Moving Toward Destruction

February 3, 2011 at 5:38 PM

I’m sorry that there are any number people who will disagree with this assessment, but it seems clear enough that this world is hurtling toward a renaissance and it is not necessarily a good thing, at least in the near future.

Things show no sign of quieting down in Egypt.  What happens over there, will eventually and ultimately impact the entire Middle East and then the globe.  Many want Mubarak out of office.  They want him gone, believing he has far outlived his usefulness to that nation.

There are too many who believe that under Mubarak, the system that is in place rewards only those who are part of that system’s upper echelon.  Those in the trenches attempt to subsist on roughly $2 per day and cannot do it.  Beyond that, there is a new generation of young people who want a voice in their government.  They want a secular government, not a fascist or Islamic government.

On the other side are those who support Mubarak and do not want him ousted.  In the middle, kind of waiting on the sidelines, is the Muslim Brotherhood, which is a group fully aligned with terrorism.  They have to be because of their radical Islamic viewpoint.  They, like their radical brothers, are working toward a time when Islam will rule the world as it did centuries ago from Spain.

The tragedy of course is that for the Muslim Brotherhood to gain a strong foothold in Egypt, a good deal of freedoms will have to be removed from the populace.  The young people who want Mubarak out, also want a democracy that allows them to have a voice and an equal footing.  Not so with the Muslim Brotherhood, who like all Islamic terrorists simply wants to foist their viewpoint of Islam on the rest of Egypt, and finally, the world.

Depending upon what happens in Egypt will affect how the rest of the world reacts.  The rest of us can only wait and see what the resultant outcome is going to be.  Certainly, it does not appear as though the Obama Administration has a clue and says as much by trying to dictate to Mubarak and seemingly side with those in protest.  It would be better for the U.S. to stay out of things since – like Obama’s father who detested the United States’ colonial attitude toward the rest of the world – whatever is said with respect to the escalating situation in Egypt will be seen as colonialism, something much of the world hates.

I was watching a clip from the Hannity show in which he attempted to interview a radical Muslim cleric (or Imam) from Great Britain.  It was funny how the cleric seemed unable to answer simple and straightforward questions with simple and straightforward answers.

The Imam played games like “answer my question and I’ll answer your question” in response to Hannity’s question about whether or not the individuals responsible for the 9/11 atrocities went to heaven to enjoy 70 virgins.  It became difficult to watch only for the amount of frustration that could be seen in Hannity’s demeanor.

These are the games that radical Muslims play.  The Imam went on to preach the blessings of living under Sharia, which of course included

  • being a citizen
  • having essentials provided, like food, shelter, and water
  • would not be abused

…and a few others in the list that the Imam assured Hannity that all would “enjoy” under Sharia.  He also took the time to praise the value of Sharia because it treated women with respect, though all women – Muslims and non-Muslims – would be required to wear Burkas covering all but their eyes.

While the Imam disagreed with Hannity that women would not be stoned to death for committing adultery, the fact remains that this is exactly what happens in Islamic countries with a certain amount of regularity.  He finally did admit that he supports the Sharia because that is the law that Muhammad “revealed” to the world and that law serves Allah.

The question about what radical Muslim wants to achieve is clear.  They want to conquer the world.  Once the only game in town is Islam, then they believe peace will prevail.  It is in that sense that they are correct when they say that Islam is a religion of peace.  They see a world that is at peace…under Sharia, with Islam being the caliphate for the entire world.

What we are seeing in Egypt will absolutely have an outcome.  Sadly, it is not difficult to project that the outcome will have a decidedly radical Muslim feel to it.  It seems clear enough that the Muslim Brotherhood is simply waiting in the wings to usher in a new era of Islamic rule in Egypt.

Aside from the tragedy that continues to play itself out in Egypt, we can also see throughout the world things like our weather running amok.  The middle of the United States is literally snowed under.  Thousands of plane flights have been cancelled.  There are concerns about white outs and black outs, which would leave people stranded without electricity.

The weather in Queensland, Australia due to Cyclone Yasi is also playing havoc with that country.  Though Queensland has been inundated with flooding, this latest storm will simply continue to flood a part of the country that has already been water-soaked.  Thousands have been evacuated, homes have been destroyed, and there will be tremendous losses, of that we can be sure.

To top it all off, there have been sightings of UFOs over Jerusalem and they were caught on video.  Why Jerusalem?  Well, it stands to reason that that part of the world is the most heavily hammered area spiritually speaking in the entire world.  I read a book not too long ago recounting one woman’s involvement in what turned out to be the occult (though at the time she thought it was merely visitations from ascended masters.

She spoke of them taking her outside of her home and drawing her attention to the sky.  When she looked up, she saw filled with what she described as “wormholes.”  Anyone who has watched any Sci-Fi show or movie is familiar with a wormhole.  It is a passageway built into the atmosphere, or space itself that allows beings to travel from one place to another rather quickly.

The woman continued, recalling that her visitor told her the biggest wormhole over the entire earth is over Israel because of all the activity that takes place there.  Is what the woman heard and saw true?  I have no idea, but I find it interesting when I read the Bible and I note that as far as God is concerned, Jerusalem is the center of the world (cf. Ezekiel 38:12 as just one reference).

The woman said the sky reminded her of an ant farm.  When I read that, I immediately thought of Daniel when Gabriel visited him and indicated that he would have been there sooner, but the Prince of Persia kept him at bay (cf. Daniel 10).  We also learn that Gabriel tells Daniel he has to go back the same way to God’s throne.  I have always wondered why Gabriel had to do that.  I mean, if the atmosphere/sky is as open as it appears to us, certainly there would be more than one way back to the throne room of God.  However, if there do exist these wormholes, that would explain why Gabriel needed to go back the same way.

It might also explain why Nimrod wanted to build the Tower of Babel.  If he was the offspring of fallen angels and a human mother, the fallen angels would have easily known or remembered how they could have gotten back to the throne room and through which wormhole.  This may have been something that Nimrod innately knew.  Yes, I know that this is all speculation.  I admit it and I’m certainly not being dogmatic about it.  It is a possibility that makes sense to me, and that’s all.  I might be completely wrong about it though.

Getting back to the subject at hand, which is the fact that life goes on and people are continually trying to find normalcy in it, it is ironic isn’t it?  In spite of everything that is going on in the world, life continues as it has from the beginning.  Hollywood has not shut down production because of the concerns in the world.  Actors and crew report to work on a daily basis (unless of course it’s Two and a Half Men, starring Charlie Sheen, whose uncontrolled addictions have kept paychecks from being written).  People continue to go to work, they eat, they drink, and they continue to find ways to be merry.

Beyond all this, people are married and given in marriage.  The norms of life continue unabated.  Normalcy is the very thing that people find security in having so they continue to do the things that will give them some semblance of normalcy when life around them is erupting.

This is exactly what Jesus spoke of in the Olivet Discourse found in Matthew 24.  He spoke about the days of Noah and in spite of how bad and how evil those days were – and we know they were bad because that’s what we learn in Genesis 6 – people continued to do normal things in life, like eating, drinking, marrying, and being given in marriage.

It is interesting how unconscionable and uncontrolled evil can live side-by-side with the things that are considered to be universally normal.  Isn’t that weird?  Life goes on and we have heard that statement plenty of times to understand that no matter how bad life gets, the goal is to continue on in spite of it.

I am currently teaching a Bible class on Revelation at the church I attend.  I’m amazed that no matter how many times I study this book or any other aspect of Eschatology (study of the end times),  there is something else to learn.  (By the way, if you would like to view the PowerPoint videos, with my included audio narrative, feel free to hop on over to and you will see a number of links for Revelation Part 1, Revelation Part 2 along with the notes that correspond to those parts.  I hope to be adding a third part and a fourth part up soon.  Along those lines, you can also hear archived broadcasts of my show Study-Grow-Know that airs on a local station in my area, AM950 KAHI.  The audio/video player is embedded in the page and you will have no difficulty using it, I’m sure.)

The book of Revelation is phenomenally interesting, as is the entire Bible.  It amazes me that God has given us the play book and because of that, we have the opportunity to know what will happen before it happens.  Of course we know that God wins in the end, but the fact that He has taken the time to share His mind with us is beyond belief.  Yet, in spite of this, people do not open the book, nor do they take it seriously.  They will believe the voice of some demon speaking from the other dimension, posing as som angel of light, but these folks will not take the time to even attempt to address their own doubts regarding the Bible or Jesus!

We can be assured that things will get worse.  This should not take anyone by surprise, except those who have either opted to disbelieve the Bible or have not even taken the time to try to understand what the Bible says.  This reminds me of what occurs in Revelation 6 where even though the people KNOW the source of the wrath that they are experiencing, they continue to refuse to repent!  Check it out yourself in Revelation 6:15-17:

“And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”

Is that strange or what?  On one hand, it should not be because people have been doing their best to ignore God since the fall.  On the other hand, it is clear from the text that these individuals know beyond doubt that Jesus is the One who pours out His wrath onto the earth and the people who live here, yet the only thing they want to do is hide inside mountains.  Not sure if they want to die, but to ask the mountains and the rocks to fall on them certainly speaks of the possibility that they will die.  Apparently, though they are willing to admit that Jesus is the source of the wrath that they experience, they stupidly believe that they can either hide from Him inside mountains or in death.  How absurd, but this is how fallen, unrepentant people think.

We were discussing this last night during the class on Revelation.  People often know that “God created,” yet they deny it.  Certainly, in their heart of hearts, they know the truth and that truth will witness against them.  Our job as Christians, is to continue to tell people of the redeeming grace of Jesus so that one day, if God chooses, He will open their eyes to the truth.  Seeing the truth is certainly the first step, but they also need to embrace that truth.  We need to encourage people to see and embrace the truth just as the thief on the cross did prior to his death.

Knowing the truth without acting on it saves no one.  That is like slowly dying of thirst, while knowing that water is in the next room.  Knowledge is merely the starting point.  What people do with that knowledge is what matters.
