Did You Hear that Osama bin Laden Might Not Be Dead?

That, and the possibility that he was killed nearly ten years ago, kept on ice, and brought out just at the right politically-expedient time represent some of the latest thinking on the bin Laden situation!  Whoo hoo.

Funny how some conspiracies theories come to light after just about any and every major occurrence that has anything to do with the government of the United States.  The truth of the matter though is that this situation does seem politically expedient for Mr. Obama, having recently announced his re-election campaign.

Do I believe that bin Laden has been dead for up to ten years and sitting on ice somewhere?  No, because had he been previously killed, certainly Bush would have used his body for political gain at some point, not leave his body there so that another president (specifically a Democrat) can use it for his political gain.  It simply doesn’t make sense.

Others say that the pictures of bin Laden in death pose, with bloodied face running around the Internet are fake.  That’s because they are fake and they are obvious fakes.

The U.S. gov’t says they have DNA proof and photos of bin Laden’s body.  They are trying to decide whether or not to show that information to the world in the hopes of proving what they have stated.  All the world can do is wait.

One thing seems certain.  If bin Laden were still alive as some say, he would pop up and laugh the U.S. to scorn.  While I understand an audio made shortly before his killing in a firefight is now circulating the ‘Net, it clearly took place prior to his being killed.  Of course, Al-Qaeda will use it as propaganda to say that he is still alive, but under deeper cover.  It’s all a political game of hide and seek, but the truth must prevail and can so in a big way through the use of logic.

As far as the possibility of bin Laden not being dead, as some state or imply, it appears the U.S. gov’t has gained control of a number of computers, hard drives and other storage devices that were located in the walled home where bin Laden and others purportedly lived.  Apparently, the search of these devices has already indicated other terrorist plots in the making.

Analysts are already stating that due to this event, Mr. Obama has received an increase in ratings by approximately 9 points.  Not sure why, since if it was not for Bush placing troops over there and the intel that began a full two years ago, the recent events surrounding bin Laden’s death would not have occurred.

Of course, leftheads say that Bush had lost interest in bin Laden and didn’t care about him.  While this is true, there are any number of reasons he could have said that (and it is a fact that he said that):

1. it would be used as a redirect to make the world think that the U.S. had lost interest in finding bin Laden.  In this way, bin Laden might relax a bit and be found more easily
2. while he himself (Bush) may no longer have been interested in finding bin Laden, this does not necessarily mean that people from any area of the U.S. gov’t were no longer looking for him
3. he may have in fact not been interested and gave the order that no one in the U.S. gov’t should continue to look for bin Laden

The first option seems the most likely and the third option seems the least likely.  Since when does our gov’t tell us what they are doing behind the scenes?  We know precious little about what the Obama Administration is doing and at least some of that (like this latest military action to capture bin Laden) is due to national security issues.

Nonetheless, whether Republican or Democrat, politicians will use events like this to further their political careers.  For today’s average voter, it does not seem as though it takes much to win them over, or sour them on a candidate.

In this day and age, it seems that it has become far more difficult for leaders to keep the attention of people, even those who vote for them.  I read not long ago that within the Black community, more individuals seem to be turning away from supporting Obama.  They are disillusioned as well.

So is bin Laden truly dead?  I believe he is, but that doesn’t mean that he actually is dead.  I’m thinking that the recent scenario that took place behind a walled compound is where bin Laden’s life on this side of eternity ended.

Time will tell.
