Foundational Crisis in America, Part 2

June 15, 2020 at 11:03 AM

Last time, in part one of this short series, we introduced the idea that America has a foundational crisis. We noted that this crisis is of epic proportions and it exists because of LIES and LYING.

In a nutshell, the rule of law is being dismantled through Marxists/radical groups like AntiFa and BLM as well as through the ideologies that are being foisted upon society that are dead set against truth. The way law enforcement is being vilified today is really an onslaught against God’s own virtuous system of law and order. In commenting on 2 Thessalonians 2:7 – “For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way,” commentator Dr. Thomas Constable writes:

…a general abandonment of the basis of civil order is envisaged. This is not only rebellion against the law of Moses; it is a large-scale revolt against public order and since public order is maintained by the ‘governing authorities’ who ‘have been instituted by God,’ any assault on it is an assault on a divine ordinance (Romans 13:1;2). It is, in fact, the whole concept of divine authority over the world that is set at defiance in ‘the rebellion’ par excellence.

What we are seeing throughout the USA today is the controlled demolition of America, allowed by God in order that His purposes will come to fruition. The lawlessness or apostasy that Paul speaks of in 2 Thessalonians 2 is leading conclusively to the coming final Gentile Empire first highlighted in the book of Daniel, chapter two. This particular empire is yet future but the Bible has a great deal to say about it and the man who will ultimately rule over it; the Antichrist. We are foolish if we think we can overcome what is happening in society. Instead, we should be much more focused on two things: 1) the Lord’s eventual return, and 2) evangelizing the lost while it is still “day.”

The coming Antichrist will be the personification of lying wonders as noted by Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:9. Everything about Antichrist will be one lie after another, seen as attractive by those who are perishing. Though this world rejected God the Son, Author of Truth, this same world will clamor after Antichrist. He will seem to be all things to all people because of his lies and wholeheartedly accepted by most.

So, what should Christians should be doing/saying and focusing on as we see the Tribulation looming on the horizon.

I. What Christians Should be Doing/Saying
Admittedly, it is often very difficult for Christians as we strive against the world. We are often swimming “upstream” against the world. By virtue of the fact that we are doing that, we can expect the world to fight back because we stand out.

This is what the Bible means when it talks about the fact that in this world we will have tribulation (problems in the general sense), and the world hated Jesus and so it will hate us (John 16:33; John 15:18; James 4:4; Matthew 10:22, etc.). If the world loves us, we’re probably doing something wrong. It’s only when our lifestyle stands opposed to the fallen worldview that we attract attention and often, usually persecution. Of course, Paul refers to the coming specific time of Tribulation where God Himself pours out His wrath over a seven year period onto the world that hates and rejects Him. God even sends a strong delusion so that those who hate truth will be able to more easily receive the lies of the Antichrist (vv. 11-12).

The King James version of the Bible uses the word “lie” no less than 155 times. There are many examples of people lying in the Bible, starting with Satan in Genesis 3. We see that Cain, who killed his brother Abel, also lied to God in Genesis 4:9 when he said he didn’t know where his brother Abel was, in response to God’s question about Abel.

Though a believer apparently, who encouraged Ananias to lie (Acts 5)? Satan, the father of lies, did. Satan literally filled his heart with the desire to lie and as Peter notes in verse 5, “You have not lied to man but to God.” God could not let this stand. He had to bring swift justice on the situation. By the way, this does not mean Ananias (or his wife who came in later but met the same fate – death), lost their salvation (if they actually were believers). That is impossible. However, God chose to use their lying to Him as an occasion to bring home a serious point. It caused a reverential fear among God’s people and should with us today.

Proverbs 6:16-19 states, “There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.”

God hates lies and lying. He doesn’t hate the person who participates in them, but He certainly hates lying. God’s antidote to lies and lying is God Himself. 1 John 1:5 says, “This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” God is light. Not a spec of darkness is in Him.

Numbers 23:19, Titus 1:2 and Hebrews 6:18 clearly spell out God’s inability to lie. Here they are in with Numbers first.

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began…

That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us…

As Christians, if must endeavor to imitate God in Christ. John the apostle spells it out for us in 1 John 1:6 when he says, “If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.”

There are only two ways for Christians to live. Either we are conformed to the world or we are conformed to God and His image. This does not mean we endeavor to BE God, an impossibility. It means we strive to be like God in character, by submitting our lives to Him daily so that He can work in and through us for His glory and our growth. This is where the rubber meets the road for the Christian and is unmistakably the most difficult aspect of being a Christian. If we have one foot in the world we are in the world, period. It is either or, not a bit of both.

Christians should never lie in word or deed. Our lives must be filled with righteousness and that can only happen as we conform ourselves to His character and that includes never lying. If we are always telling the truth by our words and actions, we are not only conforming to His character, but we are bringing Him glory.

The USA is in a controlled demolition and is arguably the last country that stands between freedom and anarchy. Once America goes, there go freedoms and rights and in comes the New World Order, the final world empire noted in Daniel 2. I”m amazed at how many Christians on social networks believe that we Christians and patriots can actually change what God has determined will be actual. Certainly, it may be a while before this final demonic empire rises fully to the world’s stage but there are so many things in play right now pushing for it, it clearly seems that it is sooner than later. As I’ve repeatedly stated, even if President Trump manages to accomplish many good things, those good things can easily be erased by the next president after him.

Based on this pattern of revolutionary anarchy occurring in America today, if we don’t think that it’s going to get difficult for Christians in America, we really need to think again. This brings us to a very serious reality. I believe we have arrived to the point in society where each and every Christian must decide for him or herself whom they will follow. If we are truly seeing the Tribulation looming on the horizon as the one-world government is being built, we must decide if we will wholeheartedly follow Jesus wherever He leads, living as He expects us to live, or will we compromise with the world for our own “safety”? I promise you I am asking myself this very hard question along with you.

Please understand that I am not setting dates. I’ve made no specific prognostication regarding any date. I simply believe that things are moving quite quickly toward the final empire reveal headed by the Antichrist. The many groups and agendas all pushing for and hyping the “new world order” is far too real to be coincidental. Besides the UN, there are many individual groups and agencies that are either loosely or directly connected to the UN that are all seeking to secure what they believe will be full equity and inclusion for all in this coming order. Please take the time to research it. Yes, some are off on the deep end, while others spend their time trying to disprove that anyone is calling for a new world order. Besides these two fringe groups, there is plenty of actual information available that more than proves it. Start with H. G. Wells’ book “The New World Order.”

If America is being destroyed and it is being allowed by God, shouldn’t our approach to this be more of letting America go, as difficult as that might be? I realize that smacks of defeatism to many, but the truth seems simple and that truth is built either fully on God’s Word or it is not.

What is more important, our faith in our nation or faith in God’s Word and that God will work in and through us to claim more of the lost in the world? I believe we are being called during this time to prove to God our mettle. Will we live as He wants us to live? We will endeavor to serve Him as He calls us to serve Him? Will our top priority be the salvation of the lost or our politics?

I believe at this time especially, God is calling people to live, do, speak and serve as He would have us. This means that we will continue swimming upstream against the world as it moves toward the Tribulation. It won’t be easy. In fact, it may be difficult, but it will be rewarding.

As the world free-falls toward the coming hell on earth, how will you respond to God’s call? People need salvation. Who will tell them? Our Christian lives need to stand out by the way we live. I’m absolutely amazed at how many people who identify as Christians in their social profiles use some of the most atrocious language in their posts. I don’t understand that. They are living as the world lives. What possible difference are they making? In fact, by the way they express their viewpoints, are they bringing honor or dishonor to God?

Christians, we need to stand out for Jesus. We need to be willing to live the way He would have us live.
