Did Mr. Obama REALLY Want to Go After Bin Laden? Maybe Not…

According to Atlas Shrugs, there was a bit of consternation within Mr. Obama regarding going after bin Laden. Apparently, he may have been fully unwilling to “sign off” on the deal that eventually allowed the Navy Seals to do what they are trained to do. Thanks to Study-Grow-Know reader Alf, for pointing this out. Read on from Atlas Shrugs:
“As Obama continues to politicize and mine the takedown of Osama Bin Laden and the outrageous “Islamic burial” that followed, new details emerge of his reluctance and refusal to sign off on the mission. It is the height of hypocrisy and crass opportunism to draw out the release of the death photos so as to prolong the news cycle on the story, and to neglect the tornado-ravaged parts of the country — instead, Obama campaigns at Ground Zero on Thursday for an “O-victory lap,” while it appears that in fact Obama had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the OBL operation.
“The story that follows is deeply disturbing, but hardly surprising. When news broke that Obama rejected bombing the complex last month, one had to wonder why. It was reported that Obama feared collateral damage, despite being assured that the walls of the complex were high enough so that no civilians would be killed. Instead, he risked losing Americans in a mano-a-mano raid.”
For the entire story, read it here at Atlas Shrugs…

I guess we will never every really know, but that is not what I heard. I heard Rumsfeld and Bush were not prepared to authorise a unilateral strike into Pakistan without Pakistan’s knowledge or consent, something which Obama did (and has for a while through drone strikes). Whilst I agree most of the credit probably lies with Bush, Obama does deserve some credit (however small) for making the gusty decision of authorising a unilaterial SF strike into another sovereign nation, without any promise of sucess. If it had gone wrong, he would have been just as blamed – so why doesn’t he deserve taking some of the credit? The buck stops with Obama – both for the good and bad.

Think what you like Simon. The reality seems to be that he came along kicking and screaming to go after bin Laden. He apparently did NOT want to do it – did you actually read my blog, or did you simply use it as another excuse to disagree with me?
My problem is that the liberal media absolutely REFUSES to give Bush ANY credit.
In spite of the fact that Mr. Obama did NOT want to go after bin Laden, he gave the order. Now, he is doing his “victory” tour with stops at Ground Zero and another photo op with the actual Navy Seals that led the assault.
This is in spite of the fact that large portions of the United States are trying to pick up the pieces after an unbelievable number of tornadoes devastated areas of the country, flooding continues and all the damage that comes from that.
This whole thing is a crock and Mr. Obama’s politicising the 9/11 and bin Laden’s death for his personal gain is unconscionable, yet to him it comes naturally since he is so full of himself.
Liberals reading this will say that I “hate” Mr. Obama and that is because I am a “racist.” The liberal media had a field day with George W. Bush, ridiculing him for taking “naps” during the day, supposedly taking too long to do anything after the planes hit the towers and making fun of his southern speech every chance they could. They loved to hate the man. As I said in my blog, the only difference between reactions to Bush and Obama is the color of Obama’s skin, which allows people to pull out the race card. Liberals and leftheads alike have become quite a quick draw there too. Of course, practice makes perfect.
