Jihad Thwarted in Oregon

Doesn't this guy look weird? Put some horns on him and see what happens.

Mohamed Osman Mohamud, 19, was arrested and charged with attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction.  This young man (shown at right) is a Somali-born individual who is still united with his “brothers in jihad.”  Though having lived in the United States for year, he is said to have acted alone in trying to blow up innocent people in the name of Allah.

Federal agents and local authorities thwarted his efforts and as he was being arrested, he resisted by kicking police officers and yelling the now famous “Allahu Akhkbar,” a cry of victory, but in his case, one of defeat.

What troubles me however is not so much what this young man attempted to do, which is heinous enough.  What bothers me is what other Muslims in this country say, who are purportedly moderate, unlike the Satanic-looking 19-year old shown in this article.

A few days ago I received a note from another Muslim opposed to my articles against Shariah Law, against Jihad, and against Islam in general for the hate it preaches.  He stated, “Hold on tight, because we will take over. In no shape or form that you think. Islam is a religion on peace, yes, these extremists are making that hard to see. We Muslims dont’ support it either. There’s plenty of events where Christians did thing…ex: there was a Christian that tried to take the twin towers down few years ago. Does that mean I’m afraid of all of them? NO.

“YES there are extremists, but reading your article…this is the kind of stuff that illeterate people spread amongst the media and ppl grow the fear and hatred for each other. Keep going, these books and thoughts won’t get anywhere. I pray that people really understand Islam as a religion and not through eyes of media.” (emphasis added)

I’m sure the individual I just quoted above would be pained to see another one of these extremists being written about in the media he believes does not treat Islam fairly.  In fact, the media seems to bend over backwards in its attempt to placate Muslims and Islam in general, much of that having to do with the fact that we have a president who is sympathetic toward them, likely being a closet Muslim himself.

As for the claim that Islam is a religion of peace, can someone explain to me what Islam in this country (or anywhere) has done to prove that it is a religion of peace?  Everywhere you look, you see suicide bombers, death and mayhem from what is repeatedly said to be a minority.  Well, if they are such a minority, then it should be easy to stop them.  On the contrary, not only can we NOT stop them, but individuals like the one I quoted above make no move at all to stop them.  They simply shake their heads and say they are not like those extremists.  That does nothing to rectify the problem.

If they aren’t causing mayhem, they are using our own laws in America against us, as in the case of the Oklahoma branch of CAIR that has sued the state for the recent passage of a law that prohibits any form of Shariah Law to be used in American courtrooms.  If they believe (as stated) that it is impossible anyway for our courts to use Shariah Law, then what is the problem?  The argument that this law stigmatizes Islam is fallacious as it is Shariah Law itself and the extremists who follow it religiously that has stigmatized Islam.

We will see more and more of these terrorists in waiting attempt to use their weapons of mass destruction on innocent people.  They will do so to make a point.  The point is that Islam is a religion of peace.

Whether it is Imam Rauf, this 19 year-old from Oregon, or the individual who wrote me (and quoted above) to say that I am wrong, filled with hate, and will eventually succumb to Islam, the message is very, very clear.  Islam is not a religion of peace.  It is a religion of VICTORY, that is won through a path of militant aggression, not peaceful activism.

Thank goodness for the FBI and other agencies who are working to keep the people of the United States safe.  In this day and age however, we cannot depend fully on the FBI and other sectors of the government, especially considering the fact that this particular administration has gone on the offensive and placed many radicals in positions of high authority in our government.

Are you afraid to die?  If you are, your life from here on out will become filled with paranoia and fear; fear of the unknown and fear that every day may be your last due to an unscheduled bomb going off where you least expect it.  Tell me, is that all that different from living your life and not knowing when your last breath will come anyway, through natural means?  Does it matter how or when you leave this life?  Only one thing matters and that is whether you know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior or not.  Jesus is the only Prince of Peace.  He came to break down the wall that kept us away from God the Father.  Jesus – God the Son – came to give us life and that we might have it abundantly.

The life we live here is temporary at best.  It is only when we receive the only salvation that is available to us – through Jesus Christ based on His life and work on Calvary’s cross – that we gain what this life cannot provide – eternal salvation.

I pray that this is you.  I pray that you have salvation.  If not, I pray that God will open your eyes to the truth so that you can embrace it.  That truth is not found in Islam, Buddhism, or any other religion apart from Christianity.  It is found only in God the Son, Jesus, who lived a perfectly sinless life, offered Himself for the remission of our sin on the cross, died a bloody and painful death, became sin and was treated as if He was sin, rose from the dead three days later, and offers the truth of salvation to all who believe in Him and what He accomplished for us.

If this does not describe your life, I pray that you will – in earnest – seek God with all your heart.  Seek His truth.  Seek His salvation.  Seek Him today.
