Digging Deeper in Saskatoon, Canada!

The Digging Deeper Bible Conference ended yesterday (Sunday) and I was privileged to be part of it.  I spoke twice and was challenged by Drs. Randall Price and Tom Sharp, as well as Gary Fisher and J.R. Hall.  The conference was nothing less than a blessing and the people of Saskatoon are wonderful people!  I would like to extend to them a big thank you for having my wife and I up from our California home for the weekend.

A number of things were highlighted at the conference and among them was the idea that evolutionary thought has so permeated our world, that there is not only no room for God, but only room for self-centered, egotistical views of our own lives.  In society’s rush to eradicate any thought of God, people have turned inward, believing that I am made for ME and you are made for YOU.

Unfortunately, this creates the view that says the creature, not the Creator is of supreme importance.  This is diametrically opposed to the Bible and the very character of God.  We were not made for ourselves. God made us for His pleasure.

According to Dr. Tom Sharp (of Creation Truth), Darwin and the evolutionary system has removed God from the classroom and from life in general.  In its place, SELF has been elevated to the status of deity.  Everyone is so busy worshiping themselves or the creation, they fail to see the Creator.

In nearly every area of society, New Age thought intones that we are already gods.  We merely need to actualize it within ourselves in order to become the controller of our own destinies.  This is actually no different than the lie told to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.  It is the same lie and people are still buying into it, to their own detriment.

We were not made gods.  We were not made to become gods.  We were created by THE God as human beings and will always be so.  God receives the glory in the end, whether we like it or not.

Gary Fisher taught us about Israel and how Israel is seriously part of the prophetic picture.  Fisher, of Lion of Judah ministries, teaches that God is nowhere near done with Israel and a time is soon coming when God will one again turn His attention fully to the nation of Israel that the world hates.  He will deal with them in a way that motivates them to call for His return to this world.  Israel is not out of the woods yet, but the victory is sure.

Dr. Randall Price revealed a number of important discoveries, some of which are related to Noah’s Ark.  Yes, there have been hoaxes and trails that ended, but Price had some extremely interesting information that he was able to share with the conference.

Beyond this, Dr. Price spoke of the things happening in Israel now and from his vantage point as an archaeologist, sees these things all pointing to the fulfillment of the prophetic record as revealed in Scripture.

J.R. Hall taught on various aspects of New Agism, specifically Yoga and other areas.  Yoga is one of the foundational aspects of at least part of the New Age movement and it is purely occultic in nature.  However, most people in the west do not see it as having anything to do with the occult.  This is simply because they do not understand the origins of yoga, or the doors that it opens up.

During the conference, I also had the privilege of meeting and chatting with Roger Oakland.  If I am asked to return for a future Digging Deeper, I will certainly go, as the Lord provides.

What is clear about this event and others like it is that they are becoming few and far between.  Why?  Because within Christendom, there are too many professing Christians who are not Christians.  Beyond this, there are those who are authentic Christians, but who have fallen asleep.  They don’t really care about the Lord’s return or the End Times, in spite of the fact that Jesus Himself taught about it.  These individuals are concerned with the here and now of THEIR lives.  They want the bigger paycheck, the bigger car, the better home, the more extensive vacation.  They have lost sight of the goal.

Digging Deeper was a great success and it has nothing to do with numbers of people in attendance.  It has to do with the QUALITY and INTENT of those who attended.  They love the Lord, they desire to serve Him and along with all of us speakers, yearn for His return.  In the meantime, we are not sitting around on our rumpuses.  We are working while we watch for the King’s return.

Personally, I cannot wait until He does return.  The Rightful Owner of this planet will one day step down on it at the Mt. of Olives and from that point on, judgment will begin.  I hope you are ready because He is coming whether you are ready or not!
