Alphas on SYFYP – What Does It Mean?

I’m watching the pilot episode of “Alphas,” a new show on Sci-Fi Network (SYFYP).  The episode summary reads, “Messages send a man to a rooftop where he executes an improbable shooting.”

In the show, there are a number of individuals who possess special abilities.  They are “alphas.”  One can hear things beyond the ability of the normal human being.  Another can override a person’s will with her words.  Still another has super-strength and more.  In fact, the same people involved with this show, had a hand in X-Men.

In this episode, the individual who winds up shooting a person is stationed on a roof, across the parking lot from the building where an arrested man is being interviewed at a table.  The shooter aimed across the roof, the bullet entered the building’s air shaft at a 30 degree angle, and incidentally went directly into the skull of the man being interviewed.  The bullet was a .30 caliber, shot from a high-powered rifle.

The shooter was a normal guy, working in a grocery store.  He began hearing the phrases “time to kill,” and “pull the trigger,” first from his boss, then from other people along the street.  Wherever he looked, he saw the papers with headlines “Time to Kill” or on billboards, etc.

It was clear that the man did not understand what he was doing but did it perfectly.  He eventually entered a building, went to the roof where a rifle was hidden under some garbage.  He pulled the rifle out, put it together as though a sniper, set it up and at the exact moment, heard “pull the trigger” and squeezed off one round.  The bullet found its victim.  In fact, the shooter – an alpha, is also an ex-marine.

As it turns out, some of the alphas are being controlled by someone else with a great deal of power.

The interesting thing about this series is that it is supernatural, like a growing number of shows on TV.  In fact, I would say that there are more paranormal and supernatural-type shows on TV now than I have ever seen.  That could be due to the increased number of channels, but I believe it’s also due to the powers of darkness and the interest these types of shows have for people in general.

Not long ago, I published a book called “Evil Rising.”  In it, I discussed aspects of society that may sound very strange to many of us, but may in fact, be part of society though remaining unseen for the most part.  I mentioned what Russ Dizdar calls “The Black Awakening.”  This is the idea that there are thousands of people living now who have been brainwashed and while they currently live seemingly normal lives, are simply waiting to be “awoken” from their normalcy, when they will become an army for darkness.  Their mission is to create ultimate chaos and havoc throughout society in preparation for a satanic takeover.  It sounds fantastic of course, complete science fiction.

One other point to note about this show.  The term “alpha” has to do with our brain activity.  During periods of meditation, the desired result is to access the alpha waves.  Put another way, as the person meditating goes into a deep trance, the alpha waves of the brain are freed from the confines of other brain waves.  These alpha brain waves are then susceptible to outside thoughts and forces.  In essence, the door is open to the spiritual realm and anything can walk in with their thoughts.

Demons of course know this, so their goal is to get people to do things that open doors to them and their supernatural realm.  Once the door is open, they waste no time entering.  Many things will open the door, activating the alpha waves of the brain.  Drugs will do it.  Meditation will do it.  Brainwashing will do it.

Ultimately, it seems that this is what this show is about.  It presents the alphas as a good thing, something that we would all want to aspire.  The problem of course is that the underlying message is the same as the New Age message.  We are all gods and once we activate our own inner deity, nothing will be kept from us.  We can create our own reality.

I frankly believe that shows like “Alphas” is designed to lower people’s guard.  We become far more accepting of shows likthey become this and therefore, they become normal to us.  In fact, for the uninitiated, people start to want to become like the “alphas.”  “Our minds are capable of so much more than you think.”  This is what the doctor says to an alpha.

It’s the age-old message of Satan.  If we use our minds to their fullest ability, we can create anything because we are gods.  We can’t do that, but most people do not know this.  Satan lies to us, making us think that our “powers” are inherent within us.  In fact, he tempts us to open the door to him and his minions.  Once we comply, he bathes us with power that we come to believe is within us.  In reality, he is simply using his own power through us, which makes the person believe they are accomplishing something magnificent.

The whole lie that Satan throws our way is built on an untruth.  The only true part of it at all is that the alpha wave exists in each person’s brain.  But the alpha wave is also the pipeline to Satan and his territory.  He wants people to provide that path to him, to open the door.  Once open, it’s difficult to get rid of him.  As long as he can keep people from realizing that it’s all a trick to confuse and brainwash people into thinking they have truly become gods.

Shows like “Alphas” go a long way in free advertising for Satan.  It lowers the resistance and opens up a person’s mind to the possibilities that exist if is we can but use more of a brain.

As we move toward the Tribulation, the world is fast becoming fully brainwashed.  People are coming to believe that what is fantasy – or better yet, what is satanic – is the norm.  It’s not the norm.  It’s the same ol’ broad road that leads to destruction.  Are you on it?

I find it sad that the capabilities of the the human mind and what miracules feats we are able to accomplish are labeled by the limited minds of the select few who view themselves as the moral compass of the world ,lable anything they cannot or will not comprehend as the works of satan

      Hi Robert.

While you are being sad, I’m saddened for you. I don’t label everything I do not understand as being from Satan. As far as my moral compass goes, I do use the Bible for that, while you use yourself. You are your highest authority. God is mine. While you may choose to believe in and worship a different god, or none at all, the reality is that you have decided for yourself what you think is correct and moral.

By the way, I’m not trying to be YOUR moral compass at all. All I have done is present my opinion on something. If you disagree with my opinion – which you obviously do – that’s fine. The idea that I cannot comment on something because someone like yourself believes that in doing so, I am somehow trying to BE the moral compass for everyone is asinine, Robert. Did you read what you wrote before you hit the “send” or “post” button?

I don’t understand quantum physics, but I also do not think it is satanic. I do not understand many things in Creation, none of which I ascribe to Satan. However, when it comes to the spiritual realm, the Bible is my guide because it seems to peel back the layers of those particular dimensions that we cannot see.

You obviously use a different measuring rod, but in the end, it is how you feel about something. Good luck with that.

    Hi Fred,

Well, I am a christian and I like this kind of entertainment because it has imagination and creativity. I agree with you that more and more people nowadays are getting stupid. Like the new Bible in which they humanize Jesus. And “Lady” Gaga. Atheists are not the most intelligent people. Well I believe that the world will end when everyone becomes atheist. I really like your articles. Keep up the good work. Peace and Blessings.

      Hi John,

You certainly could be correct. I’m a bit jaded when it comes to simply entertainment though. Because there is so much of this type of thing built into many types of programming, it just seems much more than coincidental to me.
