Ah Yes, More Jewels from Al Sharpton

Ol’ Sharpton has been relatively quiet lately, which usually means that no one is paying any attention to him, not that he is actually quiet.  Recently, he took time out to attack Herman Cain.  Here’s what he said, in part:

Rev. Al Sharpton said Friday that no matter how ‘black’ presidential candidate Herman Cain is, his conservative views are fundamentally at odds with the rest of the black community — and white people only like him because he says what they want to hear.” [1]

This is merely another way of playing the race card without actually looking like you’re playing it.  But let’s take a moment to attempt to look more closely at Sharpton’s words.  He says that white people like Cain because they like what they hear.  What about the black people who actually like Cain?  Do they count, Al?

But what about Mr. Obama?  His mother was white, correct, Al? So he’s not really “authentically” black in the first place.  Years ago, they called people like Mr. Obama “mulattos.”

Sharpton continued his rant stating, “How could anyone in their right mind — they grew up in the south and saw what they saw — and act like everyone that is unemployed and that is not rich did it to themselves?” Sharpton said. “So I would assume he is either socially ignorant or playing games to get votes, that he couldn’t possibly have grown up and come to that conclusion unless he was one or the other.” [2]

Sharpton assumes too much and if it was not for Jesse Jackson (and the Tawana Brawley debacle), Sharpton would not be a household epithet these days.

First it was some D-list comedienne who came unglued with the idea that white people are using Herman Cain to hide their racism.  Now, Sharpton – another one who’s not the brightest bulb in the box – is saying the same thing a different way.

Herman Cain is not “authentically” black enough for Sharpton because Cain has not done what either Sharpton or Jackson have done.  He hasn’t lived off the government or depended on donations to keep his organization going, as Jackson and Sharpton have done.  Herman Cain built his business from the ground up and has a good deal to show for it.

It is amazing to me that Mr. Obama is looking at some seriously low polls, yet the only people that racists like Sharpton talk about are “whites” as if only whites voted for Mr. Obama or that only whites are the ones who are backing off from supporting him.

I like what Herman Cain says.  I like what a few of the other candidates say as well.  I don’t like what Mr. Obama says or Biden, so what does that make me, a “hater” in general?  Give me a break.  The reality is that the only way we can pick a candidate (not that Americans actually choose who will be president; that’s done by the upper echelon and the media) is by going by what that candidate SAYS.

The reason Sharpton likes people like Biden and Obama is because they SAY what he (Sharpton) likes to hear.  It’s really that simple.

For instance, my last blog reported on the situation the Egypt with the Muslim Brotherhood v. Coptic Christians.  In spite of the fact that Coptic Christians are allegedly being run over by military vehicles and pounded by the military in general, Mr. Obama has allegedly stated that the Coptic Christians need to show “restraint.”  Huh?  How can they show restraint, by not dying so quickly?

Well, I say to the left, keep on playing the race card.  No one but your own actually believe it.  In fact, the people who say it don’t actually believe it, but they believe it works and if it works, they believe they should continue to play the card.  Hey, if you’ve had success at something, why change it up?

I can only imagine if any of this was coming from the direction of the “right.”  There would be hell to pay.  In spite of the FACT that Al Sharpton’s comments are purely racist, he is black, therefore he gets away with it.  He’s like a loose-cannon Muslim who gets what he wants because he’s so obnoxious about it.  Give him what he wants and maybe he’ll shut up.  No, it doesn’t work that way.

If Al Sharpton and others of his ilk did not talk about racism, they would have nothing to talk about.  Al Sharpton is like a soap opera.  You can miss the show for days (or weeks) and when you tune in, it’ll be like virtually nothing has happened.  On a soap, times literally creeps along inches at a time.  They can spend two weeks on one day.  This is exactly how racists like Sharpton operate.  They really have no forum except racism.  Remove racism and their entire platform disintegrates before them.

I still recall a two-panel cartoon I saw a year or so back.  In it, both Sharpton and Jackson were wishing upon a star that all racial strife and bigotry would simply evaporate.  In the second panel, they both had evaporated.

The world sees racism on display daily from the likes of Sharpton, Jackson, oh and let’s not forget Ed Schultz, who is apparently “black” enough for Sharpton because Ed is constantly tripping over himself to see if he can point out more white racism than Sharpton.  I guess Schultz is looking for approval from Sharpton.  I can only ask, WHY?

I think it’s pretty sad that someone who is fiscally conservative (as Cain is) as well as politically conservative (as Cain is) can be accused of being racist based on that.  It’s also ridiculous that any white person who happens to think that Cain has a good head on his shoulders is – according to Sharpton – only thinking that because Cain is apparently talking like a white man is the lowest form of racist rants.  I’ve come to expect that from Sharpton.  He’s an idiot, a moron, a racial-ambulance chaser, a loon, a self-aggrandizing oaf and he’s full of hot air.

He’s a buffoon and a joke and it’s too bad that the media gives him any time at all.  But hey, I guess there has to be some comic relief, so why not Sharpton?  If he’s too stupid to realize that people are laughing at him, then he deserves to continue to set himself up as the brunt of his own jokes.  Heck, it gave me another blog to write… 🙂
