Islam, the End Times, and Satan

If we consider the End Times scenario and the fact that Islam is on the rise as it is currently, it is difficult to ignore the obvious conclusion.  It certainly appears that Islam is not only having a major impact on the world, but will become a force to be reckoned with as time moves on toward the beginning of the Tribulation and throughout its duration.

I’m not a prophet.  I cannot see into the future, aside from what the Lord has dictated throughout His Word.  We know that certain things will take place and it would appear that many things are converging to make those events the reality for the world.

For instance, do we need to discuss in detail the very fact that throughout the globe, country after country appears to be teetering on the edge of chaos created by financial doom?  Our own country is experiencing financial problems of epic proportions that do not seem to be directed toward a solution that will retain any financial stability for America.

Greece, Italy, and too many other countries to count are all experiencing major downturns in their economy and a good portion of it has to do with the fact that in many of those countries, entitlements – created through a type of Socialism – have overwhelmed the individual economies and no one seems willing to give up what they have gotten used to receiving for free.  Not long ago in Greece, protests and riots broke out over the government’s need to clamp down on all the freebies to which the citizenry had become accustomed.

Like dominoes, one country after another is going through tremendous civic unrest.  When we couple this with all of the severe weather that has been experienced throughout the world, it becomes clear that the overall situation of the globe is not good at all.  We wake up to ask ourselves what else has happened to cause more problems in the world.  We do not wake up thinking that things might have been resolved.

Add to this burgeoning economic catastrophe the growing assault of Islam on society and what we are experiencing is literally a potential powder keg beyond the proportions we are actually able to grasp.  This is not only tragic, but terrifying for the average individual.

All of this upheaval simply feeds the fears of people throughout society and Islam takes advantage of it.  In fact, it seems clear enough that Islam actually feeds on and grows based on the fact that there is so much disorder and growing fear of the coming unknown.  Far from Islamists being afraid of what the average person fears, they are encouraged by it because they see it as allowing them to gain more power to spread Islam.  The more they can spread Islam, the sooner the final Mahdi will arrive on earth.  Once he arrives on earth, Islamists believe that he will usher in peace by creating a world where only one religion exists and of course, that religion will be Islam.

It is difficult for the average Westerner to appreciate the attitude that Islamists have toward their own religion.  They seem to thrive on the anger and vehemence that wells up within them when they consider the fact that they appear to be drawing closer to the time when Islam will reign supreme.  It is somewhat riveting to watch unfold.

I believe – as many do – that Islam is not a religion per se.  It is an ideology.  I also believe as do others that Islam’s god is none other than Satan.  Certainly, while those are fightin’ words as far as Islamists are concerned, the reality is that it is very likely the truth.  There are too many similarities between Satan, what he does and how he thinks of himself, with Allah and what he allegedly does and what he allegedly thinks of himself.

In a nutshell, Satan lives and is motivated by hatred.  He hates Jews because salvation came from the Jews in the form of Jesus.  He not only hates Jews, but he hates all who honor the only, true, living God of the universe.  What Satan does not like to let on is that he hates all of God’s Creation, even those who will die and awake to the fact that they are in hell, awaiting their final judgment that places them in the Lake of Fire.

Satan hates everything and everybody…except himself.  Allah is much the same.  Through the teachings of the Qur’an, Allah extols the “virtues” of killing all who are not Muslim, especially Jews.  That alone should tell us something.  The Qur’an is a book filled with violent retribution toward any and all who deign to stand in the way of Allah.

There are many similarities between Satan and Allah; too many similarities to ignore.  If we were to lay what we know about Satan and Allah side by side, we might be surprised to learn how remarkably alike these two beings are when all is said and done.

Ezekiel 28:12 tells us that Satan was more glorious than any other creature.  Interestingly enough, the Qur’an teaches that Allah is the most glorious, (Qur’an 11:73).  We also know that Satan was a created angel and that he was a mighty angel.  Allah is also described as mighty in many places in the Qur’an and the Hadith.  It is also noteworthy to point out that Allah never spoke directly to humanity, but through an angel.

Just as Satan uses his God-given wisdom and power to deceive the masses, beginning with the third of the angels who followed him in his rebellion and then to Adam and Eve, which ultimately subjugated the entire human race to him, Allah uses his wisdom and power to overcome humanity.  To read the Qur’an teaches us that Allah is a god of violence.  Since his fall from grace, Satan has lived to do violence to God’s Creation.

Just as Satan’s pride created within him the penchant to destroy what God created through lying and deceiving humanity and brought Satan to the point of believing that he would become literally equal with God, Allah is filled with this same type of pride.  We are told by Muslims that Islam is a religion of peace, but apparently, multitudes of Muslims have gotten a different message, a message that allows them to beat their wives, have multiple wives, lie to gain an advantage, and kill those who are not followers of Allah.

I saw a video not long ago where a number of Christians went into the Arab Festival in Dearborn, MI.  They were being protected by the city’s police officers and it was not long before pushing and shoving matches began.  That quickly escalated to punching.  As the cameras rolled (of the Christians), one Muslim was heard to ask repeatedly, “Is this the love of Jesus?”  Of course, it was Muslims who threw the punches, flipped off the Christians, and spit on them and at them.  In spite of this, the Muslim asking the question directed this question to the Christians, as if they were the ones who started the fight by throwing punches first.  While they can readily point out what they consider to be “unloving behavior,” they apparently have a very difficult time placing the blame where it rightly belongs.

We might ask these same Muslims about their counterparts in Egypt.  The Muslims there are involved in burning Coptic Christian Churches to the ground, killing and injuring hundreds of Christians all because the Muslim Brotherhood (originating in Egypt) wants the entire region to become Islamic.  Is that loving?  The same Muslims here who condemn what happened at the Arab Festival would likely respond that what their brothers in Egypt are doing is fine because it is taught in the Qur’an.  In this way, the Muslims in Egypt are doing their part to define peace.  Of course, peace in this regard means eliminating anything other than Islam.  That is how peace is defined for the Islamist.

Hate-speech is something that Muslims want outlawed when that speech is directed against Islam.  However, they have no problem protesting with their signs and banners held high proclaiming that all non-Muslims should be killed.  If someone deigns to discuss the actual history of their prophet Muhammad, which effectively points out the fact that he was a pedophile and murderer, this they believe is nothing more than hate-speech and should be outlawed.  Many within the United States seem more than willing and ready to make that happen.

We know that in the Hebrew language, the term “Satan” means “Accuser,” (Job 1).  We know from the writings of Peter that this is what Satan does daily where Christians are concerned.  He roams around seeking whom he may devour through his lies and castigation, (cf. 1 Peter 5:8-9).  This is what Satan does.  It is his native language and Allah does the same thing, accusing all non-Muslims of deserving death at the hands of Muslims (cf. Qur’an 8:12; 9:5).

The Arabic word for “Allah” simply means “god.”  This is not a name so much as it is simply a noun or a label.  Satan is referred to as the god of this world.  This is exactly what Paul says in 2 Corinthians 4:4a, “…in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving…” (emphasis added).

Other sections of Scripture refer to Satan as the prince of this world (cf. Ephesians 2:2), or the ruler of this world (cf. John 12:31).  What these references simply mean is that Satan has been and will continue to be allowed by God to control many aspects of the world’s affairs, specifically as they relate to unbelievers.  At the same time, God controls all things and all things will progress to their God-intended ends.  Satan, in the end, is simply God’s puppet.

I find it fascinating that not once did Allah ever reveal his name to Muhammad.  Not once.  That is amazing, isn’t it; if we consider the fact that the God of the Bible has many names.

As we move toward the end of the world – literally – we should be gaining a sense that while Satan has spent his entire existence once he fell keeping his identity a secret, it would seem that the time of secrets is coming to an end.

Consider that Satan did not walk up to Eve as Satan, fallen Lucifer.  He chose to use the body of the serpent, masking himself from Eve.  It is very likely that in the Garden of Eden, not only did nothing prior to the fall provide any reason to fear, but it seems clear enough that Eve in Genesis 3 was not taken aback by the fact that an animal actually talked to her.  From Eve’s lack of concern, we can assume that this may have been a regular occurrence.  We don’t know that for sure of course, nonetheless, we know that the Serpent’s presence did not scare Eve.

However, I have often wondered whether or not Eve would have reacted with something akin to fear had Satan come to her as himself.  Again, we don’t know because Scripture does not tell us, but it seems reasonable that both Eve and Adam – being perfect (though untested) – might have come to realize that there was some malevolence beneath Satan’s own skin.  Having been used to seeing serpents and all sorts of animals that never threatened them in any way would not seem odd at all.  At the same time, Satan was likely far different from every other creature and being in the Garden of Eden and that fact alone may have alerted them to something.

Nonetheless, Satan has always seemed to want to hide his true identity from people.  What he began with Adam and Eve he has continued to this day.  Though, as I stated, I’m wondering if he is finally ready to throw caution to the wind and begin to show the world Satan.  We know that in the Antichrist, the world will meet charm beyond what they can understand.  They will see in him the perfect combination of charm, intellect, intelligence and even patience.  This is what the world will see for a time – roughly three and a half years.  However, once Antichrist waltzes into the Holy Place and defiles the Temple (cf. Daniel 9; Matthew 24), the mask will come off.  From that point onward, the world will begin to see the Antichrist for who he is and it will not be pretty.

I’m wondering though if that is what we are seeing with Islam now.  In other words, the second half of the Tribulation will be Islam gone wild, with the Antichrist in the lead.  Revelation 13 makes it clear that anyone who does not worship the beast or his image will be killed.  This is what Islam wants to do now to people who do not yield to Allah and Islam.

It is as if Satan is preparing the murderous arm of his religion for the second portion of the Tribulation.  He is involved in doing now what Islam, led by the Antichrist will do with virtually no holds barred then.

There is a great amount of discussion concerning the “mark of the beast,” spoken of in Revelation 13.  We learn from that chapter that those who do not take the mark on either their foreheads or right hand will be slaughtered in cold blood.  Moving ahead to Revelation 20, we learn that multitudes of believers during the Tribulation will be beheaded for their refusal to worship the Antichrist or take his mark.  Islam specializes in beheading its victims as a sacrifice to Allah.  What is happening today throughout the world will be done in such numbers during the Tribulation that John said the number of people persecuted to death through beheading is a number that no man could count! (cf. Revelation 7:9).

But what about the “mark of the beast”?  Do we know what it is?  No and many have tried to pin it down.  Maybe it’ll be something very simple.  Maybe it will be the Arabic lettering for “Allah” that is simply a few swirls of the pen.  This reference to “Allah” is a reference to Satan.  What better way to ensure that people are worshiping him than by having his name – or the Arabic equivalent – tattooed on their forehead or right hand?

We live in a society where tattoos are not simply relegated to the top of the arm.  Tattoos are fashion statements, covering major portions of a person’s body.  It has gotten to the point of being asinine.  I cannot believe how many people are nearly completely covered with tattoos so that very little of their skin can be seen.  It is becoming even more common today to have tattoos on your neck, or forehead, or cheeks, or near the Adam’s apple.  It’s just a bit too weird and it’s all happened within the last ten years or so.  People are turning themselves into living murals so adding one more tattoo containing a few Arabic letters that spell out “god” (Allah) is not a hardship and certainly, because of the flow of the letters, people will think of interesting ways to make it work with the tattoos they already have on them.

There are many things that are ramping up toward the culmination of human history, which begins with finality at the start of the Tribulation.  This ramping up is having a major effect on society today, worldwide and without realizing, people are simply being swept up in the plans and pursuits of Satan, the Accuser of our souls.

My wife and I had lunch with some Christian friends the other day and we got to talking about the End Times and the rise of Islam.  My concern of course is for this country that seems to be heading into the abyss now.  I still hold out the belief that God could give us a leader in 2012 who supports Israel and who fears the Lord.  It’s certainly possible.  At the same time, it is possible that we have the leader we have because he is there to take us that much closer that much more quickly to the time just prior to the Tribulation.  If that is the case, then it’s doubtful that God will replace him with someone else.  Let’s be realistic.  If we are that close to the start of the Tribulation (which could conceivably be merely a few years away), there is not much good in putting in a leader who supports Israel, especially given the fact that in the end, all nations will be against Israel and that seems to imply that even Canada will be against her, though that nation certainly supports Israel now.  Daniel, Ezekiel, Zechariah and other places in Scripture bear this out.

My goodness, but with the way things are moving throughout the world and especially in the Middle East, the Northern Invasion spoken of in Ezekiel 38-39 could happen seemingly any day now.  If that’s the case, this will be followed by seven years of burning the weapons from the armies that die in that invasion.  This event seems to certainly occur prior to the Tribulation since the Bible clearly tells us that it will take seven years to burn everything left over and it is doubtful that this type of burning will continue into the Millennial Kingdom reign of Jesus.  Ezekiel 39:9-10 speaks to this.  “Then those who inhabit the cities of Israel will go out and make fires with the weapons and burn them, both shields and bucklers, bows and arrows, war clubs and spears, and for seven years they will make fires of them.  They will not take wood from the field or gather firewood from the forests, for they will make fires with the weapons; and they will take the spoil of those who despoiled them and seize the plunder of those who plundered them,” declares the Lord GOD.”

I believe that Islam has a major part to play in the End Times scenario and it appears that what we see happening throughout the world bears this out.  The most important thing to me is that Islam appears to be nothing more than the religion that Satan created with himself as Allah.  It allows him to be much more out in the open than he has been previously.  Though Islam began in the A.D. 600s, it seems to have been lying dormant for the most part, except in small portions of the world.  Now, it has broken out of its shell with the assault that took place on 9/11 and for Islam, there appears to be no going back.

Though many have risen up against Islam to stem the growing tide, it really shows little sign of slowing.  In fact, if anything, it appears to be breaking at the seams.  It is as if standing against it simply encourages it, like throwing gasoline on a fire.  That does not mean that we should not stand against it.  It means that if God allows it, Islam will continue to grow and expand because it will be used by Satan as his religious arm during the Tribulation.

Twenty years ago, had you even heard of Islam?  Had you even considered that this type of ideology would gain such power in such a short time once it set its mind to it?  Obviously, the only thing that could bring that about is the diabolical power behind it.

It is unfortunate that Muslims believe they are on the right path.  It is sadder still that they believe they worship the god.  They don’t.  To tell them that, is to ask for trouble and certainly, I’m not advocating that type of evangelistic approach.  This knowledge is for us, so that we understand what we are up against.  We must realize that if Islam grows, it grows because God allows it to grow because He is granting room to Satan so that in the end, Satan will come to realize in every fiber of his being that he is absolutely no match for God.  Of course, we know he never has been.
