Apparently, One Conservative Republican Manager at IRS Ordered Tea Party Targeting

Apparently, one conservative republican manager at IRS ordered Tea Party targeting. At least this is what we are expected to believe because of what came to the surface from the investigation into the IRS scandal via the House of Representatives Oversight and Government Reform Committee meeting. That’s all it takes to convince a key Democrat on the panel as well.

As one article states, “A U.S. Internal Revenue Service manager, who described himself as a conservative Republican, told congressional investigators that he and a local colleague decided to give conservative groups the extra scrutiny that has prompted weeks of political controversy.” I see. Interesting that a conservative Republican not only admits that he and a colleague took it upon themselves to start targeting conservative groups, but he also seemed to negate the idea that the whole thing started with the White House. Beyond this, he announces his political ideology as well! Shoot, what could be better than that?

Well, he has at least one fan in Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD). According to Cummings, if it was his call, he would wrap this whole thing up and move on to other things. But gee, the IRS manager says he’s conservative and a Republican, but we can’t prove it one way or another at this point. Apparently, this guy has not actually appeared before the panel and his name is John Shafer. Obviously, we need to find out more about this guy.

By the way, why was the information about him being a “conservative” and a “Republican” part of what he told investigators? I don’t recall that this information was included with any of the whistleblowers. Yes, it came out, but it wasn’t necessarily presented at the committee hearing by the individuals. Again, that’s convenient.

There are too many things wrong with the whole IRS scandal (not to mention the other scandals). First, it was just two rogue agents in Cincinnati. Then, it was 80. Then some agents in Cincinnati pointed to DC. Others pointed to the White House.

Now, lo and behold, we have one supposedly conservative Republican manager in the Cincinnati office who acted on his own to aggressively inspect documents related to applications from conservative groups. He says he did this for “consistency and identifying issues that needed to have further development.” But this same agent wasn’t concerned about groups on the left?

Of course, that explains then why many of these conservative groups were asked questions that were essentially illegal (what does your group pray about?), why it took sometimes up to two years to approve the applications, and why a tremendous amount of additional paperwork was generated for these conservative groups but NOT for groups on the left. No, it explains nothing.

Rep. Darrell Issa is correct in wanting to continue the probe regarding the IRS. As he stated, “the individual’s testimony “did not provide anything enlightening or contradict other witness accounts. The American public wants to know why targeting occurred and who was involved.” Not only do we want to know, but government has an obligation to inform us. We must know.

Here’s what we have so far. Democrats are saying that the trail does not go all the way back to the White House. GOP says it does. Workers in the Cincinnati IRS office believe it does, but they’re having a hard time proving it.

Now we have John Shafer – allegedly a conservative, Republican – who says he made the call to target conservative groups and also says that he does not believe the trail goes all the way back to the White House.

I smell fish. Something stinks. Hopefully, someone will be able to dig up some info on this “John Shafer” and provide more on the story. Keep checking back and if anyone out there has anything, please feel free to let me know!

If this guy is a “plant,” it won’t be long before that becomes public knowledge.

It’s a sure bet the NSA already knows…

It’s like any thing else that has taken place, like the Clinton said “at this point what difference does it Make”. They heat up one thing to get you looking in to that then, get it going while behind the the curtain, they are moving to other things we may never know, there’s stinky fish every where.
