Alderman on the Left – Dave Marston and His Liberal Tripe

February 28, 2013 at 7:51 AM 2 comments

This guy is really a piece of work and he needs to be outed for what he is and how he treats those with whom he disagrees.  Dave Marston is an Alderman in Hudson County, NY, you know, bastion of liberal progressiveness and hatred of Constitutional amendments.

Marston was recently caught with his foot completely in his mouth in an email response he sent to one Joanna Johnson-Smith, who is the main organizer of a 2nd Amendment Rally.  Before I go any further, let me say that this idea that is routinely bandied about that 92% of Americans want an assault on certain weapons is really nuts, yet because this figure is noted often, people accept it as truth.

In reality, according to the latest Gallup Poll, yes, a larger percentage of Americans want stricter gun laws, but still oppose gun bans. [1]  But, if you state something often enough – whether true or false – it becomes truth to a majority of people who do not think for themselves, nor do they do their own research.

Getting back to Marston, apparently, he’d had it up to here with those on the right who support the 2nd Amendment and let Joanna Johnson-Smith have it in his email to her.  It’s not pretty…unless you’re on the Left and also fully oppose the 2nd Amendment.  Then, it’s likely your truth.

Here is Marston’s email in its entirety to Johnson-Smith.

Dear Joanna Johnson-Smith,

Its really neat that all you gun toting tea party psychotards are so interested in the goings on of our little City, even though I find it amazing that you don’t have any other pressing issues before you in New Lebanon. On the other hand, I guess its not surprising, considering you ideologues aren’t interested in actual policy, but rather grandstanding on mythical narratives of victimization.

Two things: The only spit here is the white stuff frothing on the ends of that rotten little mouth of yours from which you spew this hateful ignorant trash. And a donkeys behind? The rabid ignorance of the fringe is best illustrated by its sad metaphors, I mean seriously, thank you for the laughs.

By all means, come on down, we’ll be happy to beat you barbarians back with the clubs of reason & responsibility, radical lunatics that you are. And say, a quick ProTip, since you’re the “organizer” for unemployed guns nuts USA. Next time you think these unhinged rants will change the mind of anyone who has even a modicum of intelligence, you might instead just go back down into your basement & watch another episode of wheel-of-fortune. It’ll certainly be just as effective. Remember: there are millions of Eagle Scout God Worshiping Patriots who find you & your radical ilk as disgraceful to American Democracy as the Brown Shirt jackboots you act like. I happen to be just one of them. Good Luck.

Best Regards,
David Marston

The sections in bold are in the original from which I have quoted.  It is clear that in one swell swoop, Mr. Marston has offended nearly everyone who is not on the Left.  He has referred to conservatives who happen to hold the entire Constitution near and dear as “radical lunatics.”  Anyone who owns a gun is also a “gun-toting Tea Party psychotard.”  You can read the rest.

Though Marston refers to “American Democracy,” I’d be willing to bet that he has no clue that America is a Constitutional Republic and not a Democracy.  For anyone who cares, there is a difference, and a huge one at that.

His email led to a backlash and in his own hometown, during a meeting held to discuss banning all guns at all city property (even if the person had a permit to carry), Marston and the rest of the council got more than bargained for and it is clear that they didn’t like it.  Because of the large crowd, “Committee President Moore said the group was upset at being confronted by such a large and angry crowd who were obviously ‘against us’ and stressed the committee was not trying to ‘do anything sneaky‘.” [3]

Apparently Moore is not aware of how democracy works either since people have a right to attend such a meeting.  If they were angry, that anger can be placed at the feet of Alderman Marston, who obviously needs to learn a few things about being a “public servant.”

For his part, Marston is quoted as saying, “I let my lesser self get the better of me.” [4]  Really?  To me, it appears as if Marston allowed his whole self to portray who he really is and once it got out, people saw it and didn’t like it.  So, now he’s trying to down play things.  The truth of the matter is that Marston wrote the email and sent it.  Since he wrote it, he must actually believe what he wrote.

He couldn’t even man up and admit that he made a mistake that was really without excuse.  Moreover, an apology to Joanna Johnson-Smith would have been in order, but according to the various reports I read, none was issued.*  So, how sorry was he in the end?  I’m sure he was very sorry he was caught, but I’m also quite sure – because of his complete lack of apology – that he meant every word he said.

I wrote Mr. Marston and have not received a reply yet.  There’s a good chance I won’t though he has replied to others.  My comments to him were professional and not demeaning.  I’m sure he would like the whole situation to go away.

One thing to note here is that these councils often try to do things that are completely against the law.  Washington DC and Chicago (as well as other areas) have tried to fully ban guns in their city or within city structures, but what they fail to forget (or simply choose to ignore) is that the Supreme Court ruled against this type of thing a number of years ago.  However, instead of recognizing the law, they have to be sued by the NRA or some other group in order to force them to do what is right, according to the law.

Even if this council had determined that they were going to ban guns from city buildings and property, existing codes and laws would have preempted what the council was trying to do.  If that’s the case, then we’re left with asking why a council would try to enact a law that is illegal on its face?  Is it because they don’t care about the rule of law or because no one on the council knows?  Considering the fact that a city attorney was present, you would think that the council would discuss the issue with her before trying to create a new law that would run afoul of the law, wouldn’t you?

This is too often the way the Left works.  They don’t seem to care about the rule of law.  They want what they want and they do what they can to achieve it.

It’s the same way with the Black principal at Mission Viejo Elementary School in Aurora, CO.  He decided that he would create an after-school program to help struggling children.  He also decided that no white students were allowed. [5]  Excuse me?  Yes, no white children allowed; only children of color would be able to participate, in spite of the fact that this is illegal and everyone who pays taxes – regardless of ethnicity – is to benefit from school-provided programs.  Apparently, he believes it is okay to have a racist attitude since he is black.

We all know that if the principal had been white and had created a program for students that only catered to white students, all hell would have broken loose.  Sharpton, et al, would have marched down there to condemn his actions and demand the principal be fired.  For once, I would have agreed with Sharpton too.

Yet, here is a black principal who is obviously racist and what happens?  Nothing.  I put in a call to the superintendent’s office and I’m still waiting to hear back.  Time for a reminder to her.

Why is there such a double standard that seems to be growing here in America?  Why is it perfectly fine for a 15-year-old girl in a Texas school to be punished for not being willing to participate in the pledge of allegiance to MEXICO. [6]  She had enough brains to believe and say that she did not feel she should be pledging allegiance to a foreign country.  School administrators disagreed and forced her to complete an assignment on Mexican Independence.

Why is it all right for other schools in Texas to “encourage” young girls to wear burkas to learn more about what it means to be a Muslim?  Why is it all right for these same schools to not use the term “terrorist” when it comes to radical Muslims, but instead urges students to see them as “freedom fighters”?  Yet, those who participated in the original Boston Tea Party are referred to as “terrorists.”  How is this possible?

It is because those on the Left are doing all they can to change the fabric of America.  They will use whatever they have at their disposal, including lies, to foment change.

We need to be very clear about something.  When any president or politician takes his “campaign” to the American people, we have to ask ourselves whether that president or politician truly understands the nature of the Constitution.

Obama continually wants to bypass Congress.  He prefers going straight to the people, encouraging them to force their Congressional representatives to do what he wants done.  This is fine to an extent, however, his first priority is to actually try to work with Congress, not circumvent them.  Beyond this, when he encourages the American people to tell their Congressional representatives to do something that is clearly against the Constitution, then he is guilty of not supporting the Constitution.  This is a treasonous act.

As much as those on the Left like Feinstein, Cuomo, Obama, Holder, and too many others to count would like to see the 2nd Amendment restricted or removed altogether, the Constitution does not allow for it.  It is that simple and because America is a Constitutional Republic, it is not up for debate.  The 2nd Amendment says it “shall not be infringed.”  It is clear, except to those who prefer to obfuscate and obliterate.  They want what they want and they are prepared to do anything they can to make that happen.

Alderman David Marston is a perfect example of someone who not only does not appreciate the Constitution, but has a complete lack of respect for those who do.  This seems to be a growing norm for those on the Left and when you have a media that supports everything those on the Left attempt to do, it tends to create a situation where the actual rule of law (based on the Constitution) is set aside in favor of what people want to exist.

The Constitution of the United States is not a document with a moving palette.  It says what it says.  Yes, I realize that there are several “interpretations” to it, but in reality, there is actually only one.  Simply put, the people on the Left disagree with those on the Right who say it means one thing.

For goodness sakes, we have the Attorney General of the United States – this country’s top cop – stating that the Constitution supports using drones to kill American citizens!  I read his memo.  Where does the Constitution say it supports to killing of American citizens without benefit of a trial?  Short answer:  it doesn’t.  Yet, this is the type of mentality we have in this nation’s highest offices and we wonder why law-abiding citizens are getting fed up with the demagoguery and chicanery of our elected officials; officials who are supposed to completely obey the dictates of the Constitution.

It is a joke anymore.  An absolute, tragic joke.  These people need to be run out of Congress on a rail, never to be heard from again.  They are backed by people and groups that have a ton of money and with that money comes incredible power.  That’s not the way it’s supposed to be and it’s certainly not what our founders created.  In fact, they did everything they could to ensure that this would not happen.

Unfortunately, once the Federal Reserve was created, along with the UN, and the Trilateral Commission, too many foreign sources gained at least partial control of America’s sovereignty.  We are seeing the results of their efforts that began decades ago.

This is why someone like Alderman Marston can say what he says and will simply ride this out and remain an Alderman.  It’s why a black principal in Colorado can create a situation where racism pushes out white students.  It’s why schools in Texas can cater to Mexico and Islam.

Obviously, this country needs a change, or as Jack Nicholson’s Joker said, it really needs an enema.  We need to flush out the system so that those who are doing everything they can to move America from its Constitutional moorings to something else entirely will be stopped in their tracks.  Will it happen?  It might, but I know that in the long run, America will come crashing down.  It make take one year, four years, or forty-one years, but it will happen.

But in the meantime, do I stand aside and allow it or do I continue to support the rule of law upon which this nation was founded?  I really have no choice, do I?  If I say I am a Christian, that means that I stand up for what is right, just as I do what is right.

Calling those to account who are trying to change America into something it is not, nor something it was meant to be, is part of the responsibility of being an authentic American, as well as a Christian.

*UPDATE:  According to this website, a public apology was issued by Alderman Marston directly to Joanna Johnson-Smith.

Muslims Appeased; Christians Denied And a Happy Sequester Day to You!

So how do we get the republic out of coma? The socialist democracy has grabbed the reins of government control. A two party system is very easy to steer into any other way than the republic for which it once stood. I don’t say not to protest, however if we dwell on this, time will bring a revolution and hopefully a legal one. I for one don’t want to see a bloody civil war as we had in the late 1800’s. It’s frustrating to watch the foolishness of the parties involved. The childishness of it all makes me wonder at this great nation and the men and women that are leading it into oblivion! These mind sets are satanic! This is a heavy spiritual war we are engaged in even if we do not participate we must all see the danger. Hopefully more pray warriors will enlist in the fight! Extreme capitalism gives birth to the imperialism that we see in the monster corporations that are considered to be “conservative” and republican. Even though they seem to have no party at all except their own ideology. The left is brain washed into a socialist way that will give them the wealth of these rich
entities and both parties are demonized by each other! We know the only answer is Jesus and kingdom of God! Hopefully very soon!

The only thing I know how to do is continue to produce articles that help get what I believe to be the truth out there, Lester. That, and of course, prayer.

I agree with you regarding a civil war. I don’t want one either and it would be nothing but bad for this country.

I also agree with you that the root of the problem is what has been established in the spiritual realms. This is a spiritual war because of what Satan needs to accomplish.

It is a real conundrum to me as well. Capitalism – by its nature – can be a good thing. It allows creative people to invent and gives them the freedom to create companies that produce products from which we all benefit. But yes, extreme capitalism is wrong and winds up crushing the common person.

Socialism does the same thing, in my opinion. It does not reward creativity and ingenuity as capitalism does, therefore people tend to simply go along with life.

I believe that as Christians, we must use every opportunity to present the gospel that should of course, take precedence. At the same time, we should also do what is right based on the rule of law in this land.
