What’s the Truth about Barack Hussein Obama?

A friend told me about this page – thestraightway.org – which is a fascinating read.  It’s good that there are people like Usama, the gentlemen who runs the website.

As he states, he grew up in Egypt in a Christian home and while there, learned a good deal about Islam.  He also speaks and writes Arabic fluently and because of it, translated the Qur’an into English.

Also interesting is the fact that he has an “Obama Page,” in which he defines whether or not Mr. Obama is a Muslim.  Because Usama understands the Muslim mindset, he is able to break it down for us in helping us discern whether or not Mr. Obama is a Muslim or not.

The facts that Usama presents seem indisputable, however, I also have no doubt that there are “moderate” Muslims who would disagree with Usama’s findings.

You can read his comments and decide for yourself by heading over to this URL and reading the information there:

Fred, still trotting out the old conspiracy theories about Obama? This is all old news, and was clearly debunked by factcheck.org as far back ago as Jan 11, 2008:

    http://factcheck.org/2008/01/sliming-obama/

The test of whether Obama is a Christian is best determined by his own congregation in accordance with Scriptural authority, not by some random guy (who himself has an Islamic sounding name and who admittedly studied Islamic law at college), who has never met the President. It is clear his own congregation considered Obama a Christian and not a Muslim, including the Church’s own Pastor (who is best placed to make that determination).

In turn, given Obama is clearly considered a Christian by his own congregation, the only way to challenge his Christian status is by attacking his own local Church, the Trinity Church of Christ in Chicago, which Usama does. However, contrary to what is claimed, the Trinity Church is accepted in full communion by the United Church of Christ, a mainline Protestant Christian denomination with 5,287 congregations and over 1,080,199 members!

If you want to attack Obama over something credible, such as his poor economic management, then go ahead – you would have very good cause. However, don’t you realise that espousing some conspiracy theories only serves to turn off independents and unwittingly stand up for Obama. Leading GOP leaders such as Karl Rove have said as much time and again. Thus, ironically, posts like this arguably only increase, not decrease, the chances of Obama’s re-election. Talking of conspiracies, one could make the case that this post is really aimed at getting Obama re-elected!

Simon, it’s funny to me that in your rush to defend Mr. Obama, you wind up casting aspersions on Usama who though he grew up in Egypt, was raised a Christian. Having lived among Muslims all of his life, he understands what makes a Muslim far more than you or I do.

Of COURSE he has an Islamic-sounding name because he was born in Egypt. What, his parents should have named him “Joe”?

You are also obviously not aware of some of the material that is actually starting to make its way into the mainstream press either. Even Chris Matthews is starting to question what Obama is doing.

Frankly, I don’t care if you think my concerns are credible or not.

Jeremiah Wright’s church focuses on Black Dominion Theology – that’s a fact. Whether they are “accepted in full communion” or not means nothing.

You said, “The test of whether Obama is a Christian is best determined by his own congregation in accordance with Scriptural authority, not by some random guy (who himself has an Islamic sounding name and who admittedly studied Islamic law at college), who has never met the President. It is clear his own congregation considered Obama a Christian and not a Muslim, including the Church’s own Pastor (who is best placed to make that determination).”

Really. I thought the best test of whether a person is a Christian is in their FRUIT. You remember Jesus mentioning that in Matthew 7? I guess that’s not good enough for you though. You think my pastor or members of my congregation are the ONLY ones who can determine the validity of my Christianity? Wrong, Simon. Absolutely wrong, unless of course, Jesus was wrong and according to you, He was, since you said what you said above.

      You like factcheck.org, do you?

Then you must be aware of the following:
Factcheck.org is part and parcel of the Annenberg Foundation.

The full name of FactCheck.org is The Annenberg Political Fact Check.

The Annenberg Political Fact Check is part of the Annenberg Public Policy Center.

Also part of the Annenberg Public Policy Center was the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which was founded by William Ayers, and to which he recruited the young Barack Obama. This was Barack Obama’s first big-boy job.

The Chicago Annenberg Challenge was the launching pad for Barack Obama’s political career. He owes every bit of success since then to the contacts he made and favors he was able to grant as Chairman of this fund. It would not be at all inaccurate to call Barack Obama “The Senator from Annenberg”

Yet people regard factcheck.org as an unbiased “fact checking” organization.

Note the part I bolded. Gee, I wonder why they would “debunk” all of these so-called conspiracy theories, Simon? That’s rhetorical, by the way.

What? You mean you never checked into who owns factcheck.org or which side of the aisle they play? Doesn’t surprise me, just like snopes.com is owned by others who are very high up in wanting to defend Mr. Obama. These are not unbiased organizations, Simon.

Oh well, I’m wasting my bandwidth.
