It Is Time for Education About Islam

November 18, 2011 at 11:37 AM 1 comment

I am amazed at the number of people who either refuse to acknowledge the problems within Islam or are simply uneducated about it in the first place.  In my last blog, I talked about what is being reported in various parts of the world regarding some Muslim groups both in Europe and in the U.S. who want people to stop wishing each other a “Merry Christmas.”  Moreover, it was also stated that those who put Christmas lights up should go to hell.  At least one Muslim from Malaysia rose to defend Islam and condemn me for the information I was presenting.

The tragedy is that while this information I presented is easily verifiable, the individual Muslim proceeded to attack me on a personal level calling me an extremist, just as bad as extreme Muslims.  The reality of course, is that I have not threatened and/or killed anyone.  I have not strapped a bomb on myself in hopes of going out in a blaze of glory taking as many “infidels” with me as possible.

I have not been on a plane, attempting to set off a bomb in my shoe, nor have I wandered up and down the aisle of a plane telling everyone they are going to hell because they are not Islamic.  The truth of the matter is that many Muslims do not like it when people critique their religion.  But let’s get one thing straight.  I do not view Islam as a religion.  I view it as an ideology that seeks to incorporate every aspect of the individual Muslim’s life.  What this means is that what is good for Muslims is also good for the rest of the world.

This would be like me – as an authentic Christian – determining that my beliefs should be foisted upon the world.  Years ago, we had a bit of this through the Moral Majority.  The difference there though is that the Christians and conservatives who were involved in that were working through existing laws and through the voting process to solicit change in society, change that was believed to be for the better.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with that at all because as a citizen of this country, I am allowed to vote.  Since I am allowed to vote, why should I not vote for people who believe along the same lines that I do?  In fact, I would hasten to say that everyone does that, not simply Christians.

If something gets passed into law, then it usually goes through the court systems to determine its validity as a law, based on the U.S. Constitution.  If the courts determine that it is not Constitutional, then it gets tossed out.  These are the checks and balances we have that are built into the Democratic system in the United States.

As a Christian, I am not interested in attempting to overthrow established society with force, through threats, attempted murder, or murder.  Trying to establish a conservative mindset by using those methods is strictly prohibited by the Scriptures.

The danger of course of even trying to change society for the better is what happened with the Moral Majority.  Many began to think that the better we make society, the sooner Jesus will return.  This is absurd.  In fact, biblically speaking, whenever God visited earth (with the exception of the First Advent of Jesus), He did so in judgment.  In other words, He came to clean things up and has done this many times in history.  He will come a final time to clean up the earth after which He will establish His Kingdom rule for 1,000 years.  After that, this ol’ earth and the adjoining heavens will be destroyed, replaced with new ones.

People who believe that it is the Christian’s job to “purify” the earth by correcting society are the same people who believe aspects of Covenant Theology or Preterism.  It is not the Christian’s job to somehow try to “perfect” society.  It is the Christian’s job to call people to Jesus so that they can avoid hell.  That is our job.  If we take the Bible seriously (and literally), we will come to realize that God has a plan for this earthly globe and He (and He alone) will carry it out to fruition.

We are reminded that we are not in a war against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers in heavenly places (cf. Ephesians 6:12).  In other words, we fight what we cannot see, in the spiritual realm.  It is easy to think that we are fighting against people, but we are not.

This is another area where Islam and Christianity differ immensely.  Muslims see people who are not part of Islam as the problem.  We must be eradicated if we are unwilling to convert to Islam, if the Final Mahdi is to be revealed on this earth.  As Muslims work to overthrow society at all levels and in all areas of the world, then the way is made for the Final Mahdi to appear and to bring with him, peace.

As I mentioned to the Muslim who responded to my last blog (and told me pointedly that the Qur’an does not teach violence against those who are not part of Islam), there are at least 109 verses within the Qur’an that teach Muslims should constantly be on the attack where infidels are concerned. That’s 109 verses!

It is not as if these verses are taken out of context, because there is very little context to the Qur’an in the first place.  These verses are set forth much the way the book of Proverbs is set forth, by presenting one “saying” after another.  They are not necessarily in any order either.

Here are a few of these verses that some say do NOT teach violence against non-Muslims:

9:123 – Fight unbelievers who are near to you.

5:54 – O believers, take not Jews and Christians as friends; they are friends of each other. Those of you who make them his friends is one of them. God does not guide an unjust people.

Sura3 3:64: “Verily Allah has cursed the Unbelievers (whom he defined as Christians in the 5th surah “Believers, take not Jews and Christians for your friends.) and has prepared for them a Blazing Fire to dwell in forever. No protector will they find, nor savior. That Day their faces will be turned upside down in the Fire. They will say: ‘Woe to us! We should have obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger!’ ‘Our Lord! Give them double torment and  curse them with a very great Curse!’”

Referring to unbelievers, the Qur’an states, “(Sura 4:89) “seize them and slay them wherever you find them: and in any case take no friends or helpers from their ranks.”

9.123 “O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you”

9.73 “O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination.”

Sura 2:187-189 “And kill them wherever ye shall find them, and eject them from whatever place they have ejected you; for civil discord is worse than carnage: yet attack them not at the sacred Mosque, unless they attack you therein; but if they attack you, slay them. Such the reward of the infidels…Fight therefore against them until there be no more civil discord, and the only worship be that of God: but if they desist, then let there be no hostility, save against the wicked.”

2:190-292 “Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits, for Allah does not love transgressors. And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out: For tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; But fight them not at the sacred Mosque unless they first fight you there; But if they fight you, Slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith.”

2:193 “And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and let there prevail justice and faith in Allah; but if they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression.”

I could continue citing various verses from the Qur’an (and I could also delve into the Hadith) that depict violence as a normal way of life for the “good” Muslim.  But what if I am wrong?  What if there are other meanings that I have not seen in the verses above?  What then?

If I am wrong, then I am wrong, but the focus should not be on ME.  In fact, if I am wrong, then so are the millions of Muslims throughout the world who currently believe the above verses are to be taken as they are stated; literally.  This is how they live.  This is what they do.  In this, they represent Islam to the world and we see their efforts to destroy those who are not Muslims.

There are many nations in the Middle East alone that live by Sharia Law and it is not pretty.  Women are treated disdainfully and there is absolutely no grace at all when someone breaks the law.  While it might be argued by many of those Muslims that the U.S. shows too much grace to criminals, I would rather our government err on the side of caution than on the side of violent retribution.

People need to understand – whether Islam is really violent by nature or not – that there are MILLIONS of Muslims throughout the world who earnestly believe that the Qur’an teaches they should live by violence.  They believe they are in a war with unbelievers; infidels.  The only reaction the unbeliever if that unbeliever will not convert to Islam is to kill him/her.  I’m not saying ALL Muslims believe or live like this, but there are MILLIONS who do.

Those are the Muslims that need to be taught that Islam is not a religion of violence (if that is the actual case).  Telling me that I am wrong solves nothing, although the Muslims who tell me that I am wrong have no concern that I am going to react violently to their message.

The fact that these same Muslims will not DARE to attempt to teach “extremist” Muslims that they are misunderstanding the Qur’an, tells me a great deal.

It is easy to attack me and other Christians and secularists who know the truth about Islam.  It’s very easy to do that because of the fact that I will not retaliate if verbally attacked.  I WILL protect myself if physically attacked; of that we can be sure, but I will not promote violence nor will I react with violence if someone simply tells me that I don’t know what I’m talking about.

The real problem is NOT me.  It is the radical Muslim who exists to bring Allah’s kingdom on earth through the next caliphate.  These Muslims – numbering in the millions worldwide – will stop at nothing to bring about that next caliphate.  To them, violence is the tool of choice.

They read the Qur’an (or are taught the Qur’an) and the message they learn is that any means necessary to bring about the next caliphate should be used.  Violence is at the top of the list.  Yet too many “moderate” Muslims shrug those individuals off, trying to make the world believe that there are only a handful of those types of Muslims throughout the world.  Of course, they are generally safe from those types of Muslims because of their own connection with Islam.  However, it causes one to ask whether or not these “moderate” Muslims are really just agents of disinformation?  Sure, they could be sincere in their beliefs because they are not that educated about Islam and the many radicals who have taken the Qur’an literally, using it as a means of eradicating those who stand in opposition to Islam.

So the question becomes…how do I know when I am talking to a true moderate (peaceful) Muslim, or simply someone who is a radical Muslim and trying to pretend that he is a moderate one?  I CAN’T know.  It is unfortunately impossible and the truth is that the people who are to blame for this are the moderate Muslims.  Why?  Because they will not take a solid stance against radical Muslims.  Instead, they prefer to attack people like myself because they know that I will not respond in violence the way their brothers in Islam will and do.

So to you Muslims who say you are moderate (peaceful) and do not believe that the Qur’an teaches violence toward unbelievers, I say PROVE IT.  Take the hard road and take a stalwart stand against those who are erroneously interpreting the Qur’an to mean that they can use violence as a normal means of spreading Islam throughout the earth.

If you take on me and ONLY me, you have proven nothing, except that you are a coward.  If you choose to ignore what others are doing in the name of Allah and Islam, then YOU are just as guilty and culpable.  You have no right to attack me or anyone else, as long as MILLIONS of Muslims exist who fully believe that Allah has called them to violent, physical jihad against all who are not Islamic.

When you start to stand in the way of those who use violence as a normal means of spreading Islam, then I will start listening to you.  Until then, anything you say to me is simply empty words and nothing more.  While you might say that you are afraid to stand up to these radical Muslims, that’s too bad.

If you are afraid they are going to hurt or kill you, you have simply proven my point.  So what good does it do to argue AGAINST me?  Nothing.

Argue against those who also call themselves Muslims and use violence as the main means of bringing in the next caliphate.  Do it.  Do it now.  If you do not, then you are no better than the extremists you SAY you condemn.  Unfortunately, you are not telling THEM, are you?  We call that hypocrisy.

informed rational freedom loving people have all the reasons in the world to fear islam…

the twin fogs of political correctness & ignorance must be dispersed before western society better understands this menace. even a brief review of islamic theology & history quickly exposes the deadly roots of this evil ideology.

Mohamhead was a 7th century murdering warlord who rose to power on a river of blood surrounded by thugs and gangsters using intimidation, violence, deception and trickery to expand their criminal empire while mercilessly suppressing and killing their opponents and enriching themselves on stolen booty.

The evil koran is a collection of sayings and speeches by this diabolical madman claiming divine guidance from some mythical sky-god which has inspired generations of crazed fanatics to abhorrent behavior resulting in historys worst ever crimes against humanity starting 1400 years ago and still continuing even today.

Islam is just another fascist totalitarian ideology used by power hungry fanatics on yet another quest for worldwide domination and includes all the usual human rights abuses & suppression of freedoms.

and a snappy graphics version, great for emailing…
