Death or Rapture

January 28, 2010 at 9:12 PM

I’ve been putting the finishing touches on the proof I have in my hands for this latest book of mine and I want to take the next few Blogs here to post some chapters.  Who knows, but I may end up putting the entire book here which can then be downloaded, free of charge.  Isn’t that swell?

I’m not interested in making money off the books I write.  I’m interesting in getting the information out there.  Unfortunately, I’m not a millionaire, so I am unable to buy a ton just to give away.  I wish I could, but the Lord has not provided a way for me to do that yet.  Maybe He will, but in the meantime, I will share at least some of the chapters with you folks here.

The upshot of this new book compares the Rapture scenario with our death.  As a PreTribber, I believe the Rapture to be imminent.  Of course, when many individuals hear that word (imminent), they tend to become unglued.  They not only do not agree with the my understanding of the use of the word imminent, but they tend to start frothing at the mouth at the mention of the PreTrib Rapture as well.

However, what about death?  My death.  Your death.  We are all going to die and we have no clue about our day or time of departure.  If I am living my life daily considering the fact that I could die at some point in each death, am I being spiritually mature, or lazy and unspiritual?

On the other hand, if I am living each day, believing that at any point during any particular day, the Rapture could occur and take me to heaven, am I being spiritually mature, or lazy and unspiritual?

It is funny how many believe anything to do with the PreTrib Rapture makes a person unspiritual or lazy.  However, replace the words “PreTrib Rapture” with “imminent death” and all of a sudden, we have a Christian who is serious about the Lord, dying to self daily, and endeavoring to serve Him as much as is humanly possible.

That’s what this book is about and I have had a good deal of fun writing it.  Frankly, if Christians argued less about Eschatology and united more in our Lord’s Great Commission, only good could come of that.  As long as people continue to believe that PreTribbers are deluded, deceived, unspiritual, lazy, blah, blah, blah, puke…, then this harmony of purpose will never occur.

Stay tuned and I’ll share some of the text of this book in the next few days.  I have decided to ignore the remainder of Wohlberg’s “Exploding the Israel Deception” because it’s just too easy to point out all the holes in his exegsis.
