Mr. Obama’s Answer to His Debt Problem: Raise Taxes

I know the arguments.  I realize that liberals and socialists believe that taxing the heck out of the rich is what needs to happen in this country.  While yes, that will certainly bring in more to the Federal coffers, it will actually hurt the struggling economy.  If the rich are taxed more, they will be far less inclined to create jobs within the companies and corporations they own.

But the real problem here is not really with the rich.  Since gaining the highest office in the land, Mr. Obama has single-handedly created trillions of dollars in national debt.  In fact, since he has been in office, the national debt has soared past the 4 TRILLION dollar mark.  Yet, his plans to cut 1.4 TRILLION over the next decade is supposed to make us feel better about him and the economy.  If he can create 4 trillion in debt in just a few years, imagine what he could do with another four-year term!  Meanwhile, that 1.4 trillion he wants to cut over the next ten years would be swallowed up by the additional debt he could and would create.

This is the problem with liberals, leftists, and others like them.  They are so busy spending, spending, spending on programs they think are important that normally amount to more entitlements, that the only thing they know how to do in response to the debt they create is to raise taxes.

If Mr. Obama would roll back his expenditures on all the things he deems important, this country would b far better off than it currently is now.  He seems to either not notice that he has spent so much money, or he could care less that he has, believing that he has the right to do so.  He does not have the right to simply spend tax payer dollars hand over fist as he has been doing since he took office.

The nerve of him doing that and THEN blaming it on Bush is ridiculous.  While Bush did not leave this country in the best of shape, if truth be told, Mr. Obama has done absolutely nothing to improve this nation’s situation.  Apparently though, he believes spending far more than the Federal gov’t takes in is actually helping this country.  It isn’t.

While he complains about being in Afghanistan, he has put us on the ground in Libya.  Though he calls it a “kinetic military action,” it is a war.  Our troops are fighting and they are fighting on the ground.

I am so tired of the way Mr. Obama is handling our economy and how he makes decisions. His use of the “executive order” has come under fire and for good reason.  Like numerous presidents before him, using the executive order (which is not specifically decreed in the U.S. Constitution but is there in vague terms), places him outside of the political system of the United States.  It places the president above the other branches and in so doing, throws the natural balance between the powers off.  This was not intended to be the case by the founding fathers.  Use of the executive order can easily be problematic because it tends to smack of a dictatorship, where one lone individual forms the laws or principles upon which that government runs.

Because of the numerous uses of the executive order, Mr. Obama has simply shown that he is not willing to work within the system.  He resolutely stands against conservative ideals that push for smaller government, less spending, and a more fiscally conservative government overall.

Nothing in the world seems to affect Mr. Obama’s decisions.  With Greece and other countries experiencing major problems economically and politically, requiring them to adopt severe austerity measures in order to save what is left of their countries, Mr. Obama pushes blindly onward as if he has no clue about what is happening in America.  In truth, he either has no clue, or he is doing his best to drive this country into the ground.

Mr. Obama’s tax hike is being panned by Republicans and even Democrats.  It is because he wants to bring in more money to the Federal gov’t without making the necessary cuts that would make a huge dent in the out-of-control deficit.  He seems content to want to take more from Americans (in this case, the rich), without putting a rein on his own spending.  As stated, 1.4 trillion in cuts over a number of years is nothing, compared to the amount of debt he has personally already added to this nation’s economic situation.

This is what liberals and leftists do.  They want to provide more entitlements.  They want to give more away on the backs of those who work hard to receive what they have received.

The only people who buy into this are the ones who receive those entitlements.  They have their hands out and they believe they are “owed” what the government gives them.

I know of a street where on man owns a number of homes that he rents out.  On that street, there was a major police action.  Apparently, a good portion of the women on the street were prostituting themselves.  Cars would pull up to their rental homes, the driver would beep his horn, the woman would come out and they would take care of their business in the car, then the woman would head back into the house.

These women are in section 8 rental homes.  That means that the government pays the rent, the people actually living in the home do not.  So they get to live in a home free of charge, courtesy of the U.S. tax payer.  But it doesn’t stop there because they are all on some sort of disability as well.  Either they themselves have “back” problems or one of their many kids do requiring them to stay home taking care of their invalid kid, who incidentally walks and even runs around just fine and dandy.

So they have a home in which they pay nothing at the expense of our government.  They also receive disability.  Over time, they sneak in more of their relatives to live in a one or two-bedroom home – as many as eight or ten or more.  On top of that, at least one of the women in the house is a prostitute, which means they bring in more money.  This money is earned while lying on their backs – the backs that are disabled – and that money is tax-free.

Add it up.  They pay no rent, they receive disability checks, and they receive cash “donations” from men who are looking for quickies.  These people probably have more money than I do and yet they have the audacity to complain about it.  They firmly believe they are owed whatever they get from the government, but they find a way to complain about the fact that the government is cheating them.  Never mind that they are cheating the government because they have learned to play the system and are teaching their kids to do the same.

The liberals and leftists in the Federal gov’t are all too quick to agree that people who have no right to receive entitlements, will get them.  That takes tax payer dollars and the tax payers are tired of it.  This is why the Tea Party exists.  The Tea Party is made up of people who are Taxed Enough Already and are tired of giving away their hard-earned money so that more people can play the system and receive what they have not earned.

You know, in the Old Testament, if a man did not work, he did not eat.  If he was truly disabled, that was one thing, but even then, it fell on his family to care for that man.  There was no government system of freebies.  Those who were disabled and had no family to care for them, were at the mercy of those who would toss a coin or two in a cup as they passed the man who had no recourse but to beg.

Certainly, that is not the best system, but it did make people either work for a living or starve.  The beggars in Jesus’ day were beggars because they either had no family to care for them, or their family did not want to care for them.  In either case, they were on their own and lived from day-to-day, mouth to mouth.

In today’s day and age, too many people have become adept at taking what they have not earned.  Not only do they not even consider the fact that they should be out working, but the very thought is repugnant to them!  How dare anyone suggest they try to get a job!  Don’t we know that they are disabled?  Don’t they know that the world is against them?  Don’t they know that they have so many mouths to feed and it is the government’s responsibility to care for them?

No, it is not the government’s responsibility to care for people who produce more children than they can care for and no, it is not the government’s responsibility to make sure that though these people are not working, they have all the niceties that hard-working people have.  It is the government’s responsibility to spend tax payer dollars wisely, not foolishly.

Too many people use the system today.  They get away with way too much and instead of trying to put a stop to it, our Federal gov’t simply says “we need more tax money to meet the need.”

Recently, I was stopped for gas in Alabama.  It was at night and it was a seedy part of the town that we had stopped in.  It wasn’t long before I saw two people walking up behind me.  I’m pretty observant and aware of my surroundings.  I had already put some distance between them and myself so I could watch them as they approached.

Turns out it was a black couple, dressed fairly nicely.  Before they reached me I heard the man say “It’s embarrassing!” to the woman with him.  He then said, “Sir, my car blew a tire over there and it’s going to cost me $18 to fix it and I only have $7.  I don’t even have my license and it’s embarrassing!

Unfortunately, I felt this was a scam.  I used to live in Philadelphia and I think I’ve heard everything.  First, the man’s car was “up the road” and conveniently out of sight.  Second, he said he did not have a license, which means apparently he did not have a wallet either.  I guess he did not have a cell phone on him either.

I glanced at the woman and noticed that she had a huge purse she was carrying.  These two individuals were expecting me to believe that between them, neither one of them had money, credit or debit cards, a phone or anymore money than $7.  I hate to think it, but it seemed like a total crock to me.

I was having a difficult time not smiling too broadly, but did manage to say that I was on vacation from California and I was sorry that I did not have any extra money to give them.  They left, went across the street, and began hitting up the guy at that gas station.

In truth, who knows how much money those two collected that night.  I recall while living in Philadelphia, one day a beggar posted himself right in front of the school I attended in Center City.  He stood there from about 8 to Noon, simply begging for money.  At Noon, he went into the school, over the cafe, pulled out a huge wad of bills and ordered lunch.  After lunch, he took up his position outside until about 4, then left.  Who knows how much money that guy collected that day.

There are so many scams and so many people who play the system and the larger our government gets, the less able it is to discern the amount of scams.  The more entitlement programs they create, the less they are able to police those programs to ensure that only the people who really need help are getting it.

Mr. Obama does not seem to have a clue.  He seems unwilling or unable (maybe both) to rein in the Federal deficit.  He is simply not taking it seriously.  His paltry attempts to bring down the debt really amounts to nothing.

I’ll tell you what.  When George Soros starts paying millions and millions into the Federal coffers, maybe I’ll think differently about Mr. Obama and is “plans.”  Until then, he’s merely posturing by putting conservatives on notice and actually triple dog daring them to stand against his so-called plans.  He knows they will and that will give him another opportunity to say that he tried.  In truth, the only thing he’s tried to do – and succeeded – is increase the national debt by trillions.  So far, he has shown no real desire to cut the debt at all.

Raising taxes on the rich might seem like a good idea to some, but it’s flawed.  Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 plan (and it’s never been anything else, in spite of what some liberal leftheads claim) is far better because it is based on a percentage that applies across the board.  Mr. Obama is simply pitting the poor against the rich, whether he will ever be willing to admit that or not.
