Perilous Times are Here: Traitors

August 24, 2020 at 12:21 PM 6 comments

We’ve been dealing with the passage from 2 Timothy 3:1-5 and in this article, we’re highlighting verse 4.

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (KJV)

I’ll ask the same question regarding this verse as I asked last time about verse 3: Are we seeing this in society today? Yes, we are seeing it.

Look at the list provided by Paul to describe what many will be like during the final part of the “last days” that we are currently living in.

  • traitors
  • heady
  • highminded
  • lovers of pleasure more than of God

There have been accusations that at least some of the people elected to political office are traitors. When these elected officials take office after winning an election, they also take the oath in which they promise to uphold the Constitution of the United States. It is clear some do this glibly because of how quickly and constantly they start bashing it or the United States.

When politicians come out publicly in support of AntiFa or BLM or they fail to condemn those Marxist groups, it is clear that their words or inaction are treasonous; certainly seditious. Anyone who takes the oath of office to uphold the Constitution yet spends their time demeaning and vilifying that document or the United States is not fit for public office.

A traitor is someone who, in simplest terms, is open to betrayal. They are willing to betray the rule of law for their own selfish gain. That is really it in a nutshell. Frankly, I’m not sure how anyone entering politics who is altruistic at the start can remain free of being sullied after they’re elected.

Moreover, it has become patently clear that many in Congress are quite likely on the take. Lobbyists are able to enslave politicians through huge campaign donations. This creates a need to “return the favor” to the lobbyists (who often represent multi-million dollar organizations).

Graft is big business able to turn even altruistic people toward corruption. Is this just within the realm of politics that this happens? No, as it can easily happen in businesses outside of politics and even can even happen within leadership at churches.

Pastors are under the constant pressure in some cases, to bow to the demands of “important” people in the congregation. I’ve seen it happen in numerous occasions when I worked as a youth pastor or associate pastor. If someone in the congregation is a huge financial supporter of that church (and effectively the pastor’s salary), puts pressure on the leadership to have his or her way about an issue in that church, chances are good that they may well get their way. The reason is obvious. Few pastors want to watch a tither or big donor walk away from that particular church and take their wallets with them. Often, church leadership will go along with those demands to “keep the peace” but in doing so, this may be a form of biblically “traitorous” behavior.

Is what the huge donor clamoring for something God wants to happen? Does the leadership give in because they don’t want to risk offending the huge donor and watching them walk away?

I’ve come to conclude – and have said as much previously – that for people going into the pastorate, it might be a great deal better if they keep their secular job and offer their services to the church free of charge. At most, they may wish to simply receive a “love” offering from the church on occasion. Then when issues rise in that church, the pastor isn’t tempted to make a decision based on finances, but on what God specifically wants.

This is what Paul did mainly because he did not want to be a burden to a particular church body, even though he had every biblical right to expect that congregation to support him. Interestingly enough though, I see nothing from Paul that says he expected to receive a set “paycheck” from individual congregations. For Paul there was no 401k, no insurance, no perks. Shouldn’t that come from the secular realm? Why are churches such big business today?

So many problems in churches could be avoided if more pastors were willing to offer their teaching and shepherding services free, simply relying on the love of their people to present a love offering to them on occasion. If that pastor were working outside the church, he could not also be expected to be “on call” 24/7 either. The deacons would have to step up and take care of things as happened in the book of Acts, so that the apostles were freed up for prayer and teaching the people.

I am convinced that as time moves forward, we are going to see more hardship coming to churches. I could be wrong, but consider the fact that with the CV-19 shutdowns, many businesses have been permanently lost and millions of people are unemployed. Churches are forced into closing and remaining closed, except through digital media. Churches are not “essential”? Absurd.

In the fall of 2019, the average person never saw coming what we are experiencing today and likely would’ve laughed at the thought. We would’ve been shocked if someone from the future came back to 2019 with a dire warning about what the state of affairs would be in global society in 2020.

But notice Paul moves from describing people as traitorous to heady and highminded. These adjectives are similar and they go hand in hand with being “traitorous.” To be “heady” means to think very highly of yourself, to be carried away with your own self-importance. A heady person believes him/herself to be extremely valuable, a person that the world cannot do without.

Do you know people like that? They’re never wrong about anything. They believe their outlook on life is the outlook to have. Just ask them and they’ll tell you.

The ancient church during Paul’s day had those people in them. Paul often referred to them as “false” because their entire message was faulty, though often based on a grain of truth. In other words, what they did and tried to achieve was based on their own self-fulfillment and what they could accomplish for themselves. Can you think of anyone like that in Christendom today? I can.

We could use different synonyms for the list that Paul provides. Instead of “traitors” we could say treacherous. For “heady” we might say headstrong or even reckless because what is most important to people like this is doing what they believe is in their best interests. They don’t care how they achieve their goals as long as they achieve them.

This reminds me of Bill Gates. He wants the entire world to receive his upcoming CV-19 vaccine. This is in spite of the fact that major steps are being ignored in order to rush this coming vaccine into production. Skipping these steps doesn’t matter to Bill Gates. Do you think he and his wife will be taking it? Think again. This vax is not for the elite. It’s only for the serfs of the world (anyone who is not part of the elite).

But why is Bill Gates pushing this vax so hard? For many reasons and I’d wager none of them have anything to do with the public’s health.

Certainly, if the vaccine becomes mandated throughout the world (as individual states like Virginia are already saying it will be mandatory for everyone there), Bill Gates stands to make millions. It’s not as though he is poor now though, but how much money is enough? It’s never enough, regardless of how much money is acquired. More is better for people like Bill Gates, the Rockefellers, the Carnegies, et al. It’s a game with these people to see who can outdo the next globalist in terms of gathering more wealth. We are their pawns to do with as they see fit.

Do you think Bill Gates cares that harm might come through this coming vaccine? Does it matter to him that people might develop immune disorders or worse, might die because of this vaccine? If you believe Bill Gates cares, then I have land I’d love to sell you. He doesn’t care because of his “heady” or highminded attitude about himself and life in general.

To people like Bill Gates et al, we the people who are not “bluebloods” (extremely wealthy and powerful), are worth nothing except to be their servants. They’ll keep us around for that, but for nothing else and they’ll only keep those around whom they deemed are valuable to them. The people they believe are “useless eaters” or “useless idiots” won’t be kept around. It’s really that simple and that includes Christians who won’t willingly go along with their program (Revelation 7 and also Revelation 16:2; 19:20).

Paul is referring to people who are slanderers and truly “devilish” people because they are so wrapped up in their own agendas. Constable notes that the Greek word “diaboloi” is used here, which of course is where we get our English word, “diabolic.” He also notes that the people he is describing are “devoid of the most basic characteristics
of human life.” [1]

These people are so enamored with themselves and their ideas, and so drunk with the power that their wealth has provided that they actually become lower than human beings. They care nothing for anyone. Their goals are to enhance their own life and that of their families by any means necessary. If this means “buying” politicians, then so be it. They obviously need people who can affect laws of the land, don’t they?

I just read an article about 2,700 “evangelicals” who signed onto it stating that they believe Christians need to get onboard when the CV-19 vaccine comes out. You can read the entire article at the link below. [2] Here’s a quote from the article:

“We are deeply concerned about the polarization and politicization of science in the public square when so many lives are at stake. The word ‘science’ has become a weapon in the culture wars. Scientists are vilified and their findings ignored, while conspiracy theories go viral. Sadly, Christians seem just as susceptible to these trends. Thoughtful Christians may disagree on public policy in response to the coronavirus, but none of us should ignore clear scientific evidence,” the statement published online by the nonprofit organization BioLogos says.

The problem here is that science does not seem to even be part of the lockdowns, the masks, and other mandates. Let’s not forget the working hypothesis of Evolution that came from the scientific community. Be that as it may, many surgeons are speaking out against wearing masks [3], yet this information is completely ignored by mainstream media and many so-called experts today.

With respect to the coming vaccine, since major steps are being missed and it is being rushed out to the public, how can anyone be sure that this vaccine will be efficacious at all? Even Fauci said that the coming vaccine may only be 50% effective [4], yet in spite of this, the vaccine is coming at “warp speed” to the masses and now we have nearly 3,000 “evangelicals” who are trying to shame Christians into receiving the vaccine. Of course, these same “evangelicals” would likely support the World Council of Churches or the Ecumenical Movement in general.

There is a huge problem in society today caused by “traitors” and “highminded” people who see things only so far as how it benefits them. It’s in society, it’s in politics and it’s certainly in the church.

The USA is falling in real time. I hope it has not taken you by surprise at least at this point. Paul warned us. The many times Israel fell and was taken over by a neighboring empire due to their own insolence, haughtiness and rebellion should have been a warning to us all. If that wasn’t enough, the teachings of Scripture regarding the final empire of Daniel 2 taking shape during the final portion of the last days should’ve woken people up.

Unfortunately, too many are still sitting their with their popcorn, waiting for the Cavalry that is definitely not coming. There’s too much corruption, too much unchecked evil to reverse what is happening in society today and that includes the USA.

When have we ever allowed Marxist groups to destroy cities unchecked? When have we ever seen the police being told to stand down repeatedly while these evil groups destroy and terrorize people? It continues and it does so because I believe the mayors of cities and governors of those states have something to gain from dutifully ignoring the terrorism. I talk more about this in the series I just began on Technocracy.

Put your house in order. Draw and remain close to the Lord. Continue to be involved in the Great Commission, which has never been rescinded regardless of the good or bad times. Our job as Christians is to come to terms with the state of society today, trust the Lord for His provision and understand that people still need salvation. If we don’t tell/show them, how will they know?

Hi Modres, great article…I believe it comes down to “Pride, control and being taken over by the devil! I believe with Bill Gates he has a deep seated hatred for mankind. If you watch old videos of him, he looks like he’s on the autistic spectrum, and the pie in the face incident and being hauled before congress has made him a candidate the devil can and is using.

If you watch “Plandemic”, you will see what I am saying…

    ttps://freedomplatform.tv/plandemic-indoctornation-world-premiere/

Klaus Schwab founder of World Economic Forum reminds me of a lead baddie in a Bond Movie! All the players are coming together and with our “leaders” in Government in US on the take as many are all over the world, we only have one hope….Jesus…

Our James Bond is Jesus Christ and He’s coming soon! We continue praying!

I get through so much by increasing the playback speed to x2 which might be too much for some, but at least increasing it cuts down the time spent watching stuff….and boy is there a lot to get through…luckily my husband and I are retired and so spend our days praying and watching without much disturbance.

    Blessings Modres.

      Hi Maranatha!

Thanks very much for your great comments. Very thought-provoking. I’ve also thought Gates was on the Autism Spectrum or possibly Asperger’s. Wasn’t his father very supportive of Margaret Sanger’s efforts in eugenics (abortion)?

Thanks for the video links. I’ll check them out. I try to watch as many videos as possible but sometimes they are just so long it gets tiring and frustrating. At least one man my wife and I watch fairly regularly tends to wander a great deal and it’s hard to stay focused. However, he usually has some very good points. It’s just trying to stay up with him that’s difficult.

I’m retired but my wife isn’t yet. It will be nice when she is so that we can do more praying and studying together. Time is limited now and I try to help her out as much as possible.

“Wasn’t his father very supportive of Margaret Sanger’s efforts in eugenics (abortion)?”

Yes he actually ran planned parenthood at one time

“However, he usually has some very good points. It’s just trying to stay up with him that’s difficult.”

Yes we have a few people we watch like that…Lol.

“Time is limited now and I try to help her out as much as possible.”

That’s great! We keep watching, praying and trying to wake people up to the dangers ahead and that many more people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior before it’s too late!

Oh and another good article explaining the “Great Reset” they have planned for next year! Boy…it’s as if we’re in a James Bond movie!
