaty.  This may or may not mean anything because the Arabs are wonderful at breaking their pledges.  It could very well become a situation in which all parties come to agree at all points during this set of “peace” talks, only to have certain parties break their promise and then we are back at the drawing table.

It could also mean that we may have a major breakthrough, and Israel will get a few things (limited access to the Temple Mount for instance), while the Palestinians get a whole lot of things, and then after things seem to be going fine for a while, the entire process breaks down, with Israel having far less than she has had since before 1948.

It could also mean that things will go along smoothly and Israel will get certain things, the Palestinians will get a lot, and from that point onward things will go relatively smoothly for decades yet.  Only God knows.

To me however, this latest situation is disheartening.  While God has, without doubt, allowed this situation to occur, from a human standpoint, it could have only reached this point through threats and talk of war.  There is no other reason that I can see in which Israel would be willing to concede Jerusalem, especially considering the fact that Netanyahu only a few weeks ago said Jerusalem would never be divided again.

Only God knows what is actually going on and where it will lead and only the passing of time will tell us for certain.  Let us pray…

What other conclusions can be arrived at here?  Why would Ehud Barak state that conceding Jerusalem is a done deal if he was not forced in some way to concede it?  The only other reason would be that Ehud and others like him want peace at any cost.

If these “peace” talks amount to anything, I will be anxious to see what the exact terms of the agreement entail and for the length of time involved.

In the meantime, maybe we should start a pool on the identity of the Antichrist.  I have my pick and my pick for his False Prophet too…

I have been in a funk all day since I heard the news about Israel conceding sections of Jerusalem, and then it hit me, Oh my goodness, if there is a peace agreement confirmed, we could be at the doors of the final seven years prophesied in Daniel 9:27 – Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week (week of years = 7 yrs) but in the middle of the week at the halfway point 3.5 yrs), he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering and on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate. Wow, the abomination of desolation that Jesus Himself warned us about in Matthew 24:15 “Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet standing in the holy place (Temple) whoever reads, let him understand.” Jesus goes on to say this will begin the great tribulation in verse 20. Which will not be 7 years as we have all been taught, but rather 3.5 years (Thank God!) How amazing that we are living in these times…time will tell if the covenant is confirmed. Then we must be watching for the rebuilding of the Temple, for there can be no abomination of desolation without one. I wonder if when this occurs if it will change the way we believers live. If it will give us a sense of urgency regarding our witness to others. We shall see.

Without getting into a pointless debate about the length of the Tribulation/Great Tribulation, my view is that the entire period (as you have pointed out) is seven years. What occurs in the final 3.5 years is completely ramped up because Antichrist has shown his real motivation.

However, prior to this period, he is still ruling and in fact, is the one who kills the two witnesses. When taking everything into consideration from Daniel, Ezekiel, and Revelation, we learn that the The first six seals (“the tribulation of those days,” Matthew 24:29) last roughly 3½ years. The period known as the “great tribulation”, or 7th seal, lasts about another 3½ years – 7 years in total.

The opening of the seventh seal releases the contents, which contains, the seven trumpets, and the seven bowls (the seven bowls are released one at a time when the last trumpet judgment sounds).

That aside, I completely agree with you regarding the urgency of the situation. I firmly believe that as we progress toward the beginning of the Tribulation, not only will we see unparalleled evil unleased on the earth, but we will also see unprecedented numbers of people turning to the Lord. What God wants is for His children to say “Here am I, send me!” when He asks us “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” regarding the spreading of His Word to those who are bound deep within the kingdom of darkness.

      Thanks for writing.

It does seem very unlikely that Israel would willingly agree to this “peace” agreement… interesting…
