GABA, GABA, Doo, Part 6

Americans have been taught that the food that is available to us is healthy and good for us, so stop complaining and eat! That’s wrong. Much of the food that we eat is slowly killing us. Do you want to become healthy? Do you want to get off some of your medications? It will involve a complete lifestyle change. Forget the so-called “diet.” They are generally worthless because even if/when people lose weight, they eventually stop being on their diet. At that point, they will usually gain all their lost weight back and then some. I’m talking about a lifestyle change that puts you in charge of your health. Is that something you’re interested in?

GABA, GABA, Doo, Part 5

This is not an easy thing to do to keep these things in balance, especially with the way most Americans eat today. As I’ve stated several times, if you will simply focus on eliminating the things in your diet that are actually causing your body harm, you are well on your way to increased health. This, in turn, will allow your gut to create the needed neurotransmitters and these in turn, will be utilized by your brain to work as they should work.

GABA, GABA, Doo, Part 4

Are you getting the picture that if you fail at taking care of your health, it will be disastrous? Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but eventually, your immune system will start to break down and will be unable to keep track and tabs on all the things that are starting to go wrong in your system. It would be like using the dirtiest gasoline you can find to fill your tank or never-changing your oil. Eventually, your car’s engine would start to break down. There are enough normal maintenance issues with any vehicle but the last thing you want is to have to replace your engine because you didn’t put the right fuel into it.

GABA, GABA, Doo, Part 3

I had ballooned up to 255 pounds with a nearly 44 inch waist. I’m only 5′ 7″ tall, so clearly, I was obese. Not good. Today, I am down to 193 pounds and almost into a size 36″ waist. To me that’s remarkable especially when I tell you that I have not tried to lose weight. Once I began eliminating things from my diet, the extra pounds started to evaporate. All this has led me to believe that our bodies will do what is best for us, if we cooperate with our bodies. I believe that eventually, my body will simply level off at the weight it is supposed to be at, without me having to worry about “dieting.”

GABA, GABA, Doo, Part 2

Think about the fact that just these two neurotransmitters – GABA and glutamate – perform many functions via communication in our systems. When they are out of balance or sync, the impact on our physical, mental, and spiritual health is almost immediately seen. What is very interesting is that these two particular neurotransmitters are exact opposites. GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter, while glutamate is an excitatory neurotransmitter.

GABA, GABA, Doo, Part 1

If you are a Christian especially, you need to realize and comprehend that as Paul tells us our bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19), we need to treat it as such! This is so important, I cannot emphasize it enough. What we put into our bodies, whether food or drink will deplete or replete our neurotransmitters. The depletion of them will create all manner of illness and malaise. The repletion of them will help make and keep us healthy.

Walid Shoebat Espouses Some Powerful Callousness

I want to state that I fully reject and condemn Shoebat’s words, the callousness of his attitude, and his seeming absolute lack of Christlike love toward all people. But again, this is often where Dominionism leads, in my opinion. It breeds contempt for others. It sees people who oppose Christianity as the enemy. In one sense, those who remain lost are enemies of God, just as those of us who are now Christians were all enemies of God prior to embracing salvation (Colossians 1:21), but these people are not our enemies and there is a huge difference. Paul speaks clearly about this when he tells us quite plainly that our battle is not against flesh and blood (human beings), but against those in the spiritual realm (Ephesians 6:12).

Can We Biblically Love People Enough?

Here are various Bible passages that define God’s definition of love. Please go there and take the time to read them, analyze them, contemplate them, and ask the Lord to help you live them. I will state very clearly that I know that I do not love enough (and certainly not perfectly!), and you probably don’t either. This doesn’t mean we ignore sin, but we’d better be spending more time noticing our own sin before we point fingers at others.

Who Has Control Over Your Life Anyway?

Unfortunately, too many Christians act as though this life now is the best we’ll ever see! Wonder where that thought came from? I’m convinced that when my time to die comes, I will simply die. I may die from a heart attack, a car accident, a stray bullet, or only God knows what, literally. But unlike Hezekiah who begged and tearfully pleaded with God that his life be extended (and it was granted; 2 Kings 20), my life will end at its preordained time and I do not need to know when that will be.

Blame Game for Orlando Carnage

What about the worst case scenario? What if guns are to be eventually made illegal to own and collected throughout society? A precarious situation to be sure and one that will cause a great deal of problems in society, but in the end, if a law is passed that makes it illegal to own a gun, then Christians must obey the law. Do I agree with that law, if it should come to pass? No, I don’t. But we’ve been going over Romans 13 where it certainly seems clear enough that Paul commands us to submit ourselves to those who have authority over us. The only reason not to do that is when leaders forbids us from preaching the gospel (Acts 4). Peter could not obey this directive and didn’t. But this was the only situation where Peter believed he could disregard the “laws” of man.
