It Takes Time

A few links before we get started for anyone interested:

I get a number of emails weekly from readers and I’m very grateful for the time they take to write, to ask questions, to comment and even occasionally, disagree. I’ve said many times and will continue to say, I’m not a prophet nor do I have perfect knowledge of God’s Word, but I sure wish I did! Though I have a Bachelors in Bible, a Masters in Biblical Studies and Doctorate in Theology, I am nowhere near where I’d like to be concerning God’s Word. I hope I never give anyone the opposite impression.

One reader recently wrote and brought up some great points. The reader stated in part:

Let me also point out to your readers that it would behoove them to use your search engine and occasionally go back and research certain subjects like for example the ‘Rapture’.

What this person is referring to is the SEARCH BAR at the top right of the every page of StudyGrowKnowBlog (see image). In that search bar, type in a word or phrase, then click “Go!” and it’ll search all of the articles posted since the first post way back in June 18, 2009. Currently, 2,420 articles have been published (including this one), with 71 drafts that may or may not be posted in the future. This search box will NOT generate a search of the entire Internet, but only within the articles/pages here at StudyGrowKnow blog; in essence, an internal search.

The same reader asks a question.

After recently doing a search from your site on the rapture and tribulation, I was hoping for you to expand on something I had never considered until reading through those articles. That being, after the rapture (pre-trib) occurs, there will be a period of time before the tribulation begins.

Tell me if I’m wrong but the bible makes no reference to the fact that the tribulation starts immediately after said rapture. It seems perfectly logical that it would in fact take a while for things to unfold before the Antichrist signs a peace agreement with Israel and the world goes into even further decline assisted by the rapture of the Church.

I would agree that the Bible does not appear to teach that the Tribulation immediately starts after the Rapture occurs. The Rapture simply makes way for the Tribulation to occur at some point following. We know the actual starting point of the Tribulation is found in Daniel 9:24-27, when a peace deal is made with Israel and surrounding nations by a “prince.” This is most likely the same “man of sin/man of lawlessness” Paul refers to in 2 Thessalonians 2, and John refers to in Revelation 6:2 (First Seal).

And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. (NKJV)

This person will have great authority. But the fact that he has a bow with no arrows could easily indicate that he will mainly conquer politically to gain power. He won’t be above using other tactics too, as we’ve mentioned (he will “uproot” three of the 10 coming kings, likely killing them). This is exactly how it’s done today in many quarters throughout the world otherwise there would be constant major wars on the earth. We are living in day where there are “wars and rumors of wars” (Matthew 24:6). But the world is not now in a full, global conflagration like WWI and WWII. There are actually very few all-out wars happening now, though there is terrorism and skirmishes among certain nations and areas of the world.

Unlike the Antichrist, when Jesus physically returns to this earth to close the coming Tribulation, He will do so in absolute power and might, physically destroying all those who oppose Him (Revelation 19:11-16). The Antichrist, on the other hand, will capture the awe and admiration of the entire world through supernaturally deceptive means and will do two things:

  • he will resurrect the old Roman Empire into the light of modern day, and
  • broker a peace deal between Israel and surrounding Arab nations for seven years

I’ve broached the subject of the resurrection of the old Roman Empire in my current and ongoing series Daniel 7 and Revelation 13, Pt 2. Once Antichrist recreates the old Roman Empire, he will be heralded as the guy! The world will marvel at this man who has done what so many others have failed to do. He’ll use politics and every trick up his sleeve (including supernatural powers), to do this and once that has been accomplished or maybe at the same time, he will focus his attention on the Middle East.

The Antichrist will be successful in the Middle East too, where all others have failed by bringing Arab and Israeli leaders to the table for a peace treaty that will “guarantee” peace for seven years. The Antichrist will be seen as god himself for doing this; a true man of peace. Of course, we also know that Daniel tells us of the 70 weeks (or 70 “sevens,” Daniel 9) and each “week” is a period of seven years, if we consider context of Daniel 9. Unfortunately, many people do not consider context. Please also understand that it is God who allows Antichrist to resurrect Rome and bring “peace” to the Middle East, just as He allowed Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome to rise when they did. It all happens because of God’s purposes, not man’s.

So to the question the reader asked, “…it seems perfectly logical that it would in fact take a while for things to unfold before the Antichrist signs a peace agreement with Israel and the world goes into even further decline assisted by the rapture of the Church.” I believe that as well. It seems logical.

Antichrist will not appear one day, resurrect ancient Rome into something far more modern and technologically advanced and then create peace in the Middle East all the next day. In all likelihood, the Antichrist is on the scene right now, working and plotting his moves in order to gain control. I’d like to stress I could be completely wrong here. It simply seems to me that the way things are going in society causes me to conclude that the world is coalescing into a “oneness” that is unlike anything that has come before it. But of course, the Tribulation could be decades in the future still. In that case, Antichrist is not here yet. I truly do not know. No one does.

Consider what is occurring throughout the world in modern, western societies. French President Macron is doubling down and insists those who refuse the vax will be cut off from French society. They will no longer be considered French citizens. This is the type of stuff that happens in communist and third world countries, but when has it happened to this degree with western civilized democracies? This is what dictators do to control people. It’s not what happens in a democracy (or Constitutional Republic like the USA). Yet, this seems to be the direction the world as a whole is moving all under the guise of safety, health and security. The Great Reset anyone?

The Rapture could occur at any time up to the start of the Tribulation. When it does, please consider that with millions of people gone in an instant, disbelief and chaos will result. Imagine the destruction that will be left in its wake. Cars, trucks, planes and boats all with drivers left to crash. The instant absence of so many will completely shock the world and rightly so! A true leader will be desperately needed.

The Rapture will help Antichrist immeasurably, providing a tremendous opportunity to show his powers of leadership. With the world in complete disarray, he will be a calming voice to the masses. His charisma, leadership, and level thinking will be on display. He will be seen as a leader’s leader and people will naturally want to follow him, like Nimrod of old (Genesis 10-11). So loved will he be that when the actual mark of the beast is introduced, most will clamor for it. I can see them wearing it as a “brand,” a source of pride. We are seeing a bit of this attitude with the CV vax, though I do not believe that is the mark of the beast. However, I do believe it will possibly segue into that at the middle of the Tribulation. We have a ways to go yet before we are there.

COVID is being used to bring all people and nations together, even as rights are dismissed in the name of “health and safety.” Anyone who does not go along will be left out and cut off and that could happen in areas of the USA. I doubt we will go back to any measure of the normalcy we had before CV and I and others warned of that way back then. The conditions in society now are perfect for the rise of the Antichrist. The world almost needs a powerful, calming voice projecting leadership, intelligence and even a smattering of sovereignty. Right now, leaders are falling woefully short because all they’re doing is creating a divide through excessive force and unconstitutional mandates.

Instead the Antichrist will use every bit of supernatural deception he can muster to portray himself as a man of the people, who seriously and truly wants only what is best for the world’s population. He will sound the alarm while coaxing all to take up their “cross” and follow him so that all will benefit. Antichrist will not be a Joel Osteen, a Kenneth Copeland or anyone like that (though I can see these leaders putting their reputations behind him in total support).

If you can picture the most non-plussed, well-informed, caring person who is truly able to come alongside you, embrace you with the warmth of his words and caress of his look, this is what I envision the Antichrist to be like when he first takes up his place in the world. His supernatural warmth, charm, charisma, power and intelligence will be so welcoming, that people will want more than anything to fall in line behind him. He will captivate and capture the hearts and minds of the world. Only at the midpoint of the Tribulation, will people (Jews especially), begin to see his malevolence. But at first – even possibly before the Tribulation starts if he is on the international scene – this guy will be someone both men and women will love and want to emulate and please.

All of this will take time to develop. It could very well be that the world will see the Antichrist in his “infancy” before the Rapture as he begins to make his move politically to rise above all other leaders and globalists. However, he might not actively appear until after the Rapture. Paul notes that he will be “revealed” when he waltzes into the rebuilt Temple and sits in the Holy of Holies. This occurs at the midpoint of the Tribulation and Jews will realize they’ve been had and will flee to the mountains away from Jerusalem (Matthew 24; 2 Thessalonians; Revelation 12). Believers during the Tribulation may be aware of who this guy is from the start. Jews will be blind to it until he “reveals” himself by demanding to be worshiped thus fulfilling Jesus’ warning of the coming “abomination of desolation” in His Olivet Discourse.

It’s possible that getting to the start of the Tribulation may take some time and it’s also possible Christ’s Bride may be here to see some of that, including seeing the guy who will bring it all together; the Antichrist. However, it seems clear to me that the Church will not be here when the Tribulation officially starts.
